In case anyone is sketched out by this man's website, I can attest to him being legit. His igniter kit is perfect and an absolute necessity for your commercial grade smoke bombs. Coolest channel on the j-tube.
@Callsign_Sturm interesting to know. I used to be able to find them no problem many years ago. I have found some consumer grade flash bangs but I forget the site. They were good quality but expensive
Iron (rust) is added to exotic thermites to slow them down. When people are trying to cast and actually use weird stuff like zirconia, it just blows out the pot or whatever crucible without it in a flash and the crucible is mostly empty. It makes a big difference. Some guy made a bunch of exotics vids, I saw a few of them.

If it takes an hour to make, double-sided sticky tape a few boards together. Would recommend Japanese pull saws and a hinge chisel. Use a stop instead of a vise and work flat. Try to fasten something across the table just a few inches from the table edge so you don't saw through your table all the time. I use a jeweler's bench block for that. It sits below the edge of my bench and that's the stop, can't clamp much down, start cutting crooked if I don't keep flipping stuff over to keep the line on both sides.
I think the powder is sodium salicylate, potassium perchlorate, and iron oxide as catalyst, it’s usually used as a whistle fuel but in rare cases it’s used as a burst charge, in this case it may be to bypass 50mg regulations on flash powder
Federally as long as it is under 1/4 oz total explosive weight and has no frag / is not designed to cause harm it is legal. State you are in I have no idea but rather simple soon as it has frag or goes over a 1/4oz it is a DD and needs a tax stamp.

Different ignition caps, different strikers. One employs an all plastic construction the other uses basically a .410 type primer that requires a metal striker like a firing pin in a firearm. Nothing to do with not harming anyone's fingers.
I would love to see some of the tag in grenades recreated. The m67 and rgd5 both probably use the same principle as the flashbangs. Could also probably try 3d printing the fuse heads. Great video though and love the channel! Keep up the good work
Stubbs gun guy on odyssey has 3d printed fuse heads that use spring/hammer kits you can get from pyro stores. They work well and use either 209 primers or small pistol primers. OP's fuse system would have less metal in it though and you can probably get more made for what you would spend on fuse/primers/hammer kits with OP's pull ring system.
yup, looks like whistle mix to me. Ftroop and CPSC get squirrley with flash powder so I'm guessing they went with whistle mix as its between flash and black powder
i think thats just some bad whistle mix, i doubt its something like golden powder as someone stated before, usually this composition is not used in commercial fireworks since its quite hygroscopic and due to that not suitable for storaging. performance is not that much better than bp either, wouldnt make sense to replace it with sth like this. whistle mix is perfect for this, its a way better burst charge than flash powder, if its confined properly
Please Subscribe for my sake. Your insight will certainly be helpful in future videos. I’m going to look that up on passfire now. Pinning so I can find
yeah most likely, i guess without catalyst such a coarse mix wouldnt be fast enough. ive seen some whistle mix used in a commercial firecracker, just cant remember its name atm, had red iron oxide in it aswell and a phlegmatizer (which slows down burn rate minimally but will increase storage time a lot). from my experience with whistle mix, red iron oxide and copper oxychloride as catalyst will give the fastest burn rate, while black and yellow iron oxide or black copper oxide will give a louder, more raspier whistle at the cost of burn rate/thrust. so for use as burst charge the red iron oxide is best choice i think. edit: 76:24 +1% should be even fast than 70:30
Toy caps are just reduced charges to military roll caps used in the first unlit when thrown gernades and in cap and ball rifles. If you had to substitute modern toy paper caps for a blckpowder revolver cap compound, you use 2 of them. That's enough to set off a powder load of 35 grains or more of powder for the .54 revolving rifles. Same for the .44 with 20-25 grains of triple F. Dex (pyrodex) may require a third. Cap and ball pistol caps are available in magnum or they put a few grains of powder before the dex. Reliable ignition can be an issue. Too much is bad tho, you can get over pressure that keeps ths flame from penetrating. We ram a needle into the packed powder to give it a place to go and increase surface area the flame reaches. Some nipples have a side vent, ampco. I know this is a blackpowder revolver focus, but this is what you need to understand for that. I'm sure there's roll cap cowboys putting videos up in that sport, watch a few.
could you launch a series videos about to refurbish airsoft equipment to real smoke deal..!! holly smokes..!"!!!!! (the airsoft grenades launchers could be a very interesting point about to make dozens of vids)
👀 If you choose to deconstruct something…please choose something other than a toy ? Preferably something that has real boom to it? I watched thinking my time was an investment only to see at the end it was completely wasted.
@austin3876 Give the guy a break. This is just R&D on a CIVILIAN boom boom. TagInn actually makes the loudest of them all. The "Tag 19" is the best of them, goes to like 140dbs... Most are 110 ish. Goverment bangs go about 180dbs, so not too far off. Woth a little DIY tweak, I am sure we can get creative, haha.
The description says what it is. Also your eyes should have clued you in to it being an airsoft grenade. You need to spend more time reading instead of typing. Think of it as an investment..
Get over yourself, dude. The title and image illustrated what it is. A 2 second Google search could confirm that this is an airsoft toy had your time truly been important to you. You chose to watch this video. You should have known what you were getting into. However, your time is not sufficiently important to dictate what others should be making with theirs. Lose the attitude and thank the man for the effort he put into making this teardown and analysis video instead of acting like an entitled, ungrateful child.

@@InventionIncarnate lol you could send it in to dance safe and pretend you bought it as drugs. They cost like 50 bucks last time I checked, though that was almost 15 years ago...

Thank God
That was absolutely fascinating to get and inside view of their primer systme and fuse channel. Thank you so much for doing that!
Interesting ignition mechanism. It does look like it was assembled well for an airsoft toy.

A little bit of real fl@sh powder mixed into the dried peas would make this more effective for real world use scenarios.
Are you going to work on flashbangs next? They'd be a great addition to the smokes.
I’d love to. I just have to figure out the legality.
