I had a 16 foot fiberglass bass boat but had a 55lb thrust trolling motor. Costed more than the boat did. Luckily came with the boat. Would literally throw you in the water if you weren't paying attention.
May I ask the distance from your bow plate to water and the shaft length? Thx. I’m considering whether to put a 36 or 54 inch shaft trolling motor on my small aluminum boat.
I don't have this boat any more, but this trolling motor had a 48" shaft. That's the smallest length they make for the powerdrive. A 36" shaft would be found on a tiller controlled trolling motor. The bow was probably 24" above the waterline at most.
@@FloBass Thx so much for your reply. Mine bow to water only 13-15 inch to the most, I guess I have to go with the 36". The only one that short with spot lock is motorguide xi3 kayak...
If you have a boat, don't get the kayak one. You still need to have enough shaft in the water to compensate for the boat rocking up and down. The kayak one will be too short and the motor will come out of the water.
Better for clients. This way they have leg room in the front and don’t have to sit backwards when we’re moving. I plan on trimming the legs and the front around the trolling motor so I can still use it by myself.
Great stuff man! What is the thrust on the trolling motor? It moves the boat easily? The reason I am asking because I have the same boat with a 55LB Minn Kota and it's kind a straggle with the weight .
Looks like it has the same features as mine. Definitely get it. It's amazing the difference it makes not having to worry about constantly working the trolling motor.
Noooo dont buy a haswing. I bought the new haswing cayman gps 2020 version and the app no longer works in America. License not supported. Had to send it back. Today i ordered a riptide powerdrive. All good i feel better about having an investment in a product i can deal with the manufacturer if issues or upgrades are needed. Haswing never even got back to me after emailing them.
It's extremely rare to cross paths with a courteous jet skier on Lake Ida. Most have no regard for the wake they create, or any of the rules of the road. Or maybe they just don't care. Probably a good mix of both.
I searched trolling motors for bass boats. Yor video was first up. I got to watch you catch fish and whine a bunch. I don't know anymore about trolling motors than before. I could care less to watch somebody fish.
Great investment on that trolling motor...... fishing without struggle is the way to go.....
Really liking your videos bro! Looks like you have the addiction too! Don’t quit!
Thanks!

Make a video on how you installed your trolling motor on this jon boat.
I don't own it any more. Sold it and bought a 15' alumacraft waterfowler
Hi. Say, what are those white floorboards made from? Right lines. How much is the trolling motor?
The floor is just plywood painted with epoxy. I made templates from cardboard and cut out the plywood to match.
@@FloBass thanks, good idea
How did he mount that trolling motor I wonder
Zip ties and duct tape
That's the best investment you could of made. Awesome. Now all you need is a truck. Great video
Thanks my homie! I'll make sure to hit the reply button and not the flag this time... lol
Lets go fishing soon! Where you wanna go?
@@FloBass I'm free Saturday. I'm up for anything. Text me and let me know what your thinking
Whats the size of this boat?
14'
What mount is that your using for your GPS? Awesome lil setup
Its a RAM Mount. They make a lot of different models depending on how you want to mount a unit.
What happened to the deck?
Why did you remove the deck you put on the John boat?

Mine is a 55lb thrust as well. I don't have any issues though. It moves the boat easily. I wonder why you're having issues?
I have a 30 pound and it moves jus fine but I only fish ponds
I've been looking at the haswing model with gps for my 16' boat
Looks like it has the same features as mine. Definitely get it. It's amazing the difference it makes not having to worry about constantly working the trolling motor.

What rod holders are those? Look almost like Scotty's.
Yak Attack
@@FloBass Thanks man, it's cool to see how the boat evolves from fun fishing to fishing with clients. That spot lock is crucial.
How’d you install it?
Jerry rigged style.
Wish I could get something like that I just build a deck on my 15ft Jon boat with a 40hp mariner and bought a minn Kota edge 45
40hp! that boat is going to fly!
Is this the 48” shaft model?
Yes, although I plan on shortening it. It's too tall even now that its on my duck boat.
@@FloBass for 14’ boat, will 36” shaft be too short? Thank you.
Ever looked at an anchor?
Not viable for Florida. Too grassy. Also for a small boat it’s one less thing to worry about taking up space where space is limited.
Looks like ur over 5k subs I think that means ur 2 giveaways behind!! Just a friendly reminder!
lol maybe when I secure a new job or they carry me over to the new company. until then, I need every penny.
I know you want to protect the fish but, hold it up a second or two longer . I wanna see em!
What part of Florida is this in
South East
except a physical anchor would have also worked
Yes it would work, but it’s one more thing to carry around in a small boat where space is already limited.
Spot lock!
Game changer
There’s so many minn kotas):
Always Love the idiot jet ski guys. It seems most of those guys have no situational awareness.
