    I love how the coach progressively adds clear points/instructions while in between give the kids space to play and figure things out. The boys seem to be having a blast. Excellent session!

    The coaches use of questioning is very good. It really gets them thinking and he comes across in a positive way to make a simple practise very informative

      That makes learning for the players easier. It is always better when the players get to the solution by theirselves.

      Called asking leading questions. I can’t speak for the English FA, but the US Soccer coaching licensing they talk about using it often

    Thanks for the video, i appreciate that this is a session with grassroot players. From vidoes with academy players it is harder to learn, because every player there is so skilled that there are no inerruption by bad technique or else...thx

      They're with the fa, they're essentially paid to come so they show attention. With grassroots, half the youngers are still baby sitting

    Nice to see. But the defensive aspects of this drill need to be worked on simultaneously. It feels as if the players who aren't "in possession" have very little idea about how to regain "possession". Consequently the team with the ball appears to be much better and more creative than they perhaps are as they are under very little pressure a great deal of the time. The nature of the drill tends to radically favour the team with the ball, which is fine to practice easy possession but it is rather too easy to my mind, particularly for players with a high skill level such as these players.

    • @Nolan.Gurule

      Well then get the players that don’t have the ball to be more aggressive

    • @investingfc3399
      @investingfc3399 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Looks to be about the Width of the Penalty Area (36 yards) from 18 to midfield (~42 yards). Cones are dividing the field in 3 zones both width and depth. Make it smaller from the width to increase difficulty.

    I would love to use this drill but the truth is players are coming to me with serious 1st touch deficiencies. I wish clubs in the US would teach the technical skills in unified way instead of leaving rec coaches to thier own devices, which usually results in hoofball

    its easy to coach kids who can already play. Try coaching 12-15 year olds who cant pass or control a ball!

    • @jotey5129
      @jotey5129 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I absolutely agree. These kids can play.
      Imagine a different set of boys:
      Coach says Play!
      Under no pressure at all, the first kid passes the ball straight off the field...
      Spend 30 mins with some kids that are still learning to receive the ball.
      Never mind coaching methodology, the simple human frustration will not allow you coach so calmly and beautifully!
