      I have one... they break in wierd. Honestly I feel like they are less forgiving. OF gloves have a better pocket. The paddle is nice for digs... but you've gotta be so much more precise or it bounces back out. • @balej83
    @balej83 ปีที่แล้ว

    Had this pop up randomly on my feed and I started watching… what’s the point of the pitcher faking a pitch? It’s not like the ball is coming at you at an extreme speed to where the batter cannot adjust accordingly. Let’s be honest ,it’s not a fastball or much less girls fast pitch where velocity is real. Genuinely wondering

    • @sw48
      @sw48  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The pitcher has 5 seconds to release the pitch. This isn't baseball where you are trying to get the batter to miss the pitch. This is softball where contact is a given so you are trying to get the hitter to miss the sweet spot on the bat by a fraction of an inch to give his fielders a chance to stab a line drive. Completely different than baseball or fastpitch. The goal is a 70% on base percentage for a batter.

    • @balej83
      @balej83 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sw48 thanks so much for the explanation. I did figure it was some sort of ploy to get the batters off there mark, I’m just still baffled pitchers at this level of play even try this. I feel that these softball players are top notch/pro players so even with the fake pitch tactic, these batters still have WAY more than enough time to adjust.

    • @coreym7694
      @coreym7694 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In lower classes it can throw off timing a little and it really annoys some people so bad that they forget how to hit. It doesn’t affect these guys like that but any slight advantage helps at this level I’m sure

      In softball if you don't hit a strike your onbase percentage will drop 150 points. Yes you can hit any pitch but the goal is to maximize your onbase percentage.
