I think it also depends on how you wash also, I've seen some reviews where they separate by fabric types, and you can add in washer balls to help keep it from tangling and being so rough. I've also seen some full up the wash basin with more water (almost up to the drain overflow) and it was a bit gentler with the extra water

The mold thing is crazy but it make sense.
Does it gravity drain or does it have a pump to help it drain out?!

Be careful with this machine and similar models, they are ROUGH on cloth and really really speed up the damage to fabrics.
