I agree so much on the part about Lou being a good villain in a bad movie. Like why give a character such depth in a backstory and personality just to have him thrown into the wash as a bad ending for him. Lou deserves redemption
personally, i don't think he ever got over his relationship with ox. he managed to push it to the back of his mind when ox left, but when he came back the memories all came flooding back to him, which may have partially been the cause of the mental breakdown that caused him to try and get mandy and moxie killed.
Holy shit, this is good. I’m so frustrated with all the wasted potential in Uglydolls, ESPECIALLY with Lou. And I can’t agree more with Lou deserving a redemption. Honestly, I’d be thrilled if you rewrote the entire movie.
Every single time i see the ending when Lou gets thrown in the Washer, makes me feel so bad for him. And i always think to myself he should've just gotten another chance.
Yeah, like both me and my sister have always felt bad about that, and we saw the movie when it first came out, and I was like seven I think, and both me and my sister thought then and still to this day that he deserved a second chance, and we both think it isn’t fair because there was actually a reason why he is how he is and stuff, and yeah so basically he deserved way better. Basically the point of this video.

pretty good video. I never really cared for his character and was honestly confused by the prototype thing. but you made a good point about how he was practically stuck in purgatory and everybody was leaving him. you were right. he did deserve a second chance.
Was so mad that he didn’t get redeemed. Of course they had to punish him because kids movie lol lol. There could’ve been more major storyline things they could’ve done but it’s whatever.
HONESTLY!! I feel like if they do a sequel or one of those netflix spinoff shows - which they probably won't because of the movie's reception - they should definitely get more into Lou's character. Like if there was a sequel I wouldn't want it to be presenting a new challenge for the main characters to be facing so to speak, I'd rather have it be about them feeling bad about what they'd done to Lou and trying to understand him better. Tbh I could see Ox probably being the one to initiate that considering their history together. Obviously we're never gonna get that, though, but it's fun to pretend
@@DulyDownward On the topic of that I’m actually working on a story that involves some of the Uglydolls from the movie. Except I’m trying to make their character’s better. It’s a big crossover story wrapped around a group of original characters.
I like the analysis here, and agree with what you were saying. Really such a waste of a character here. Great video 👌 (on another note, I like your headcanon a lot)
I completely agree with this video! I personally think that the creators should have done a better job of his backstory! I’ve watched the movie and we don’t get much stuff about Lou’s background except when he has a total emotional breakdown (poor Lou 😭).
Yes! True! Not only is Moxy a self absorbed brat but she also refused to listen to anyone. Sure, Lou did some wrongs to her, but Moxy HAD OTHER OPTIONS THAN TO FORCE HER FRIENDS IN A PIPE! Lou would have been killed if it wasn't for Nolan. Moxy is such a hypocrite, accepting others for who they were, then lets Lou die in a ditch (metaphorically) who is suffering from a mental breakdown!
if they somehow added more details to his backstory and gave Lou a second chance it could help little kids realize that even bad guys like him aren’t originally bad and that they have a backstory or a reason why they turned out that way(it could teach kids to be open minded and show some grace even when someone’s treated them badly instead of having to act in a rebellious way)
YES YES you make some awesome points here!! I like to think that initally he was going to sabtoge the Ugly Dolls like he does usually but he's just so fucking hopeless and...yeah. I think when he was held by the baby, despite knowing *how* to win, he physically couldn't show it because it made him so damn uncomfortable when he hasn't had any affection from anybody since Ox (not from ppl he truly knows, since ppl fangirling and fanboying only does so much) and the fact he subconciously just..knows it's not real anyways so why bother? Also I think when he was going out of the house, I think his intention was to stand outside before the finish line so it would look like he won without showing that he lost until everybody left or something? Idk
Also I forgot to mention but while I understand you not liking Ox super well for leaving Lou, Lou was also the one to get the pretty dolls to start bullying him [granted, probably to make Ox stay with him, under the guise of "if other dolls are judging you here, imagine how humans are going to judge you] and he was also the one to lead him to recycling. Granted he didn't exactly push him in or anything but...still, and I think Lou was planning to kill him through this, considering that he says he should have made sure he was actually recycled, probably was a "fine you wanna leave so bad?? There you go!!" typa thing but still. Even with his sympathetic reasoning, I understand why Ox didn't want to come back to him. I think it would have been sweet if Ox was the one to speak up in the ending and suggest a lighter punishment, shows that while he doesn't fully forgive him, he's willing to at least not let him die yknow?
I watched the movie today and I got just as pissed of as the last time i watched it his ending is just terrible honestly like I have so much on my mind after watching this but all I can say is "yes I agree" also I loove you're design for lou and the story behind it is way better than just "he is just perfect at everything"
