    James Simmonds is a former Chelsea Academy player who returned to the club in a coaching capacity and is now assistant coach to the Under-18s. In a full training session delivered exclusively for CV Academy, he took his players through a series of practices aimed at developing their transitional play.
    In this excerpt from the second practice, which James has adapted from a Pep Guardiola drill, one team tries to maintain possession; the opposition team presses and attempts to win the ball before creating an opportunity to score in attacking transition.

    Quality here. Nice little rondo progression as well for younger age groups to see the functionality from being in possession to losing it. Makes the threat of losing possession that much more real when someone is going to a goal to score because you misplayed.
