I would love to see one of his fans on the red carpet at an event like the Met Gala. It would make a lovely and interesting accessory.

This is the most beautiful art and passion in ones craft in along while....I've always loved fans and have only a handful of them now. Its hard to find such quality here n U.S. if I had known about you when I was in the U.K. a few years ago, I certainly would have made a special trip to Paris. I find the fans intriguing and most fascinating, the way they open, how they feel when u fan with it. For instance the breeze is stronger with the bamboo fans than with one of silk n bamboo. I love them!

I never thought fan making would be a french art! Always thought it was something asian! Nice to see western and asian realms embracing the same form of art!!

France is the capitol of fashion but Spain is the capitol of Fans. If you are serious about fans, visit Madrid, Seville, Toledo, Valencia. So many stores there selling spectacular fans and lots of museums have exhibits on fans.

I really appreciate the fact that you mention Japan , because many people do not know that Japanese invented the folding fan, not the Chinese, not the Italian or the French but the Japanese , and i think it is very important to give them credit for that .
    th-cam.com/video/xTB0ouy0SmQ/w-d-xo.html
I also appreciate how you are actually using the same basic technique used in japan today , technique that hasn't change for hundreds of years . I have no idea Sylvain Le Guen if you ever read the comment section here , but if so , first of all congratulation for your work, i own 4 of your pieces and they are exquisite , thank you for keeping a sublime tradition alive and last thing . I lived many years in Japan and studied Jiutamai traditional dance and started collecting Japanese fan ever since and my grand mother was Russian and i kept preciously her old Russian fans . I do have a question though how come you have an almost perfect British pronounciation mixed with the sweetest french accent . Je parle la langue un petit peu (je suis Islandais/Russe/Britanique mais je trouve vraiment votre accent Britanique tres intriguant , ou avez vous appris l'Anglais et combien de temps avez vous vecu au Royaume Uni ?

+Lisa Maynard He's quite conscious of the materials he uses. For horn, shell etc., he restores and re-uses the sticks from vintage and antique fans.
