Is that some down draft MDF topped trash can you are usually drilling over? Looks interesting! Been trying to learn so I cad DIY a system in my new Bronco. Found you thorough crutchfield. You're both great!
Really interested in how you'll attach that icon when it is wrapped in vinyl, I would also like to add some icons/logos to upholstery, are there tips for that??
Hi Mark How are you? Like the videos you do. Makes me think about the stuff I used to do (wrongly!) and how much better it could have been. But young, low budget and trying to make some money off others with low budgets…. Can I ask, what size is your cnc router? I’m in the process of buying one, but the ones I can afford are online so I can really get a feel of suitability. What you do would be bigger than I intend so figure that is a good idea to copy. If I ever go and do sound system installs again I’ll get one of your designs and can use it to cut. Thanks! By the way - dark emblem on grey vinyl would be my vote
Wouldn't it be easier to just add a magnet in the middle so the customer can swap the logos if he wants a little change? Just a thought. But love watching your videos and have learned a lot from you. Thank you
A t first I thought black would be better but when I saw this gray vinyl I think the silver emblem is better. You'll have to decide when it's more finished
Great videos brother as always. Had a question for you that I needed help with. It's about amplifier power matching to speakers. Why when Dyno testing amps with sine waves we get the rated power usually but when testing music, we get about like Half the rated power. Should we then buy an amplifier that is double the power for the speakers to get the most from them? Eg. Dyno on amp sine wave 1khz 500 rms. Midrange speaker is 500rms continuous. But when playing music, the amp fluctuates around 200 to 250 rms music power. So should I get an amp that is like 1000rms so the music power will be around the 500rms continuous for the speakers ? Thanks for any feedback.
I’ve got some subs I’m working on and the wire is to big for the sub terminals I was wondering if I could unscrew the tinsel leads and put some ring terminals under the screws for the wires
I got a question if you make 10 cubic inch enclosure and insulate the equivalent of half of the area (reznant preventer and Acoustic fur) is it still a 10 cubic inch enclosure
Hi Mark. Looks very nice, but the amount of MDF you're using doesn't it make your car twice as heavy. Isn't there any possibility to make it strong and dampened without using so much MDF.
@Bfraz00 Well, a customer of mine is a professional carpenter/kitchen builder. I didn't have the time to make my own box. I asked him to build me an 80 liter birchply box for my two Morel Ti124's. It's really quite lighter than MDF, which I normally use. The reason I asked for birchply was that it's more water-resistant compared to MDF, and I've been told it's as strong, if not stronger than MDF. I sincerely assure you it's lighter than MDF.
@Bfraz00 But the Morels are light, even they can handle 1000 watts RMS. The other two subs, which I have, Focal Utopia 10WM, are 10 inch and weigh more than the Morels, which are 12 inches. Strange, I can't explain it to.....
@@umtbozkr2358 typically audio builders use 13 ply birch and a 4x8’ sheet of it is only a few pounds lighter than MDF. It’s so minor most folks don’t even bother. In the grand scheme of an audio build if you’re looking to shave every last pound you wouldn’t be adding a large subwoofer box anyways. And none of my components are subject to water intrusion so that’s a non-factor for most applications.
@Bfraz00 You're right, and that's the reason buying a powerful car to compensate the extra weight. We are talking about the material of the sub box. What about soundproofing? You can't imagine how many people use MDF for speaker adapters. My main reason for birch was the weight, durability, and the strength op birch in comparison to MDF. I have been in car audio since 1995, so 28 years. You like MDF. I'm fine with it, but I don't agree.

The black emblem looks sick bro.
The dark logo looks amazing
Mark is a wizard with his routers! Amazing!
No underestimation, this guy is an actual legend. My lord, his work.
Appreciate that but I'm just a normal dude like you! Hope my videos help you learn how to do this too!
@@CarAudioFabrication It's the dedication to the craft for so many years that's so inspiring. Keep up the incredible work man.
Dark emblem up against the grey for sure. Would also match the one on the sub itself more too.
i like the black emblem against the grey. Nice work as usual, Mark.
VERY NICE work as always !!!!
Could you please do a follow up, on how you designed and laser cut the emblems. they look so COOL !!
Learned something new today , need to get that cool attachment for my handheld router and a collar setup , thanks mark
When it comes to care audio, this guy is a genius.
The positive image looks good.
The black logo for sure
You know you’ve made it as a TH-camr when your flexing Woodpecker layout tools!😂😂
One day you need to show us all the tools you have bud. You got a tool for everything😂. Kind of jealous hahahaha
Looks awesome! Makes me want to rebuild my sub box!
Your work is amazing bro 👊
El logo gris se vería muy bien.
I think the gray one looks pretty good on that black vinyl.
Dark on the grey

Light(grey) coloured emblem would be great for this design

Positive image emblem. Th rule of three...😊
Looks great! I'd go with the silver emblem for sure!

Hey 👋🏽 Mark can you do a video on creating a design to be cut on acrylic for say a speaker grill on a laser

What would be the minimal size of a proper box for this sub?
The dark one!

I think the emblem "color" depends on the interior of the vehicle. They both look sweet, but with the gray vinyl, the "negative" might look better.

Could you post links to where you purchase your vinyl?
What are your thoughts on the 12w7 h.o box
Dark one
I have a 2 12w7 running on Rockford Fosgate T2500 is that the right amp or should I get 2 Jl vx 1000/1 amp need advice

Where can I find the plans for this box? I could not find them on your website.

10 cubic inch? That´s too tiny for any sub...

You could use Birch but it’s not that much lighter than MDF. A single 3/4” box like this weighs less than the sub itself!

how to urder subwoofer 10 inch JL audio w6
Go with dark color
Over the Grey, id use the light coin. I'd likely also add some leds and fiber runs in the groves. But I immediately went to ironman enclosure
Negative display logo. 👍🏼
