CORRECTION FOR CLEANING THE OVEN GLASS DOOR PANEL: please note, I recommend using a NON-SCRATCHING scrub pad (the blue one!) to avoid small micro scratches. The green one I used is heavy duty and CAN cause tiny scratches. I don’t care about this oven because as I said, it’s going to the junk yard on Monday, but I realize it was the WRONG tool to use and I wanted to point that out to you guys! SORRY! And thank you to those that pointed it out to me. I was totally not thinking about longevity of this darn thing when filming! ❤️
I love this video 😍 I really would like to see a video or even just advice on how to get clean an electric solid stove plate. I have tried bicarb and dish soap with a toothbrush, different cleaners for the store but nothing seems to get them to look completely clean. Been struggling with this issue for over a year, I have found no TH-cam videos or web pages that have anything that actually works :(

I`m glad that u make this video of cleaning the whole oven finally. When I searched videos of how to clean an oven, they only show u how to clean the racks and the door.
YES!! I inherited an oven several years ago and it was so greasy I never managed to clean it completely. It never ends. I needed this video so much! Thank you, Melissa :)
Just want to say how well this worked!! I've tried using harsh chemicals, and nothing happens except my kitchen stinks and I end up with a headache! My oven is now clean!! Thanks so much!!

Thank you so much feel like you're helping me become a proper adult 😅
This is very useful! When I lived in apartments, I used to just move away in order to obtain a clean oven, but now that I'm in a house I suppose I should learn how to do this. I like that I do not have to use EZ-OFF for this - I have bad memories of that smell from childhood.
Thanks for video, I enjoy them, will try it. I hate deep cleaning an oven I find quickly wiping inside oven and glass door EVERY time I use it with washing up liquid and water and then buffing to a shine keeps it in showroom condition! Also I use a tray under casseroles that could spill over or use a special oven liner on the bottom of oven that you wipe off, prevents burnt on nasties in the first place 😀
Try cutting those large 3M pads into 1/3rds. It will make it much easier to use and you won't drag the clean part of the pad thru the parts you are scrubbing with your finger tips. Also, a razor blade window scraper such as you use to remove paint from windows works well at cleaning the glass in the oven. Just use a fresh razor blade as they tend to rust and will scratch the glass if they do.
A very experienced appliance repair person came in to replace a control board for my oven. He told me to never use the self-cleaning option on an oven, especially an older model. He states that it wears out an oven more quickly and it'll frequently damage heating elements, temperature sensors and even the electronic control boards. He suggested doing what this video states and to scrape off debris with a plastic scraper, wipe the rest down with some vinegar and anything that is really stuck on to just leave it.
@OptoPhone All of this makes total sense to me except one very important step- "Anything that is really stuck on, JUST TO LEAVE IT"?? An appliance repair "specialist" and this was his BEST oven cleaning advice for baked on, stuck on globs of food- THAT was the very best he could advise you to do?? Surely there HAS to be a way to remove those stubborn, burnt on chunks of food? Its been thru my own trial & error that any pieces of food, anything that's spilled before, during or when removing the baked dish, if not promptly cleaned as soon as the oven is cool, will only cause this baked on food particle will continue to keep being baked on with every use of the oven, will just continue getting "baked on" your oven eventually getting so burnt on that it becomes black and will eventually
I had a Samsung oven destroy the control board. The technician told me that the board was destroyed by the high heat used when using the self clean feature. It was during the Covid lockdown. I couldn’t get a replacement control board in the near future. Samsung products made in China. I had to buy a new oven.
Was literally just watching your self cleaning oven video from 9 years ago and you posted this new video 2 hours ago! Thank you! This video is going to be the more relevant one for me.
Today was literally oven cleaning day but I didnt have do nearly as much as you even though I live in an apartment. The person before me took really good care of the oven and all I've had to do is keep up with it but that window is so greasy! Definitely going to try the product you used.
Just a heads up. If you make a paste from powdered dishwasher soap (the cheaper brand the better) & a little water & rub it on then let it set for a bit it loosens everything stuck on and makes cleaning your oven a breeze without all that scrubbing. I add a little soap onto my scrubber & scrub off anything left then wipe it out and rinse with vinegar water. You can also lift anything stuck to pans or bakeware by filling with warm water & adding a little dry dishwasher soap then let it set for half on hour or longer and wash all the baked on stuff off easy peasy.
I vacuum the crumbs out of the oven and bake a pan of water to soften the gunk like how you clean a microwave. Not sure if it's a good idea to do all the time but it worked for me before.
You have inspired me so much!! I spent yesterday and today cleaning out every single kitchen cabinet! We have so much recycling and so many things to donate! And the squirrels are happy to eat our expired nut butter and crackers. I have also moved on to my bathroom drawers. Can you please share where to buy that little scraper? Thank you so much!!

Most warranties only last a couple years and they only cover manufacturer defects... chances are you don't have a warranty to preserve anymore. If your oven is working well and has been for a long time any issue that might pop up soon probably wouldn't be covered by a manufacturer's warranty anyway. Clean in peace Cheers!

I just "finished" cleaning my oven your way. It took me two hours because I still can't get all the dishwashing liquid off. My oven is almost as dirty as when I started. OH MY GOD. I just moved into my first place (I rent a room but my housemates don’t use the kitchen so it’s mine!) but the oven from the previous tenants is disgusting. I cleaned the stove top and the racks and they look a million times better but I love baking and it’s so sad when I can’t use the oven! So I’m definitely thanking you, I didn’t want to use the oven solutions 🤢
Omg I’ve been waiting for the oven one for 7 years haha I feel so much closure now 🥹 The best thing that came out of my oven this year was a lasagna with handmade pasta sheets big enough for 10 people. Thank you for this video!
You can use Arm & Hammer's Super Washing Soda for more cleaning power. I think of it as baking soda's stronger cousin. :-) Per the Arm & Hammer website: "Ovens, Range Tops, and Broiler Pans - Ease these messy jobs with a solution of ½ cup Super Washing Soda dissolved in a gallon of warm water. For stubborn, crusted soils, sprinkle Super Washing Soda dry on a damp sponge to scour quickly and easily. Remove burners and soak in solution for at least 30 minutes to banish greasy build-up. Rinse well and dry." Probably best to wear gloves. All the best!
It's really easy to apply this paste with a paintbrush. and the best technique is to leave the oven light on (for a small amount of heat) and let this sit overnight. It dissolves the gunk and makes it much easier to clean off.
And how do you clean the oven interior top among the element coils. I am having a difficult time to rinse that part. It is a part of the oven after all
When I bought my new oven, I had the tech come out to recalibrate the oven temp gage. When we were talking, he advised not using the self clean on the oven because it shortens the life of the oven. So, clean as much as you can with mild cleaners to keep your oven clean and minimize the self clean feature.
@@lauren8627 it's like that where i live too and i think it's ridiculous, like it's acceptable for something like that to stop working after 2 years. I'm not changing my oven every 2 years, who agreed that yes, 2 years is a reasonable amount of warranty to give consumers for a high ticket item 😂🤦♀️
@@mmmmmmolly It's really is sad they 'don't make things how they used to'. So wasteful. Too much high tech electronics and disposable mindset. Oops I just turned into my grandma!
I can't use a lot if chemicals because the smells trigger migraines. As a result a quarter of the bottom of my stove was solid black. It finally occurred to me to try Brillo. 99% of the black on the stove is gone.
I use baking soda (4 parts) mixed with water(1part) and vinegar2parts) and a little bit of dish soap. Put them in a bowl, it has to be watery. Turn on the oven for 15-20 min .I leave it inside of the bowl, and later when i will use a sponge i will put it on the surface . Later everything is softer and easily to be removed. For stains that are too difficult i put some baking soda into a soft sponge and it will work. I use vinegar at the end to clean the oven because baking soda leaves residue. At the end I turn on the oven ,at the max for 15 min so there is nothing harmful left inside and it's safe to use it.
I like so much that she is real and doesn't have any phoney pretences about house cleaning! How did you remove the bottom burner? I am sorry your arm hurts but thanks for the video!
Please give me some advice on how I can clean my neff combo oven microwave of which the interior is stainless steel I've hardly had it for 3 weeks and the back wall where the fan is has become so soiled I've tried the neff cleaning gel that they recommended but not worked what can I use please
Use caution when using this paste as to not push it into any seam crevices as you will not be able to wipe it out of the seams. Later after it dries it will fall out of these crevices as a soapy powder. I used this method two months ago and Am continuously wiping dry residue from these areas, even after using a dry clean toothbrush to try to remove the stuck paste. It worked just be careful where you push the paste.
Your question is tough, both my husband and I baked some really good things this year, like bread and Cookies (chocolate chunks is the new chocolate chips, people!), but I think the best goes to my first (and second) time trying to make an apple pie - it was beyond delicious!
Can you please do a video on cleaning a ceramic top stove and aqua lift self clean oven? We just bought one and I want to clean it properly to keep it looking great. Thanks
What product would you recommend for camouflaging knicks and shining wood furniture? I tried an Old English scratch cover furniture product but it's not working. Thx
If the furniture is solid wood and not veneer coated particle board this is the method that I use to fix up any dings or dents: Use a stripping cleaner like dish soap first. Then treat the nicks and scrapes. Light wood stain use strong brewed light colored tea like chamomile. Medium wood stain use strong black tea. Dark wood stain use strong coffee. Soak a cotton cloth with your liquid and wipe over the entire surface. Feel free to concentrate on the scarred areas. Let the surface dry completely then polish and seal with your preferred wood furniture polish... I like beeswax but I have some family antiques. If they aren't antiques feel free to use pledge spray or similar wood polish... I have quite a few friends that swear by the method brand cleaners and sprays for wood furniture and flooring. I hope this helps! Cheers 😊

Your videos are relaxing for me. Seriously. I also learn a lot from them.
Omg I’ve been waiting for the oven one for 7 years haha I feel so much closure now 🥹
The best thing that came out of my oven this year was a lasagna with handmade pasta sheets big enough for 10 people.
Thank you for this video!
Thank you for the video I will be cleaning our oven today.
You can use Arm & Hammer's Super Washing Soda for more cleaning power. I think of it as baking soda's stronger cousin. :-) Per the Arm & Hammer website: "Ovens, Range Tops, and Broiler Pans
- Ease these messy jobs with a solution of ½ cup Super Washing Soda dissolved in a gallon of warm water.
This really works!! I had my doubts but iv never seen my oven cleaner.. took alot of elbow grease 💪 😬
Start at 3:24. You're welcome
LEASE CLEAN NEWCASTLE likes this video. Thankyou from lease clean newcastle. Please make more as helps in training.
And how do you clean the oven interior top among the element coils. I am having a difficult time to rinse that part. It is a part of the oven after all
Thanks for this video. I have asthma and have been trying to find out how to clean my oven without using harsh chemicals.
Thank you! Great tips!
All the best from Fareham in the UK
The best thing to come out of my ovens (2020 and before) is always my roast lamb and veggies 😍
When I bought my new oven, I had the tech come out to recalibrate the oven temp gage. When we were talking, he advised not using the self clean on the oven because it shortens the life of the oven. So, clean as much as you can with mild cleaners to keep your oven clean and minimize the self clean feature.
great job!!!! inspiring, y not add white vinegar to your original mix?
When you're not worried about voiding the warranty your oven's so old 😂
I was thinking that and then I was like if your oven isn't that old and dead already that's a problem!
Yeah warrenties often only last 2 years in Australia. Take that door apart! 😂
That tends to be when people do indeed remove the door glass and do it themselves...
I can't use a lot if chemicals because the smells trigger migraines. As a result a quarter of the bottom of my stove was solid black. It finally occurred to me to try Brillo. 99% of the black on the stove is gone.
Yay! The video I have been waiting for from cleanmyspace! 😍🪣🧽
Thank you so much. I'm so afraid to cleaning oven. Are you sure it's not harmful for burning?ill try to clean like this. 😊👌
Yes!!! Now your collection is complete!!
Thanks for a great tutorial! I never use the self-cleaning function. It gets so hot it can ruin the circuit board and cause the need for repairs.
It worked beautifully... thank you very much ❤
I've been waiting 12 years for this
Can you please do a video on cleaning a ceramic top stove and aqua lift self clean oven? We just bought one and I want to clean it properly to keep it looking great. Thanks
#askmelissa your diy fabric softener won’t ruin a microfiber cloth right?
Once a week clean and wipe what you can from the oven to keep it from building up It helps a lot
Good video. Just could not get what you used to clean the glass door?
Ashu K, she used Bar Keepers Friend.
Thank you so much, your cleaning tips always help me 🤗
Thanks for the update
What are tour thoughts on the “soft” liquidy bar keepers friend?
Cheers 😊
@@suzanneriding3237 I will have to do my research on the type of wood I have in order for one of these methods to work.
Thank you!
Thank you!!! Can you use the same technique for the "roof" of the oven?
Is it a good idea, though, to clean up the residue with a microfibre cloth, since the grease might ruin the cloth?
