Just sharing my patch so far in case that helps: I started picking up balls for a small local club a couple of years ago. I became an assistant coach a year later and recently took up a head coach position at another small local club. It's all volunteering work. I also just signed up to start getting licensed.
Fantastic video. Love the weekly breakdown approach and the blend of purposeful, consistent but adaptable exercises each day. Super helpful for all us amateur coaches out there.
great video!how much time did you spent to create the post match analysis and the opponent analysis in the week?I like to see the prospective from analyst, how you communicate with coaches, with players etc.Great work both of your channels.
Post match we would watch the match back on the Sunday, then I would go and collect all the clips and edit them together, so it was ready for Monday afternoon. Opposition would take me a couple days, I would aim to have it ready by Tuesday and then we would split it into 3 videos. Sometimes I would work on it before our previous match so it was ready for the Monday
your TH-cam chanel work is so incredibly complete and professional I love it! I have become in love with tactical analysis ever since watching your videos at football meta and now in The Coach Book. Keep the great work man! and thanks for sharing
Great video ! So glad this channel exists !! I didn't know your background, maybe a video about it would be interesting. To me it would be at least :D keep it up !
Hey loved the video and really appreciate all of the ideas / content you share!! I’d be very interested to hear your thoughts in a similar video based on when you had midweek games. I coach in a league where midweek games are the normal throughout the year and would love to hear the approach you took and how you prioritized the restricted time and energy of the team. Again though, thank you for sharing all you do!
Great video. I completely understand the purpose of analysing the opponent and uderstand the idea of attaching to the opponents weaknesses and strengths. But I dislike the idea of working always three days on them. Imo its most important to build your own identity and improve it to the very maximum. Because your identity and way of playing should be the reason why you are winning. And the closer you are to perfect, that more chances you will have to win. How do you think about it?
Give the player’s individual task to complete if it gets easy progress with making it less successful for the players if he struggles to get success keep asking him what could help him how could he get himself out of the situation at started it’s going lead to failures but the challenge would make him mature in the game
lol I did this exact same structure and even did some of the same drills for my competitive u14 club team, and I got fired. Gotta love American soccer culture. “Parents are not understanding why you spend training time watching game clips”.
Yes I worked directly with the team, on the pitch too helping with setting up the exercises (you can see me in some of the clips if you look carefully haha)
Hey meta ! I think you r busy and can't make a video on this channel, but i think this channel can make my life change, i'm 19 but i wanna be a coach surprisingly, i love tactic and just build something in my 3 year views of how football works. But as of now i'm in a confused situation because my football knowledge is now like ''scattered file'' so i want it to be puzzled. please help me please 🙏
Masterpiece! Can you please make a video about the same set up for the week but you have a mid week game for example wednesday.. How would the practices change ? Thank you!
Coaches like him should not be coaching youth team. he is not developing players who can make decisions in the game, he is developing players only able to repeat. repeating pattern are only a solution to win games, not to develop players. if it was in the first team then no problem, but in the youth development this type of training should be banned. People might be fooled as they see wininng = development but that cannot be farther from the truth. and that is why, especially in italy, young talent struggle to flourish. they are not trained to make decision by themselves but trained in repeating pattern. 2 problem with that. players move team, once the move, they need to learn a new repeating pattern, meaning that at best it will take same time before they start performing, at worse they wont be able to do what is requested of them. also, at the elite level, pattern are easy to identify and block so now, a bunch of players that only knows a couple of repeating pattern, is put in a situation where they need to adapt and change. but they cant because they are not trained to make decision independently, they are trained to repeat like computer, but football is far from being a repeating game. so, unless you have a natural talent in understanding football, no players will flourish at the elite level in this environment. instead of teaching and repeating pattern, coaches should learn to guide the player in problem solving. we want to score a goal and the opposition is playing in such and such way, what do we do? try this, try that, experience, fail, learn., in all of this coaches are guiding the players teachning them core principle of football. once they learn why things are done in a certain way they will be able to bring that with them everywhere they go and in any situation, they might lose so many games in the beginning because it is hard to make 11 synchronized thinking players but youth development is a long term investment, and as such, winning must not be seen as important. it is important to develop the players that can make decision autonomously in any situation. but, it is not even the coach fault, nowadays, even at youth level, what matters is winning or you get sacked, and as repeating pattern is the quickest and easiest way to win in the short period that is what even "elite" coach do.
5:16, this is an interesting idea. Play the entire team but on a small field and no defense. Helps work through positioning quickly with more room for error. Looks like a good way to teach an offense. No need to use the whole field and normal spacing.

Amazing content again!

ah, I guess I need to brush up on my Italian! Wonderful video.
Hopefully they won't all be with Italian managers haha
Great video!
Brilliant
Great!
Great content and well explained. What editing software do you use for the graphics on the pitch?
Great video. Witch softwear do you use to create the "tactical" animations such as highlighting players, zones etc? Thks!
What type of exercices can you put in place to push players to think by themselves ?
Give the player’s individual task to complete if it gets easy progress with making it less successful for the players if he struggles to get success keep asking him what could help him how could he get himself out of the situation at started it’s going lead to failures but the challenge would make him mature in the game
would love to know where i can get that coaches board that you have in the background. Reminds me of what they use in the Coaches' Voice video
Where did you get the orange pitch art behind you from please? Good video too by the way😊
What type of exercices can we put in place to work on a defensive bloc ?
Which software did you use to add graphics like arrows with text, player movement trajectory, and ball path?
lol I did this exact same structure and even did some of the same drills for my competitive u14 club team, and I got fired. Gotta love American soccer culture. “Parents are not understanding why you spend training time watching game clips”.
Did you live in Italy when you were doing the analysis or were you watching videos and doing it remotely? Either way it's super impressive
Yes I worked directly with the team, on the pitch too helping with setting up the exercises (you can see me in some of the clips if you look carefully haha)
10/10 wow!

How to overtrain players with one day off a week. No wonder Italian teams play at a slower pace.
ayoooo who is this cutie?? 🧐
new channel?
