THIS IS THE VIDEO I'VE BEEN BEGGING FOR!!!! I'm sitting here with extremely chafed nips from this morning after having spent a half hour death-scrolling through Amazon looking for something that works; then, like manna from above, this video is at the top of my TH-cam feed. Way to give the people what we need!
You definitely need to try NipEaze transparent nipple covers. They are very thin but stop absolutely all rubbing or irritation and nobody can tell you are wearing them. I've used them and they really were good at what they are for and they don't come off until you take them off.
I used body glide, works great, repurchased a couple times then stopped because I think it is expensive here in the UK. The Aptonia one from Decathlon feels like Vaseline and is not as durable. Zone 3 is natural, I still didn't get to use it. Squirrel nut butter I really enjoyed for super long runs, feels also like it nourishes the skin. And lastly, I have used Assos chamois butter for cycling but found it works well for running too but is expensive. As of now, Squirrel nut butter is top of the list, I have the big Jar and the tiny tin
▫I use Excipial Lipocreme (it's 55% lipid content) on feet and nasty bits before the run ▫Libello chap stick as a backup during the run (as it's compact) ▫Comfyballs Performance boxers, prevents the skin-on-skin friction by shifting your bits away from your legs. I never buy shorts with liners as you don't know what you are getting ▫Another tip is to turn the underwear inside out so the seams are on the outside
I've had excellent results from both body glide and Sport Shield. Currently using Sport Shield and did my last ultra on 1 application and no chaffing at all. I sweat quite a lot when running too but all good. Also covered my feet in it and didn't get any blisters at all 👍
I have had some severe chafing on my scrotum this cycling season. Literally bleeding at the end of 50 to 60 mile rides even with excessive amounts of butter. I will try the 2Toms sport shield and pray it helps.
Man, I suffer badly from this too, it has gotten so bad that I feel I'm not capable of pushing myself any further not because of my stamina but because my thighs are bleeding
@@fernandoharo1661J am happy to say that the Body glide had stopped the chafing. I apply liberally a couple hours prior to the ride then again before i put my cycling shorts on. I pull up my shorts then pull the front down and add utter butter cream on each side of my goods. More is better. 300 miles and no chafing. Happy riding.
The best one I used in training and for marathons is Sudocrem (Nappy cream), cheap and effective, 60 gr for travel and a400gr for home :) i have seen also that Ben Parkes used this one :)
Never had a nipple issue but long runs can chafe upper thighs near the butt, skin glide in the green tube has worked best for me even up to a 55k. The lotion style is more sterile than trying to rub a bar up near the buttocks. Gross for sanitation and reuse. That's why I like the lotion style.
I forgot to mention , for shorter training runs I use a more affordable option diaper rash product called A+D Prevent ointment that you can buy at most drug stores. It comes in a 4 oz tube for around 8 bucks. it's like Vaseline with Lanolin
I've used Bodyglide for years in my prosthesis as it prevents the liner from pinching my skin behind my knee. I use inexpensive 3M Transport tape on the nips. A single roll lasts a loooog time.
@@TheRunTesters Wiil be attempting my 1st Comrades Marathon 9th of June hope to see you out there on those monstrous hills...Thanx for the video really needed the info
I didn't. I don't seem to chafe when running. Did the Brighton Marathon a couple of weeks ago. Chafe free for the run. Missus parked the car miles away from the finish line. Hobbling to the car for 4miles gave me awful chafe around the junk. Took ages to find the car, took the shine off a great day 😂
For me chafing starts to become a problem after about 25k. So halfs are no problem and I can easily go on a run without worrying about anything. Running a marathon without chafe prevention is killing me though!
Surgical micropore tape for nipple rubbing, cheap as chips and works for the vast majority of runs! About a tenner for a box of 12 rolls that lasts for ever!
I’m hairy as well but I don’t stick it on the hair. Just on the nipple. Just cut little round patches. It removes easily enough in the shower, off course it pulls a bit but it doesn’t hurt as much as nipple chave in the shower.
The 2Toms lid needs some texture - very hard to grip once it gets the lube on it! 😂 Also I did get some hard to remove marks on one of my shirts from it, but generally not the case so perhaps overapplied or a certain fabric more susceptible... It is generally very good however, and not too exorbitantly priced.
Definitely one of the most important videos a runner should watch! 🏃♂️ 🚿 😱
We agree!

Mr. Nipple from Amazon is a fantastic product! Highly recommended over these products if you’re running for more than an hour
We're here to save nipples!

Use some band aids yo

I am very pleased with TRISLIDE skin lubricant spray. I mostly apply it on my toes and I virtually had no issues ever since I started using it.
Not tried that one. Thanks for the recco.

Nice tips. Thanks for sharing.
I use Chamois butter. V good value for money. Squirrels nut butter is very good but also v expensive

It's that one application for a day-long ultra that I really like.
One of those perfectly timed videos 😄
Ace 👍
It's always been spitting on my fingertips and gently massaging it onto my nipples from about mile 18 for me, so I appreciate this video 🙌🏻
Nice fragrance too I'm guessing. Though does it fry over a certain temp? ;-)
@@TheRunTesters Banana flavoured gels make for the best fragrance 😂

Bepanthen works wonders for me.
Ooh interesting shout. Not tried that.
Bepanthen Pro is the best one - contains silicon and is more slippery and lasts much longer.

Question: If you never had chafe even for half marathon, is there still chance you can chafe for a full marathon?
I didn't. I don't seem to chafe when running. Did the Brighton Marathon a couple of weeks ago. Chafe free for the run. Missus parked the car miles away from the finish line. Yes. Definitely.
this is gold!
Glad you think so.

I use the blue stretchy kinesiology tape. Small circle on the nipple only. Never needed the other stuff, but only ran up to about 25 kms
Does it hurt when you take them off?
I find this doesn't play nice with the hairier fellows. Firstly getting it stuck down and then the removal!
@@TheRunTesters I am considered very hairy and it works for me, you just need to remove it straight after the run when you're still sweaty!

Can we use boroplus on chafing or related ares
Thank you
Have you tried Chamois Butt'r? I know it's technically for cycling, but curious.
I use it. It works!!
I find Vaseline works just fine, and it's the cheapest.
The only issue is it can stain clothes a bit.
Yeah that’s the drawback.

That's very true actually. Can get a bit slippy.
I’ve heard two Toms can stain your clothing. Any feedback on that?
I've been using it for years and had no problems with regular technical running gear.
Huge thanks! Had not heard of the Tom's product. Will give it a go ASAP.
Every runner has their own favourites but for me it's the best.
Watching this with a burn 🔥 in my thighs after a run :(
Have you tried any of the spray on options?
I haven't those are next on my list in the hunt for the perfect anti-chafe.
Here's a money-saving tip for you: Try using coconut oil! You'll thank me later!
