I’m 45 and remember watching all these legends play and going at it. LeBron couldn’t have even played in this era. He would be in a body cast at the end of every game on account of how those guys beat the living hell out of each other back in those days. In my opinion I don’t think LeBron is the GOAT at his position even. I would give GOAT status at Small Forward to one Larry Joe Bird.

I've watched both, and I respect Lebron for his raw abilities. He's done some great things for basketball, and I've watched him hit some clutch shots, in big games. But, tbh, Jordan was that EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. It was an absolute pleasure to be able to have watched so many of the Bulls games, in the 90's via satellite tv. You had to have watched Jordan play an entire game to feel the magnitude of his presence on the court. It was unmatched. As good as this compilation video was, watching him play an entire game does more justice, to MJ. And, then to understand, he did that every single game. And let's not forget, it got to the point where the league had to snub Jordan on various awards where he had better numbers than whoever won the award, because if the league didn't do that, then nobody else would have gotten fed much of anything. Jordan's D in statistical terms, was actually even better than his offense and the level he played offense at is the all-time best. Only Kobe can come even close to Jordan's all around offensive game (including being clutch and having the mental toughness not to flop and be a crybaby who skips games over minor injuries), and that's because Kobe modeled a lot of his game after Jordan, and Jordan mentored him on the mental aspects of the game.

@@antoniomcmahon3499 sounds like your biased toward scoring sgs. MJ is on the same level Kareem , wilt, LeBron. It's unfortunate that guys take LeBron for Granted but it comes with great for long time. I remember people talking about magic possibly being the greatest and lawd over his size versatility and that hand full of times he played all 5 positions. He's legit top 10 all time and LeBron makes him like ben Simmons.
We forget LeBron made the NBA move Completely away from red Auerbach style of ball because he does more than anyone has ever done on the floor.
MJ didn't have to run and score 30 every night.
MJ didn't have to provide rim protection.
MJ didn't have to defend play 1-5.
MJ didn't play by 18 years straight.
MJ didn't have to play for bs coaches.
I'm not saying he's better than MJ, but I am saying there are on equal footing. He's not supposed to be elite at 37. Y'all should know better.

@@rcdoubleu i actually used to the words "in my opinion" in my statement, that's a preference of whom I think is the best skilled player I've ever seen. You're right MJ didn't have to run and score 30 every night ..but he did! MJ didn't have to rim protect ( i can only assume you're referring to LBJ rundown blocks)..but he did, check highlights of those also. Your right MJ didn't play 18 straight..just dominated as scoring champ and all defensive basically his whole career which i dont know, a father's murder came into play, only to comeback and say it with me, win how many chips!?! And again, in my opinion, at the NBA level, coaches are just Ego baby sitters and situational X and O guys. And LeBron defended which Centers and when on a nightly basis??? Stop it! My whole statement acknowledged everyones attributes. I even preferenced Lebron's longevity and stats, again qualifying his over achievements, but the overall skillset and mindset to win doesn't compare to MJ. Hell, there's even a playoff game where Mark Jackson literally says Lebron's giving up, he doesn't think they can win this game after basically throwing up a bs 3pointer with time on the game clock to legitimately get into the game..the not so funny thing was, 3 seconds before he said it, i thought it to myself. You've stated a couple true statements, we thought we'd never see another Magic Johnson and we still haven't, Ben Simmons, please! Just being Tall and can dribble doesn't make you Magic! Ask the 76er staff and you're right again by not saying Lebron's better than MJ. You can't be equal and better, it's either or! Oh yeah, i also watched a 39/40 yr old Jordan bust young guys asses in the league as well. Bias, i don't think so, again, at 52 yrs old, having watched both careers, literally every game of each man, yeah..i most definitely think one is the best "I've ever witnessed"!

I love when I see Young bucks getting a real introduction to Jordan. It isn't about stats or championships, Jordan was flat out the most electrifying acrobatic player in NBA history. He is the goat because there's nobody that could do what he did. Not only was he a phenomenal scoring machine, he was also a dynamic defender. It's like the ball was literally magnetic and drawn to him. I believe wholeheartedly that he would destroy today's lazy NBA.

Watching this brings back so many memories of my childhood and teenage years. Sitting in the living room on a Sunday watching nba on nbc with my best friends. Then afterwards being so pumped up from watching. Then head out to the park or playground court and play until the lights came on and the court closed. His moves were so fluid and smooth. He had complete control of the ball and his body while in the air or on the court. There have been few that played even close to him. If he would've came straight outta highschool and never retired his numbers would be way up there too. Not a knock on LeBron because he is one of the few greats to play the game like he does. But Jordan's game will never be duplicated. He was a all-time great defender too. Watching highlights of him going up over big men and pulling their shot straight out of the air with two hands is awesome to watch. The 80s and 90s were the best years of the NBA to me.

@@johndeery9738 if he came straight out of high school, didnt retire because his father died, didnt leave the bulls to retire again then join the Wizards, didn't have that foot injury early on in his career, if he had todays strength and conditioning technology, if he didn't have to deal with hand checking or the overall physicality back then, if he didn't eat steak pizza and smoke cigars all the time and drink tequila and champagne, if he had the ability to team up with other greats to form a super team, if he played in this era where 3s are encouraged and had a chance to practice and get better at them in the game...
I can go on but he's already the Goat and he had all of this against him. It's literally frightening to even think of the possibilities. I even saw the end of his Chicago days and I forgot just how nasty he was. I feel sorry for anybody who thinks LeBron is thr Goat. They are just pure ignorant!
