I usually talk about trivial things here, like how much I loved a show, or how I found the song. But KyoAni... man.
It still hurts to think about.
KyoAni's one of the most progressive studios, and one that treats their employees really well. They try to make everything in house, focusing on keeping up with their own employees rather than severely underpaying freelancers like most of the industry does. And they put so much care into everything they make- every frame- and it shows.
It really isn't fair.
But when I see everyone come together like this, to support them? So many people coming forward and saying how much KyoAni's work meant to them? Raising like, 6 million dollars in 2 days to help them recover? That makes me really proud to be in this community.
To hear that KyoAni still plans to work on shows really, really warms my heart. That they're not going to stop, even through all this. I can't do much from my place here, but I hope they know we think they're some of the bravest people in the world, and that for them we have nothing but love and respect.

I do want to say that Kate Higgins sings the official English version of this song, and that really made me fall in love with it. Love her voice. She was great as Saber, and as Lissa in Fire Emblem: Awakening~

I LOVE VIOLET EVERGARDEN!! ITS SO BEAUTIFUL BECAUSE OF THE PLOT, ART STYLE, DETAILS, AND THE BEAUTIFUL LANDSCAPE. 😭😭😭 ITS TOO BEAUTIFUL...
I couldn’t even believe that only 47 animators helped make this show exist... I salute to them! Usually for animated shows it takes more than hundreds of animators make a decent animation... Again, I salute to them!

I almost got teary. I remember how beautiful this anime is and what the people of KyoAnimation has go through to cruel event that happen some months ago
While listening this, I remembered the scene at episode 10 of Violet Evergarden, it made me cry I just couldn't stop. Because before my mother passed away she wrote letters for me, for my future birthdays, for my future graduation.
And her letters are the most important treasure to me.

I've had a few pretty crappy days. But this song and the description just made me smile. When the studio was set alight last summer, I was heart broken like everyone else. It didn't help ether that I got the news the same day I finally sat down to watch "Violet Evergarden" for the first time. Still can't watch it because it makes my heart hurt. And now with all the crap that has been going on around the world making me feel worst, the fact that Kyoto Animation might be coming back and the existence of this cover has given me something to genuinely smile about this year.

Edit: Yeah, I was right, it’s a show about war and dealing with PTSD after the war is over, not sad, it had sad sections sure but it was more of a feel good anime then a sad one, if you want depressing watch Devilman: Crybaby and if you want sad watch Anohana.
