    • @Yarkspiri
      @Yarkspiri  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's just really better options out there at the moment, so long as you're willing to take a bit more time settings things up. Also, at the time of recording this video the technology was still pretty new, so some changes may have been made since.

    I had the same issue that Wi-Fi box is trash it got bricked the first day I got it and I had to send it back for a new one and they wouldn’t do a replacement for the item and I needed it badly because there wasn’t anything else I could find to slice from my iphone because I currently don’t have a laptop or computer device.

    • @Yarkspiri
      @Yarkspiri  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh, that's rough. Some libraries/schools offer 3d printing services. You might be able to slice your files there??? I'm not sure if that's something which is feasible within your specific country.

    Does this box let you remote power off your printer?

    • @Yarkspiri
      @Yarkspiri  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did not find a feature like that during my testing. While it might be added in the future, it'll be limited to machines which have such an ability to begin with. Many of the Ender machines require that the power button be physically turned off in order to work.

      I wasn't able to test that feature since on the model I received I wasn't able to connect within the app. Even with support help at the time, I wasn't able to get it working. Someone else mentioned that there are new features now active, so I'll try again and post an update if I do get to work correctly.

    Hello ! I do not want to work with Creality wifi box with skr mini v2.0 board. and with the new android. I set this board because my Ender 3 was running quietly. help to understand. how to make work

    • @Yarkspiri
      @Yarkspiri  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unless you actually connect it to your printer, you shouldn't have to. Only a couple of printers have this integrated, and I'm working in a video to bypass that as we speak. You should be able to simply transfer your files to your motherboard through SD card or micro SD as per usual. Most SKR Mini V2.0 boards still have the SD card slot (normally labelled SD-M).

    • @Yarkspiri

      When testing this device, I tested another cable connection + another router during my troubleshooting steps. Unfortunately, these didn't resolve the issue at hand.

    • @Yarkspiri
      @Yarkspiri  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A combination of a raspberry pie with octoprint and any compatible camera. There's an online list of compatible cameras that have been added for Gphoto. I used that setup while doing some contract work and although it was confusing at first to learn (I didn't know anything about Linux at the time) it was well worth the effort.

      Unfortunately, I wasn't able to test that feature. I was unable to connect to the device to the cloud, therefore most of the features weren't activated. If I can ever get it working, I'll do a follow-up video.

    • @Yarkspiri
      @Yarkspiri  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Since this video, Creality has released the source code, and it's also now compatible with Klipper. So if you're willing to tinker with it, you might want this option. However, I'm still getting reports that there are issues with this device, so I'm currently unsure where is stands.

    The raspberry pi cost presently about $150 ….

    • @Yarkspiri
      @Yarkspiri  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      At the time of making this video, the price was quite a bit lower. But due to the shortages and people mining, the price has gone up quite a bit. However, there's now a new option which is still affordable. You can get the raspberry Pi Zero 2W which others have been able to use for this same purpose.

      Thank you for your kind reply, but I now have the Creality box, but I am very dissatisfied with it, because despite intensive efforts, I have not yet succeeded in transferring files from the MacBook to the printer via wifi. Only the useless cloud files can be loaded.
      All very unsatisfactory.

    • @Yarkspiri
      @Yarkspiri  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had similar issues and which is why I failed the product in my review. It may be cheap, but it really isn't worth it if it doesn't work. Some users have been able to install Klipper so that it adds additional functionality, but this is something which I haven't tested recently. Octoprint is still my go to for the time being, but I am hoping to learn Klipper sometime in the future.

      Do you have a time stamp for the aforementioned connection? It was something I verified on multiple occasions, and while it is possible that I used the different footage, since I had spent several hours connecting and reconnecting to resolve the issue.

    While directly connected to the box you WILL NOT have internet. At that point you must direct it towards your Wi-Fi router and then disconnect from it. This works the same for many products including some streaming boxes, garage door openers, even home assistant devices. Nothing new

    • @Yarkspiri
      @Yarkspiri  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just one problem. It uses a cloud based app, so it's pretty much useless at that point if it doesn't connect to the app. Also, I did try that. At the time, it just wouldn't connect.
