      I'm so glad. It was a sweet moment with the kiddos for me. But I am pretty sure that will be the last time I sing for you. Ha!

    That menthol is gorgeous! I use it in an essential oil headache pain reliever. What a beautiful overview of the endless bounty that is all around us if we remember how to use it. I'm going to try the garlic honey... wonderful idea! Thank you for such a gorgeous and informative video. 🤍🤍🤍

    I’m not experienced at all with lots of herbs, but the first thing I thought when you identified the menthol lip balm came to mind!

      Yes it is! But why is it so incredibly rewarding?! I love seeing the jars lined up in our pantry so much. I don't know that I'll do it so much when our kids are gone, - or maybe I'll do more of it. Ha!

    One thing to note, I found out recently that elderberry is actually not a high acid berry like most. It’s apparently not safe to water bath can by itself. I add lemon juice and honey, which helps.

    • @TIDBITSandCompany
      @TIDBITSandCompany  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for sharing that with us Cynthia. I was worried about it too and we actually got out our PH test strips to make sure it was in the safe zone. But I think next time I'll add the lemon juice and honey like you suggested. It would make it yummier anyway!

    When you make the mint extract, what happens to the vodka? Does it get poured off?

  • @teresadtone8862
    @teresadtone8862 ปีที่แล้ว

    Maybe an extract with the menthol...or a rub like Vick's? Also could it work as an essential oil in a diffuser. Or....an ingredient for a throat lozenge? Wow.....now I want to grow some😂❤

    • @TIDBITSandCompany
      @TIDBITSandCompany  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is what I thought would work too. Could be useful during cold and flu season for sure! Thanks for watching!

  • @SandraAverett

    You could make shower bombs with the menthol…a great way to open up the sinuses. Or your own epsom salts for soaking in the bath when sick. 😊

    • @TIDBITSandCompany
      @TIDBITSandCompany  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a great idea! I bet it would feel so good when you have a cold.
