    Baby nappy(diapers) rash cream.
    It creates a cold soothing barrier on the 2 pieces of skin that are rubbing together.
    But I'm a hiker.... And it works for me.

    HI Justin and thanks for your feedback. According to the author (John Vonhof) of "fixing your feet", it seems that ultra runners use a lot Tail Toe anti friction cream. Maybe a good product to test for you?

      Thanks, I’ll put it on my list! I actually haven’t had any problems with blisters at all lately, especially now that I’m back to more normal mileage in dry weather on the roads. When I was doing my ultras and getting in a lot of cold, wet miles, that really pushed it. Vonhof is pretty much the final authority on anything feet related; I’m sure he’s forgotten more than I know.

    Which of these products do you think would work best for achilles blisters?

    I use gold bond friction defense which goes on a bit easier than body glide and cheaper

      Interesting! How is it when wet?

      I’m a uni-sport guy for now, solely a runner so can’t weigh in on how it might perform under a wet suit etc. I do find that I get less oily stains on my cloths.

    using bodyglide on my nipples i got the worst smell ever on my clothes. And note that my clothes never smell. Switched to Squirell and so far i'm happy with it.

      Hey man, sorry to hear that. How far are your practices? Annoyingly I'd say if you're getting blisters on your heel, my first thought is that it's actually a fit issue with your shoes. You could googling "heel lock lacing" that might help reduce heel lift. That said, that shoe might just not work for you. That said shoes are expensive, so next options: Socks. Are you using low rise socks? If so, get some 1/4 length. Already using 1/4 length? Change material. I really like merino wool. Not all polyesters are the same. Some socks are straight up rough. Alright, so if the sock doesn't work, then what: I'd start with vaseline and just slather up and see if it helps. You might stain your socks, like I said, but worth a shot. If vaseline doesn't work, grab a tiny container of bodyglide and apply liberally. If THAT doesn't work, 1) you really have some badly fitting shoes, but 2) if you can't replace them, try some physical taping. Duct-tape on your heel is free if you already have some, otherwise get some KT tape or (better yet) Leukotape P and some TIncture of Benzoin. That combo WILL NOT come off, and should take care of all but the worst rubbing. Word of warning, don't put that combo over an open blister. If you're still getting blisters while using that, it means the skin layers are still shearing against each other, and then that's seriously a fit issue and I'd refer you back to new shoes. That's a lot of info I know, but it should take care of the whole gamut of possibilities.

    Have you ever tried the KT Tape brand of friction stick?

      I don't buy anything from KT Tape, so I don't know, sorry.

    Does the SNB stay on after the swim? Thanks!!!!

    • @JustinDoesTriathlon
      @JustinDoesTriathlon  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not as well as the BG. BG seems to last forever, but SNB can be watered off to some degree. For triathlon use, I'd probably BG a bunch morning of, then add SNB in T2 if blisters are a concern. Truthfully, I've only done the full BG+SNB move on my 50 milers.
