This game looks absolutely phenomenal, while the first trailer really made us excited about a 3D Kirby Game being made, this trailer really showed how vibrant, fun and over all very exciting the game is. The levels look fun to play and the Hub World and World map look to connect the game well. It also comes out in March which is like no time at all. Very Excited!
I feel like I’ve been waiting for a 3D Kirby game most of my life, it’s so weird to finally see one being realized. I cannot wait to see what kind of eldritch horror they’ve come up with for the endgame of this installment.

I cant wait! I didn't even know I wanted a 3d Kirby game and it's my most anticipated game now. I mean, if I heard the idea for it I'd be excited, but cautiously optimistic, not to mention it would sound too wild to be true, but they did it and it looks amazing! @@HeyoChris you are doing yourself a disservice. After you play this game, make sure you play Kirby Super Star for Super Nintendo or the DS version. Then the NES ones and N64. I grew up with the n64 one so I’m more biased towards that

Man, I knew the moment I was going to see more of this game, the better it was going to be. But this... this definitely looks way better than I even expected. I have a feeling this is going to be a game I'm going to buy this year
In some shots of the Village you can see the coliseum that was shown at the end with Meta Knight. There was also an audience of Waddle Dee from the village, so Meta Knight probably isn't a bad guy, maybe you have to beat him to unlock him as an alternate 2nd character. Also I know that Meta Knight isn't a 'bad guy', but he has fought kirby on occasions, also Dark Meta Knight took his appearance at one point, but I don't think this is that again.
I love how the waddle dees aren’t enemies anymore, and are instead allies that you rescue and create a village with. They deserve it after the years of punishment they’ve been through.
Yeah it’s not like Goombas or Koopa Troopas, the Dees are just following Dedede’s orders or minding their own business. I mean, there’s probably some nasty ones out there, but for the most part, it’s good to see them getting a bit of a break.
I don't know if it was just me but I always seemed to dodge the waddle-dees. They never really seemed to want to hurt me and sometimes they were just sleeping, I mean, how could I in good conscience eat someone who was sleeping?
Kirby doesn't often kill waddle dees out side of game play. The only examples I can think of off the top of my head are a few kirby triple deluxe scenes.
It does look amazing, but I don't believe it is an "open world" game (unless you constitute open-world differently than the general term applies to video games such as Breath of the Wild). Very much looks like you can fly around and choose linear levels that are environmentally interconnected/transitioned. The level selections can be seen at 0:56. So I don't believe they'll be interconnected, as in, you could just walk freely between areas. Likely just dedicated sections with each level having an end (perhaps when you rescue the waddle dees). Something similar to 3D World, it looks to be, though certainly more dynamic! Curious if you will be able to move the camera at all, or just for certain sections.
Well, this has got to be the most casual release date announcement I’ve ever seen for a major video game franchise! I’m super stoked to play this game. It really looks like HAL Laboratory is going all out with this title, and I’m really excited to see how they’ve adapted “Kirby” to a 3D platformer.

Kirby himself just might be the most jebait character ever, he looks so cute and his games look so vivid and colorful and then you are fighting a deranged soul of some sort that isn't even a bad person technically but you *must* end their lives or they will end yours.
The graphics look absolutely stunning, especially for the settings near the 1:20 mark! Even the Waddle Dee Town on its own has me hyped up! However, like always in the Kirby fashion, there’s gonna have to be a terrifying eldritch abomination as the game’s final boss. I wonder how they’re gonna pull it off for this game.
I can't wait to get my hands on this! The hub world, level design, ost- There's so much to take in from just the trailer alone... plus, any time bandanna dee is in the spotlight is a win in my book.
I would argue every kirby game is a classic, mainly cause theirs realistically no bad kirby games even the ones that aren't that popular still are really fun to play.
I honestly haven't been that excited for a Kirby game since 2011. This has changed that. This is exactly the fresh take on the series I wanted and it looks incredible.

I knew which part you were referring to without even clicking your timestamp. That looks extremely impressive. Reminds me of the ruined kingdom in Odyssey, except hopefully this time you actually spend a good amount of time there.
As I expected it looks like the game isn't open world, but I still definitely appreciate that it has a lot of background elements and the beaten path isn't just made of flat straight paths. Makes the levels feel more like real locations, which this game definitely needs when the location seems to be a big focus, considering it's in the title of the game.
I prefer this style more, I feel this works much better than a more open world style of play. This way you can have dedicated levels focused on specific copy abilities and theme the levels, challenges and enemies around them. This more focused/structured approach works waaaay more for Kirby imo.
That's fair. Remember this is kirby's first 3D title. They aren't just gonna jump the gun from 2D sidescroller to open world. They need to test the waters first.
Why does absolutely no one consider Galaxy. This looks a lot more like Galaxy 2 than 3D world, which works for better as a way to start developing 3D platformers
I really loved seeing Bandana Dee as player 2! He has essentially become the "Yoshi" of the Franchise. where he may be a little generic and is pretty much another member of his species, but he's easily the one of protagonists most valuable and important allies. Having him be the player 2 in this game over the helpers like superstar, or Meta Knight even is a great way to give him some recognition.

To me he feels a bit more like Toadette/Captain Toad for the same reason. He’s was a really fun evolution of the character (and even though I absolutely love them, probably a more creative idea than just some different colored Kirby’s lmao)
I never really understood why people think Bandana Dee is so generic. Like, I get that Waddle Dee is a species that can essentially serve as a Goomba, but Bandana Dee is a specific Waddle Dee that consistently shows up as a main character in these games. It’s like saying Yoshi is generic at this point because there’s so many of different colors and in a lot of games you just ride on them.

Its hypothesized that meta knight, kirby, and galacta knight are part of the same species but they each have different abilities and in kirby's case a different type of soul which is what gives kirby his copy ability different to others in his species. Bandana Dee is the species of waddle dee yet he's unique that he is well versed in a spear like how galacta knight has a lance yet being the same species as meta knight/kirby.

I’m shocked by this tbh, it looks great. Based on how little they showed last year I was expecting its release to come around may at the earliest but now that I see this it looks like production is going on quite well. I would’ve never guessed it was coming out in the latter half of March, but hey this game looks amazing and I am here for it. Kirby hype always feels good! And of course the ost is on point as always.
The best thing about this is because it's now in 3 dimensions there is room for more variety in hat powers. One small issue with old Kirby games was many powers felt redundant or inferior to other ones because you'd have like a couple that could erase screens of enemies and a few that did next to nothing. I mean it was still fun to just play around with whatever you got but it still limited the variety.
the combat seems really interesting after transitioning to 3D, seems like the game is leaning into combat as much as it is a platformer, always good to have an action platformer
I think that's always been a theme with mainline kriby gameplay, with its common focus on arenas and all. Honestly I think a kirby game that would play like baby's first DMC would be a great fit.

This feels like the first game in years that I'm actually just hyped for. Feels like everything about it is right, I hope it's good. And maybe this will be the game where people finally accept Bandana Dee is part of the main Kirby cast, so tired of seeing people say he's not a main character when talking about adding him to Smash :P
Bandana dee has been on several adventures with Kirby at this point in both 4 players and 2 player co-op, if there are still people that don't consider him a Main character then they clear don't play the games.
Kirby Return to dreamland/Adventure wii should have solidified his inclusion with the main cast if not Battle Royale! Where he's literally the second protagonist!
As Nintendo fans, we all love little cousin Kirby, but It's been a long time since Kirby has had this much relevancy in the community, a long time since Kirby had felt as respected as a Mario or Zelda. It's cool they're able to bring out the Kirby fan in us all, making for conversations we barely have as Nintendo fans. It's nice
This is the kind of presentation I wish a certain other game looked that also went with a more open exploration approach. This game looks really fun and charming. A 3D Kirby could be a nice refresh for the series how 3D Mario did for those games.

I don't know if it was just me but I always seemed to dodge the waddle-dees. They never really seemed to want to hurt me and sometimes they were just sleeping, I mean, how could I in good conscience eat someone who was sleeping?
Kirby doesn't often kill waddle dees out side of game play.
The only examples I can think of off the top of my head are a few kirby triple deluxe scenes.
For Kirby’s neutral special, he wields a gun, jokes aside the game looks amazing and I can’t wait to play it

This is my childhood dream come true to have a truly 3D Kirby game, and the fact that it's open world on top of that is just 💖
It does look amazing, but I don't believe it is an "open world" game (unless you constitute open-world differently than the general term applies to video games such as Breath of the Wild).
Very much looks like you can fly around and choose linear levels that are environmentally interconnected/transitioned. The level selections can be seen at 0:56. So I don't believe they'll be interconnected, as in, you could just walk freely between areas. Likely just dedicated sections with each level having an end (perhaps when you rescue the waddle dees). Something similar to 3D World, it looks to be, though certainly more dynamic!
Curious if you will be able to move the camera at all, or just for certain sections.
It isn't open world. It looks like there is a main town and a stage select.

Well, this has got to be the most casual release date announcement I’ve ever seen for a major video game franchise!
I’m super stoked to play this game. It really looks like HAL Laboratory is going all out with this title, and I’m really excited to see how they’ve adapted “Kirby” to a 3D platformer.
The Switch Paper Mario game, Origami King was just released in a random video online one day as well.

CJ is right. This was revealed in the huge direct last year. It was just overshadowed by Legend of Zelda BOTW 2, Pokemon BDSP, and Pokemon Legends of Arceus.

The graphics look absolutely stunning, especially for the settings near the 1:20 mark! Even the Waddle Dee Town on its own has me hyped up!
However, like always in the Kirby fashion, there’s gonna have to be a terrifying eldritch abomination as the game’s final boss. I wonder how they’re gonna pull it off for this game.
There is a decent chance they're starting slow since this is the first 3D Kirby game, and they'll ramp up the final bosses as 3D Kirby progresses.

I honestly haven't been that excited for a Kirby game since 2011. This has changed that. This is exactly the fresh take on the series I wanted and it looks incredible.

As I expected it looks like the game isn't open world, but I still definitely appreciate that it has a lot of background elements and the beaten path isn't just made of flat straight paths. Makes the levels feel more like real locations, which this game definitely needs when the location seems to be a big focus, considering it's in the title of the game.

I prefer this style more, I feel this works much better than a more open world style of play. This way you can have dedicated levels focused on specific copy abilities and theme the levels, challenges and enemies around them. This more focused/structured approach works waaaay more for Kirby imo.
That's fair. Remember this is kirby's first 3D title. They aren't just gonna jump the gun from 2D sidescroller to open world. They need to test the waters first.
Why does absolutely no one consider Galaxy. This looks a lot more like Galaxy 2 than 3D world, which works for better as a way to start developing 3D platformers

I really loved seeing Bandana Dee as player 2! He has essentially become the "Yoshi" of the Franchise. where he may be a little generic and is pretty much another member of his species, but he's easily the one of protagonists most valuable and important allies. Having him be the player 2 in this game over the helpers like superstar, or Meta Knight even is a great way to give him some recognition.

To me he feels a bit more like Toadette/Captain Toad for the same reason. He’s was a really fun evolution of the character (and even though I absolutely love them, probably a more creative idea than just some different colored Kirby’s lmao)
I never really understood why people think Bandana Dee is so generic. Like, I get that Waddle Dee is a species that can essentially serve as a Goomba, but Bandana Dee is a specific Waddle Dee that consistently shows up as a main character in these games. It’s like saying Yoshi is generic at this point because there’s so many of different colors and in a lot of games you just ride on them.

Its hypothesized that meta knight, kirby, and galacta knight are part of the same species but they each have different abilities and in kirby's case a different type of soul which is what gives kirby his copy ability different to others in his species. Bandana Dee is the species of waddle dee yet he's unique that he is well versed in a spear like how galacta knight has a lance yet being the same species as meta knight/kirby.

I’m shocked by this tbh, it looks great. Based on how little they showed last year I was expecting its release to come around may at the earliest but now that I see this it looks like production is going on quite well. I would’ve never guessed it was coming out in the latter half of March, but hey this game looks amazing and I am here for it. Kirby hype always feels good! And of course the ost is on point as always.
I mean. This game did have a rumor saying that:
*“Kirby and the forgotten land was kept secret for almost 5 years”*
The best thing about this is because it's now in 3 dimensions there is room for more variety in hat powers.
One small issue with old Kirby games was many powers felt redundant or inferior to other ones because you'd have like a couple that could erase screens of enemies and a few that did next to nothing.
I mean it was still fun to just play around with whatever you got but it still limited the variety.

I think that's always been a theme with mainline kriby gameplay, with its common focus on arenas and all. Honestly I think a kirby game that would play like baby's first DMC would be a great fit.

Bandana dee has been on several adventures with Kirby at this point in both 4 players and 2 player co-op, if there are still people that don't consider him a Main character then they clear don't play the games.
Kirby Return to dreamland/Adventure wii should have solidified his inclusion with the main cast if not Battle Royale! Where he's literally the second protagonist!
