He was found by the bass player in a karaoke bar doing a rendition of a Mariah Carey song. The bass player told him he should be in a band and the rest is history. They are changing the game with their mix of serious and not so serious songs. Love to see them getting some shine on your channel.
Discovered them in early spring last year, don’t listen to anything else anymore. So glad the boys traveled through the hillbilly heartland and I had a chance to see them live…best 50 minutes of my life.

Research Chemicals was my first intro to these guys. Shrimp Shack is another fav. But the one that made me just stop and listen -again and again - is 'Upside Backwards'.
They are so damn good. Definitely don’t take themselves too seriously. They have this dark, slacker, industrial dance punk groove that I never knew I needed

Bass player is an absolute fucking unit. So solid. As someone else mentioned, they finished their Glasto set with Research Chemicals, a 10 minute long version, and i've no idea how the bass kept up the stamina to chug out the 16ths like he did.

These guys sound like so many of the bands I saw in CBGBs and the other clubs on the Lower East Side back in the '80's and '90's. And I am totally here for it. Time for a deep dive!!!
Viagra Boys have that same Swedish knack for really hooky melodies as Ghost and so many other bands from their country, they just apply it to a post-punky kind of vibe. I urge you agressively to check out more of them, esp. the KEXP version of their song Troglodyte.
The Viagra Boys are my favoutite current band, saw them for tue first time in England just as lockdown hit, abd they were effortless, with a huge Stooges thing going on cause of all the jazz. Incredible. We love Seb, too.
The lyrics vaguely remind me of the Zappa number; "white person". An old band I played in busted it out once at an open air show and the people who stuck around to see us then looked about as confused as Dylan Mulvainy on Father's day considering the selection of golden bay area metal greats we had been throwing down only moments prior...........Anyways, discovered Viagra Boys last fall and if I didn't know better I'd assume they grew up near the same funny farm where i learned to do drugs. Orem Utah, the middle of nowhere and yet the center of everywhere........ Forever.
I enjoy how we can see the real-time realization of just what an oddball song this is, at the start of the song, you’re like ‘alright, nice, sounds groovy,’ and then at 1:08 the lyrics are really sinking in like ‘wtf did he just say wienerdog?’

Love that you covered these guys, but bummed that you anticipate so little viewership from it. There is so much great stuff going on in the world of post-punk, punk, garage and indie rock right now and - despite selling out respectable venues around the country - a lot of the artists would still get a “What? Who?” from most people on the street.
I think one of my favorite things about VB is that for some songs, they're almost *better* live. Seb has *such* a voice for the genre they work in and knows how to play a set.

That rhythm section is super tight and their guitarist and synth guy are incredibly tasteful in what they play. Wouldn’t be surprised
