I know you gotta keep some tv for yourself, but you should really consider 'Wednesday' if you haven't already started.
Dumbledor took the street lights in the first movie to shrowd the area in darkness. To cover up that three odd-looking people were leaving a baby on a doorstep.
This makes sense, thank you for the help on this matter 🙂
It also had one of my favorite lines: about choosing between what's right and what's easy.
Because a lot of bad decisions come from choosing just what seems to be easier at the moment.
It's a great line to take wisdom from and apply it, i agree :)
As someone who was sorted into Hufflepuff on The Wizarding World website, Cedric Diggory's death hit hard. Especially seeing Amos run onto the quidditch pitch and hearing him shout "That's my son!! That's my boy!!"
Also, they got the movie appearance of Voldemort almost identical to the book. There is one missing detail: in the book, Voldemort is described as having blood red eyes with a slit-like pupil.
Another fact, the creature that the imposter Mad-Eye Moody was demonstrating The 3 Unforgivable Curses on was an arachnid called a whip scorpion.
8 movies... But Harry dribbling pumpkin juice from his mouth when smiling at Cho is probably the single funniest moment 😂😂😂
SPOILER
Half blood prince..where he makes the spider pincer clicky action at the aragog funeral.
@@angelined9814 CLOSE SECOND FOR ME 😂😂😂 Dan's impeccable comedic timing isn't appreciated enough 😂😂😂
Even though juice from a pumpkin doesn't sound all that appealing
Where are the rest of your harry potter reactions. You still have 4 more to go. Looking forward to your reactions.
I would have been really curious about your reactions to the heartbreaking moments of this movie (when Harry comes back with Cedric's body or when Dumbledore speaks about his death). But anyway it was a great and genuine commantary as always! 😊
I hope for the next films you are going to show us more of the emotional scenes, because believe me as a Potterhead we LOVE seeing and experiencing through a first timer (as crazy as it sounds).
Thank you again and thank you also for not letting us wait so much for the next parts! 🙌
When I'm editing sometimes I don't realize what parts I should be keeping in or taking out, I'm sorry 😅
I'm glad you enjoyed my video!😀 Come back for the last three Harry Potter movies as well, they're going to be so fun to watch since the kids are getting older, and it's getting darker and more dangerous🤘
@@reactingafool Don't worry about it! I've just noted because it would have been interesting to see how you reacted to those impactful moments :)
And I will definitely watch the rest 😊
" 'did you put your name in the Goblet of Fire' Dumbledore asked calmly" it says in the book.....it wasn't asked calmly in the film 😆
06:32 Yeah! There's more Wizarding Schools based on JKR. There are Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry (Great Britain), Durmstrang Institute Of Magic (North Europe), Beauxbaton Academy Of Magic (France), Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry (USA), Uagadou (East Africa), Castelobruxo (Brazil), Koldovstoretz (Russia), and Mahoutokoro Institute of Spirits and Magic (Japan/Asia).
Really pumping these Harry Potter vids out quick, respect!
In the book the higher seats were actually the better ones they changed it for the movie.
The actors playing Dumbledore, Dobby, Crouch, madam hooch and Filch were all in Doctor Who.
Loquacious means talkative.
Krum was under the influence of the imperious curse.
Don't forget John Hurt who plays the War Doctor is also Olivander, and moaning Myrtle is in the love and Monsters episode. And also there's those tents that are bigger on the inside than they are on the outside, sounds a bit TARDISesque if you ask me 😆
Did anyone ever explain the marauders map PoA?
Marauders map opens up with an introduction of its creators. Prongs, wormtail, Mooney, padfoot.
James Potter, Harry's dad is prongs.
Remus lupin the werewolf is Mooney,
Peter Pettigrew is wormtail,
Sirus Black is padfoot.
They found out their friend Remus Lupin was a werewolf and were concerned he was all alone during the full moon. Dumbledore planted the tree to get to the shrieking shack so he could hide out during the full moon, but people thought the sounds he made were ghost so the roomed it's haunted. Lol.
Anyway the friends turn into animals to keep him company. Animagi.
Prongs is a stag, or male deer. Nice that its also Harry's patronus is also a stag.
Wormtail is a rat, obviously,
Padfoot is a giant dog mistaken as a Grim.
Yeah I'm trying to give background information without spoiling plot points. 🙃
You are cracking me up. It's funny to watch you watching these, these are my favorite movies.
Can't wait for the next one.
Loquacious means talkative 😂
Actually, yes, the same words: avada kedavra is the origin of the modern word abracadabra. It's an ancient Arabic curse to the effect: "Let the things be destroyed."
You sure are cranking these reactions out! I'm glad cause I love your take on the series but I'm sad at the same time cause this means we'll be done soon. 😭
Okay RAF - you're officially onto the dark side now of the series, things are about to get even deeper from here!! I hope you're ready, buckle up! 😅👏🏽
I'm ready, LETS GO! :D
It's a lot of fun watching you react to these. Thanks.
No problem, come back for more reactions, it really helps the channel out! :)
Loquacious = Talkative
Great video reaction by the way 👍🏿 😉
Will you be releasing the other movies
6:41 Only people 17+ can join the triwizard tournament, the other schools only brought the people that actually wanted to join, so everybody from the other schools are 17+
Actually in the books they did bring some younger kids to cheer on their school champion
No they didn't, all the students from the other 2 schools were all of age ( 17 ) and eligible to compete in the tournament
There is a tragic backstory to that caretaker. But first more background info. Definitely not spoiling.
So that house at the beginning of the movie belonged to Voldermort's father's family i.e. Tom Riddle Sr. Lol. Voldermort mother is a witch the father muggle, his mother but his father under a love potion. When she got pregnant she thought surely he'll love me and our baby so stopped putting him under the love potion. Wrong. He kicked the pregnant witch out of house. She was taken in by a nunary(?) They take in women and children. So an orphanage as well. She died in childbirth and voldermort or Tom Riddle grew up as a muggle until he came to hogwarts. I won't go into too much detail but he found out he was a half blood amd not a muggleborn. He then goes and kills his muggle family AKing them (Avada Kedava the killing curse).
Here is where the housekeepers tragic story comes in. the housekeeper was blamed for the murder. He was sent to prison for like 50 years or so. He was then released not to long before the start of this film. Somehow still kept his job taking care of the old Riddle house even though no one lives there. He often has to case off vandals and so that is what he thinks is happening when the light goes on in the house. So he goes to chase them off. But it's voldermort, warmtail, and crouch Jr. Voldermort kills him. The end of that. Voldermort is this weird baby thing and he wants a real body. So he has a potion that requires the bones of his father and the blood of his enemy. So thats the graveyard attached to the Riddle house. And that's that.
Frank Bryce was the Riddles gardener ( not housekeeper ) and he was never convicted of the murders of Tom Riddle and his parents ( aka Voldemort's father and Grandparents ) because when the Muggle's investigating the deaths read the autopsy report it said they couldn't find any evidence that the bodies had been harmed in any way ( apart from the fact they were dead ) as the killing curse ( Avada Kedavra ) doesn't leave any traces. So because they couldn't prove they had been killed at all they couldn't charge Frank with anything and he never went to prison
I love re-watching these with someone who's not seen them before and hasn't read the books. Thanks for doing these. I'm enjoying the HPs, the Hunger Games and Dr Who stuff. Great set of stuff to share. Btw, what do I call you? I can't call you fool, that would be rude, and I can't call you RAF, because that's our air force 😄
Eh, he calls himself a Fool. So I've been obliging and doing the same. A fool can be a term of endearment amongst friends. Anyways, I like to refer to us as his 'Fellow Fools'. Fools are often wise guys in disguise.
@@7n154
If he's the Fool, then we are the jesters.
@@marleinasmom Yeah, that would've been a good suggestion but I think it's all moot now that he's gone . . .
I heard that he took a trip with some friends to an UFO convention in Roswell. And they made it there safely and checked out of the hotel and even called family to tell them they were on their way home. And then were never heard from again. The vehicle was found abandoned in the middle of the desert interstate. 3 months ago. Such a shame. He was pretty funny.
@7Ñ
Well then just consider it a suggestion for anyone that happens to read it, or is looking for suggestions.
Damn those UFO conventions. Do you think he was required to service Oberon, King of the Fairies?
Voldemort's return scene is one of my favorite movie moments. He's just so scary lol
Seeing him take form was awesome! It was definitely a dope scene😃
The debacle at the camp site at the Quidditch World Cup was quite different in the book. Not that much damaged property, but people in danger of being harmed if the "good" Wizards intervened the crime taking place.
Many things that seem weird are more logical in the books.
edit: and it was before twilight.
edit2: Dumbledore let out the streetlamps outside Privet Drive so not to be noticed by possible muggles.
(And then Hagrid comes along on Sirius' flying motorbike 🙄, but of course Dumbledore couldn't foresee that)
But no one saw them anyway
@@Delsin4077 Right you are! 😁
Barty Crouch, Jr set off the dark mark to scare the other Death Eaters because he was angry that they went back to their regular lives by claiming they were under the Imperius curse when they thought that Voldemort was dead or severely damaged while he was tossed into Azkaban.
Any chance the other movies are going to show up on the channel. It shows 1 unavailable video is hidden on the playlist but I can't find any of the others
The Avada Kedabra spell voldemort used in the beginning is the spell Drake Father was about to use on Harry and Dobby stopped him. I thought that was crazy he was about to murder a child on school grounds.
There was a whole giant chapter or two missing from the beginning which was all Voldemort and what was going on and the quidditch tournament but had more build up and such in the book too.
The 4 hostages in the lake "signed up" for this task... Dumbledore put them into a trance and assured them they would be safe and no harm would come to them. Remember when moody told Ron and Hermione to go to dumbledores office?
Ahhh ok, good to know 🙂
Really enjoying your reactions. Thanks for doing what ya do.
I'm so glad you're enjoying them, makes me feel good that im making them! 😊
@@reactingafool You’re keeping a shut in with no social life entertained. This is my version of hanging with friends. Lol
@@jeanine6328 And Mums stuck at home with sick toddlers and no one to talk to. It's amazing how addictive these reactions can become.
Next two together are my favorites!! Especially 6.. I'm so excited!
Also, the twins had a bet going with somebody who was cut out of the movie. I can't think of his name right now but basically they put up all their savings that the Irish would still win even though crum would get the snitch because he would get it too slow cuz his team would be down more points than it would be worth so they had no money. So at the end of winning the TriWizard tournament. But Harry tried to give the money to Cedric's family who said no then he gave it to the twins because he's tried to help the weasleys out before and their parents said absolutely not. They're not using him for his money. They're not going to ask him for anything and he's like you're not asking but they wouldn't take it so the twins were like. Yeah we'll take it. So that's why in the next movie they don't charge him for anything at their shop because Harry gave them the money to make the shop
26:41 So weird the actress that played Moaning Myrtle at time was 40 and Daniel was 15. Also in a interwiew someone asked Daniel if Moaning Myrtle was played by him
this is my favorite Harry Potter movie. so many amazingly iconic moments: Voldemort's return, Harry's first real encounter with death (Cedric's murder), Hermione's entrance to the Ball, the introduction of other wizarding schools, and just all the scenes of the Triwizard Tournament. this movie is also the turning point for the series and embodies what Hermione says at the end: "everything's going to change now, isn't it?" she wasn't wrong. things just get more complex and I'm so excited to see your reactions to rest of this journey! ❤
That's a great point, she did say everything's going to change now. Can't wait to see the next movie so I can really see what that foreshadowing is telling us! 😄
Another great reaction. Are there any more up? Can't seem to find them on the page?
I haven't made any in awhile but am definitely planning on getting back into the groove soon and not stopping once I do. 🤘🙂
@Reacting A Fool
Glad to hear it! I'm sure everyone is as anxious as I am to get back to watching Harry and Co's adventures with you.
Looking forward to the next one.
The reason the students from the other schools looked older was because they had to be 17 to be able to take part in the tournament.
It used to take other ages too and Dumbledore won the last one when it ended up disbanded.
You enter Hogwarts and basically see a tournament when young then enter when older there is higher chance to enter. So 2 every generation
Omg I watched the first 4 réaction on one take 😭
So sad to not see the other
Don't worry, the others are coming for sure.😁
@@reactingafool Happy to hear it :)
You yourself are the definition of loquacious 😄
I hate to admit it, but this is very true 😂
My persoal favourite of the franchise, this movie was amazing with a lot of great twists and concepts. Anything with Tennant in it makes it better
Dumbledore was taking the lights from the street lamps because you know there was a bunch of suspicious people on the street. He didn't want the neighbors to see. You know the lady who can turn into a cat and him and the guy on the flying motorcycle. He didn't want them to be seen by muggles who might be awake when they're out there and happen to catch a glimpse of them. He was trying to have the street as poorly lit as possible. Because of that he invented that item called the deluminator by the way and yes it will show back up
Been a couple weeks since your last upload! Hope everything is okay and that we will see you back soon!☺️
Yeah, everything is fine ☺️ sorry for the worry, and I should be back to making reactions soon I think 🤔
I like that you watched this one this week. The Quidditch World Cup actually runs congruent with the World Cup in the Muggle/No Maj world. They're scheduled to happen at the same time. (And just like here, the USA is hardly as involved.) Also, yep. There are even more schools! America's is called Ilvermorny. And with some exceptions, Tri-Wizard Tournaments are usually continental. Sadly, this is where things start getting real in the franchise. Not many more fun times at Hogwarts. Lives are at stake.
Yup, it's hard times at Hogwarts now, lord Voldemort has risen 😅
Happy to see this HP up so soon after the last one. Hope you get the next one up just as fast. Also, since it's almost Christmas, if you haven't seen it yet, I would love for you to watch the 1946 Black & White, IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, starring Jimmy Stewart. It truly is one of the best Christmas movies ever made.
**Be sure to watch the Black & White version!**
Absolutely 100% correct, I watch it every Christmas Eve.....
So that home from the mermaids had an extra line that was cut out of the movies. That is why Harry thought that he had to rescue everyone or they die
After that the prospects black too late. It's gone it won't come back
So he was under the impression if they're treasures weren't rescued within the hour they would be left to die
The Death eaters scene was cut off. They were levitating some corpses with green light. Because of that, everybody was running away
hye!!! Love the reactions ;) but btw, they're not wasting candles, like Hermione said in the first movie, the ceiling isn't real it's an illusion of a night sky with floating candles ;) she read it in: 'Hogwarts: A History' Hermione's always right..right? ;)
Ahhh ok gotcha, thanks for letting me know 😁 and I'm glad you're loving the reactions 😀
Sad thing is they turned victor into a buzz headed hunk. When he was more than that in the books and also in future books too. Fleur too. He was actually quite intelligent and level headed. So essentially they really nerfed his character. I don’t think they needed to go that far. Especially with beefing the maze scene and all it’s wonders. At least keep the dragon scenes so we could see more of them. Not even extended editions did that.
The prefects are students in their later years who enforce school/house rules. 2 per house, beginning I think sixth year, but I could be wrong and it may be 5th year and up. Anywho they get their own bathroom as special privilege. Cedric is a prefect and gives Harry the password.
11:05 Dumbledore took the lights away at the beginning of the first movie to make the street darker so there would be less notice of the wizard activity going on. Doesn’t really make too much sense to me given all the other stuff they do in plain sight later on, and the fact that a dark street would seemingly make a flying motorcycle headlight even more noticeable, but whatever…
I guess maybe they didn’t want to be noticed leaving a baby on the doorstep so as to reduce attention on the Dursleys though.
Not to mention someone would probably notice the streetlights zooming around 😂
Really wish they'd shown even 5 mins of the Quidditch World Cup, that cutaway scene was pretty disappointing
Why did you stop halfway through the franchise??
So Dobby and a new house elf a female named winky were cut out of the movie. They were in the books winky worked for Bartey crouch she was supposed to be watching over Junior and he got away from her. He's the one who set the dark mark there was this whole storyline with her being fired because of that. And Dobby getting her a job in the Hogwarts kitchens but she felt so depressed about being fired that she was just getting drunk in the corner and the others just like threw a towel over her so they wouldn't have to look at her and Hermione had this whole storyline that was cut where she was on a mission to free all the house elves so she started knitting clothes and hiding them around trash piles and hogwarts. So all the elves except Dobby were offended by the fact that somebody was trying to free them when they didn't want to be freeed. So Dobby was the only one who would clean anymore. They would just stick to the kitchens and cook. Her little thing she put together to try to freeze them was called spew society for the protection of elfish welfare
Love this one...
I think my top movies are
1. Chamber of Secrets
2. Goblet of Fire
3. Philosophers Stone
And books:
1. Prisoner oz Azkaban
2. Deathly Hollows
3. Chamber of Secrets
I have just started reading the books but was a huge fan of the movies since they came out.
So my order:
1. Deathly Hallows pt 2
2. Prisoner of Azkaban
3. Half blood Prince (but Order of the Phoenix is really close for a reason which i will not include here avoiding spoilers)
Have you seen Game of Thrones or House of the Dragon? You made a comment which very much made me think of a scene in HotD, though I won't say which one to avoid spoilers. Those would be great series to grow your viewership, AND they're just plain good TV (well, mostly. GoT ended rough, but HotD really saved the franchise)
Instant nostalgia
I don’t know true this is but I’ve heard the classic abracadabra roughly translated to with this words I creat (Latin?) and rowling’s Avada kadavra with these words I destroy
That's freaking awesome 🤘
Rowling heavily borrowed words and phrases from Latin for both the spell names and character names, you're right!
No one really knows what the origins of the classic abracadabra are. There are various folk etymologies that surmise several different possible origins. JK Rowling has stated though that she based it off one folk theory that abracadabra actually came from an Aramaic phrase avra kedavra that supposedly means “let the thing be destroyed” and was used first as an incantation against sickness. Whether there’s any truth to that folk theory or not I have no idea, but that’s the author’s reason for choosing the wording.
Please react to HBO’s His Dark Materials. It’s so well done and an underrated series
It is a good show. I haven't started the third season yet. I'm delaying the end as this is the series' last season. I hope we get more Polar Bear warriors!!
Yay
Yas!!!!!
❤
Ron is toxic here 😅
Indeed; he was pretty harsh on his friends at times in this movie 😅
