Thank you!! I really feel like there is so much to love about this game and wanted to try to express that as best I could; I'm so happy that there is an appetite for that in the community!
That is so kind of you!! I absolutely love listening to people talk about their favorite things, and so when I made this channel, I felt like there was a good chance other people would enjoy listening to me talk about something I loved as well!
Blue archive being run by Nexon and not dying for a year is a miracle, every gacha player who knew the history of nexon pretty much recognized the predatory nature of the company yet they surprised us with Blue archive. the game isn't predatory, they actually listen to the playerbase to the point they will make 2 versions of the game just to avoid the whole censorship issues and its rewards is not stingy at all. but yea, i dont have much complain over BA other than why my hare/Maki/my twins still doesnt have alt please nexon i want to their alts but its a pretty comfy game. it doesnt feel like a chore unlike my experience in genshin wherein i feel like a child miner in soviet union to get that 90 pulls for 5 months only to get off rate and it wont get back anytime soon (very painful) and the story is actually nice to read, you can go back if you want + the :2D are phenomenal.
The sad reality of high end game development even for gacha games is that even if the monthly pass was instead a sub-to-play at the same price point, the devs whose passion and talent you admire so much would not be able to get paid decently without the option for that 1% of whales to dump their entire life savings. Even with the current system I would say that most of the star talent at NAT Games is woefully underpaid compared to what they deserve.
That is quite sadly accurate... the existence of whales does help to ensure that these games get funded, but I do feel like enough people fall into the trap of buying packs that they can't afford was enough to merit a shout-out. I'm grateful that Blue Archive has other ways to support them through OST sales and figurines, since I want to support the developers as much as possible for all the work they put in!
Necroing this comment: Gee how I wish that I had a chance to play high end video games in 80s and the 90s and the 00s. Sadly, the reality is that there was no such thing as high end gaming, because PCs were too weak for quality gaming, with vast environments, rich lore, and varied character casts. Luckily, in the late ‘10s, cell phone technology surpassed and downright shamed PC technology and gave us the wonderful opportunity to experience everything we missed in over 30 years of gaming - but it was so expensive to produce! Thankfully, gambling for DLC/character skill/equipment mechanics and pay to progress (stamina) mechanics were invented in order to support the insanely expensive dev costs of mobile gaming that was never seen in PC and console games of the past. /deepsarcasmoff
This is such a well thought out, expertly planned and intelligently spoken presentation. This video just happened to pop up on my recommended because I recently got back into the game and im so glad it did. instant subscribe.
That is so incredibly kind of you, thank you so much! I have spent a lot of time ruminating about this game over the last year and wanted to express all my thoughts as best as possible, so it makes me incredibly happy to hear that this video is reaching players of all levels who are interested in the game!
So glad I got back into BA. I was a Day 1 Global player, played for several months and then took a like 3mo break because I didn't feel motivated by the story. But it turned out I was just doing it too sparingly to get hooked. After watching your lore video it all made sense and is super engaging
I love the way you talk about the stuff you like, it sounds genuine. I fell in love with Blue Archive the moment I watched the most recent PV4, which reveals the truth behind our arrival in Kivotos. I swear that video made me tear like crazy and made me come back after a big hiatus.
That is so kind of you to say, thank you! I made this channel to share my absolute favorite things and why I love them, so I'm really glad that my adoration for this game comes through so clearly! That 4th PV was absolutely gorgeous, I can't wait to see what more will be in this game in the future!
That makes me so glad to hear, I feel like it's really easy to feel tempted to buy packs, but for your average player, I just don't think it's remotely worthwhile. If you feel financially stable and want to support the game, the monthly pass has been fantastic, but even playing for free is very sustainable in the game!!
Oh damn this is a really good presentation. I jumped on the blue archive ship a couple months back (around the time the mutsuki dancing to california girls memes started) and have found it extremely good. I just want... My students to go to therapy...
Now I want to play Blue archive and continue to watch you because of your voice. You sound so happy when talking. It try it when I got a break from school
This video is a very well made love letter to Blue Archive and I couldn't agree more! I never would have thought but after spending nearly a year in Kivotos I can say that Blue Archive, a gacha game of all things, is one of my favourite games of the last year! I think BA handles the gacha apect really well in that it's not super important to progress. Maybe I have just gotten lucky but I haven't spent a dime and my student roster is pretty stacked with multiple five stars and only missing 11 of the 96 students. I even somehow managed to get 1st place in Tactical challenge at one point. My general approch is to most of the time ignore the gacha and only pull for limited students. What I did buy though is the 1st year anniversary OST bundle cause as you said the music is great! Thank you for the great video!
I just ordered that OST as well, I am SO excited to get my hands on that!! I am so glad to find other people so passionate about the game, I think its a truly spectacular experience and I've loved it over the last year. It really is incredible how easy it is to fill out your roster, the game is really generous about character elephs in events, and gacha pulls have been quite excellent when you do make them. I'm so excited for another year of the game and for sharing more videos about it with you all!
I was contemplating whether to step into Blue Archive for months! Thanks for solving my problem and for delivering such an awesome breakdown and history of the game! I'm super excited to start! Thanks, snek friend! ^^
That makes me so happy to hear!! I feel like this game has been severely underrated (and under-reviewed) for a long time, so I wanted to make as comprehensive a video as possible to lay out why I think it's a fantastic game; knowing that it helped you jump into the game makes me so happy to hear, I hope you have a fantastic time playing through the story and seeing all these incredible endearing characters!
OMG FINALLY SOMEONE THAT TALKS ABT THE FANSERVICE, i know the video is old, but i love the aesthetic and some designs of blue archive, they are soooo cute, but i don't really like fanservice and tbh the fandom can be.... very scary to say the least, but the story and the game itself looks so good i think i might give it a try!
Thank you SO MUCH for leaving a comment about this, I hugely appreciate it!! I feel like it's an important thing to mention the fanservice, since I know that is a big turn-off for folks, but I've tried really hard on this channel to show all the other aspects of the game that I still adore, so please feel free to hang out if you'd like! My streams are really chill and folks get really excited about the character's stories, which is the best thing I could have hoped for!
@@yumietsuchinoko ty! i will give them a look, is so relaxing to know there is another BA player that isn't weird and just wants to enjoy the story and the characters for what they are! keep it up queen!
Nice video Yumie and it's literally the best review of this game i've ever seen. Another relevant point is the little time consumed by farming and daily tasks. Which makes It an excellent option to be accompanied by other games
That is so incredibly kind of you, thank you so much! I think it's a shame that there aren't a lot of Blue Archive videos that go in-depth into the game and wanted to make something special to commemorate it's anniversary, so hearing that makes all the time I put into this video worthwhile. I completely agree that having the ability to sweep tasks is a godsend; I really feel like this game respects your time and makes it so much easier to still play a variety of other games alongside it!
Thank you for putting this video together! I'm always seeing these girls on my social media feeds, so it's nice to now know a little more about them. Now I understand what the halos are for xD (Love the little snake one btw!)
AHHH that makes me so happy to hear Coco! (especially about the snake halo, I wanted that to look as good as possible! 😆) My hope for this video was to let people know more about the game, since I feel like there isn't that much content simply talking about what makes Blue Archive great (as well as how to be careful when playing gacha games!)
That is so kind of you, thank you so much!! I would love to make more BA content; my hope is to have a variety of content on the channel to talk about all the games, anime, and people I think are awesome, but Blue Archive really has a special place in my heart and I'd love to make more videos in the future to talk about the story and world (especially as we keep getting fantastic story beats in the game that I'd love to talk more about!)
That makes me so happy to hear!! I'm so glad you're loving the game and that this review was worth the watch; I know the runtime got pretty long, but I'm so glad you checked it out as a new player!
I love your video, I just saw the beginning guide and i love so much how you talk and explain yourself, so u gain a new sub, i really want to see more content of you, blue archive, and maybe some other gachas, cheers!
That is so kind of you to say, thank you so much!! I really try to make things as straightforward and understandable as possible (even though I tend to be a bit long-winded...) so I'm glad that this and the gameplay guide were so helpful! I would love for there to be more open, honest discourse about gacha games and how they operate, so I'm hoping my perspective can help with knowing how to carefully engage with their monetary structures while still having fun with the underlying game!
All the points you made in this video were insanely relatable and direct and I love it for that. Your criticisms of the game are fully on point since gacha systems are always bad civ and the pyro costs are way too high to justify using real life money for. I do hope the fanservice isn't leaving too bad of a taste for you, since I do like to think that the worlds of an extremely well written story and good fanservice can coincide. Overall, this video was fantastic and I'm looking forward to binge more of your Blue Archive videos!
That is incredibly kind of you to say, thank you so much!! I really wanted to hammer home the things I love about this game as well as areas that I'm less a fan, although the fanservice certainly hasn't taken away from the incredible story and character writing in this game! The developers put so much time and effort into making this a delightful game, and after a year of playing I really wanted to do this game some justice with an in depth review!
It really is such a gorgeous game, I'm so glad to find other people who love it as well! I'm really excited to put together more videos for you all to enjoy! :)
As a whole I salute the effort put into this look at the game and can respect the amount of passion going into it. Agree with a lot considering the overall story, lore, and effort put into the whole package. Absolutely don't agree about the fanservice or character stories being an issue. Which is perfectly fine by me. If people don't like the character stories or elements of it...they can skip them and just claim the rewards. Everyone has their own tastes. I'll take enjoying the total package and let people feel about that as they will.
Wonderful video! Love the presentation! Very awesome you touched on the gambling aspect. I wish it was set at 100 for the pity but it is true you can get a ton of pyroxene from story missions. The music is premium, some of the best for video game music. Great story, and amazing artwork. Only thing that is rough imo is the pity. Especially limited characters can be depressing if you miss out on the banner. The 6 month to a year wait feels bad!
Thank you so much for this amazing review! I love how passionate and enthusiastic you're about that. I´m new in the game and I love it so much, I'm grateful for all the tips. Greetings from Colombia!!!
Two things I would like to add onto is that the expert permit shop allows you to get the elephs for the limited characters, but you cannot actually exchange for that character unless that character's banner is up. So if I want a New Years character I have to wait for the New Years event and for that specific banner to be up until I can claim her for free. And secondly, the 4,800 gems for $65 is not the best pack you can buy. There is a limited pack of 6,600 gems for $65 you can buy 3 times a month. While not much better than what she said and definitely not worth it, I wanted people to have a more accurate picture. As someone who tries to pull every banner to collect the characters. I agree with Yumie. Gotcha is still gotcha regardless of how many gems you get for free. I buy the monthly and semi-monthly packs as well as the 3 6.6k packs per month and more often than not I still have to hit pitty to get a banner character. Saori's banner is the first one in MONTHS that I did not come anywhere near to pitty before I got her.
As an example on how bad my luck is with this game and why you should not actually buy these 6.6k and 4.8k packs. We just had the limited Summer Izuna and Sumer Chise banners. I wanted Izuna for raid meta and Chise because she's limited and her L2D is too good. I pulled 200 times on Izuna's banner. Did not get her and only got like three other 3* characters. I had enough to pitty her but didn't pull her yet. Switched over to Chise's banner and started pulling. 160 pulls later, I got S. Chise. Switched back over to S. Izuna and on pull 170 I got S.Izuna. 370 pulls in and I got both characters.... So I ended up pulling for Izuna 30 more times and got her again on pull 400 and exchanged my two pitties for Izuna. Now I have a UE40 S. Izuna.
Hi, nice videos snake lady! Cool OC design! Just learning about it al. Still not sold on the game at all really, but I am appreciating it more, thanks to your content! I am a BDO player and it more fits my bill atm. I need to see more about the pve content I guess.
Good video;. This is one, if not, the most complete Reviews for Blue Archive i've seen so far. only one nitpick though. when you mentioned the shop where you can exchange LIMITED characters, sadly that shop does not let you redeem for them and it explicitly tells you you cannot exchange for them. The only time i think you can do that is during their rate up period. I look forward to more Blue Archive content
That is such a huge compliment, thank you so much!! And yes, sadly I realized that after making this video as well; I tried to add a pinned comment to clarify that, but I think I should also try to add something on screen referencing it so people don't get the same thought I had. Thank you so much for the shoutout there!
@@yumietsuchinoko no problem. You sound like you were giving it your all when recording this and it shows. Again, I look forward to whatever else you make
It's nice too see blue archive content creator who's dedicated too the game and has a strong passion for the game its definitely been an amazing journey I've had with the game its the first gacha I took the time too read the story and I'm very impressed it definitely pulls on the heart strings I did wanna ask will you be purchasing the anniversary OST package
I only found your channel a couple days ago, and it's lovely to see a wholesome blue archive content creator who isn't just memes, I love the community memes. But quality content is just as good if not better. And I'm glad you criticized the gacha system while also mentioning how generous the devs truly are, also fun fact blue archive has been rivaling genshin in sales lately but without as many players it really shows how good the devs are to breed such a dedicated community willing to pay to support a game, while genshin devs are showing more and more how greedy they are and how they only care about money seen with constant delays on content endless filler content that's just reskinned content from before and of course resorting to clichéd sexualized characters with little to substance. Blue archive recently had a stream for the current event Let's go millennium, where the devs finally openly spoke about how they don't care about the gacha and they make all characters good first and worry about budget later, it was so eye opening as to why the quality of blue archive is just so much better for all kinds of players. Still kinda hilarious how the best characters in blue archive are all welfares minus a certain dog secretary. As the probably only male player who does on my students like a father it's nice to see someone with a similar mindset. I really love the music, story and characters and I definitely agree with the oversexualization taking away from it. But I look at it, the way the devs look at the gacha, a necessary evil. Getting horny teenagers into the game is a great way to spread awareness and grow a playerbase, but I swear to God if Rin isn't at least 24 there's gonna be hell to pay lol P.s. mao'o is definitely best girl, you're also a person of culture cheers!
This is such an incredibly kind comment, I'm so glad you were able to find the channel!! It's absolutely wonderful to see how successful Blue Archive is becoming; I saw a revenue comparison for the months of January and February 2023 for all gacha games globally, and Blue Archive was within the top 5 on the planet!! For a game that's only two years old, it really does inspire a lot of confidence and excitement in its fanbase, and I am eternally grateful for the passion and dedication of the developers. That developer spotlight in the Let's Go Kivotos Stream was so gratifying to watch; you can really see how excited their staff get about the game, and hearing that their main illustrator got so excited about a Sports Day Event that the developers based a whole even around their drawings is honestly incredible. I cannot wait to see what else they will bring to the world of Kivotos in the many months to come! And YESSS LETS GO! Fellow Mao appreciators, unite! The fanservice of this game is admittedly a necessary evil, but it can get rather uncomfortable in some of the side stories... I'm just relieved that it doesn't find its way into the main plot quite as often, since that lets the game's story stand on its own merits!
@@yumietsuchinoko facts, I can't wait to see where the series goes from here I hope it keeps making bank and I can't wait to see where they go with Arc 2, hopefully they don't rush us too much to catch up with JP/KR but if they do I don't mind then I won't be spoiled by memes lol
Im really happy to subscribe to your channel, you have a very well built opinion on the game, you managed to give a super full and useful video without spoiling anything! I just started it 2 weeks ago and im liking it. I play games since forever and gacha games too and your experience matches exactly with all that ive learned about them and experienced first hand!! Looking forward to your next videos! Also thanks for the bigginer's guide you made, it was also very very helpful!
That makes me so happy to hear, I'm so glad this was so helpful!! I really wanted to express my love for this game while also being realistic with people about what to expect with the game's economy and gameplay, so knowing that my videos have helped makes me so glad to hear! 🙏😖🙏
TH-cam recommended your video, I just started to play Blue Archive recently and I really like the game so much, is very cute, the story and character interactions are funny and wholesome, the music is enjoyable beign "Dolce Biblioteca" my favorite music so far, the game may have fanservice and sugestive moments but is not the point of the game, everything else is more engaging and makes a fun and wholesome experience. I like the way you talk about the game and why you like it, you sound very passionated about it, I would like to see more of your content.
Thank you so much! Dolce Biblioteca is INCREDIBLE, I absolutely adore the soundtrack for this game; I feel like the creators have put so much love and passion into the game, it's really awesome to experience it as a player!
Just started yesterday. When I installed this game last night, my main intent was just to roll for some characters to satiate my gambling addiction that I got from Genshin Impact. I didn't expect to love this game very much. All of the students are so adorable and "alive". The gameplay is fun and I love the lore. The character that compels me even more to play this game is Wakamo. She's so cute. I unexpectedly got her swimsuit ver. of her and I love her relationship quest!!! I wonder when will the Devs release the banner for her "normal" character. Lookin' forward to that. This video is really well made. All of the things I want to know, as a newbie, is here and I can feel your passion for this game! I'm looking forward for your new videos!!!!
That is absolutely wonderful, I'm so glad you're enjoying the game so much!! The time and care that the dev team has put into the story and characters definitely took me by surprise when I first started, it's one of those sleeper gacha hits that I'm so glad is finally getting more of the attention it deserves! That is incredible that you got Swimsuit Wakamo, she is SUCH a delightful character in the game! Her normal version is one of the most sought after characters, but she should be coming back around again during a "Fest" re-run event (which should happen within the next few months!)
@@yumietsuchinoko thank you so much for the great news!!! I'm currently saving for her and fighting my urge to gacha to ensure that I can save 200 pulls by the time she comes. I also enjoyed the gameplay guide of yours. I learned a bunch of things, thank you so much for that. I'm currently prohibiting myself from viewing any blue archive lore videos to avoid spoilers however I would love to watch your lore video and know your thoughts once I got through all of them. I'm also looking forward for your other content. (Warhammer 40k lore, perhaps?) You're such an entertainer and I'm eager to see you shine. I'm only new to your channel but I already knew that you will be one of the channels that I'll truly enjoy. I'll be cheering you on from the sidelines and goodluck to your future endeavors...
This is an excellent review. Too much gacha coverage is surface level but this is a really great format and fits perfectly with your description of BA - deep enough to engage but simple enough to not overwhelm. I'm not familiar with vtubers as a culture (I'm an old man by Internet standards) but after watching this I went to check out your debut video and it's clear this is something you've put a lot of thought, effort and passion into. I hope you go far :)
I am tremendously flattered, thank you for your incredibly kind words! This channel has been a passion project of mine for some time, and Blue Archive was one of the first things I wanted to cover so I'm delighted to hear that this review was so well received. Definitely don't sweat it about vtubers, I'm still learning as I go and its wild how fast the internet changes with this sort of thing! More than anything, vtubers are a fun aesthetic choice for content creators, especially streamers, although I plan on doing a mix of streams and longer prerecorded content like this. Thank you again for your kind words, that made my morning to read!
Love all the BA content, been playing myself just over a year and so glad i found this game, probally the best IMO gotcha system or im just stupidly lucky. been a blast since i've started and hope for more to come :D But one thing I wanted to point out and I apologize if this has been brought up a million times already but for the expert permits getting the limited characters, you can't actually get the limiteds though them as far as getting enough of thier things and having them on your team. you can only use them for when you Have that limited Character. sadly I know this because i saved up enough to get enough beach Hina only to realize in small print says that "limited characters can't be acquired that way . Just wanted to point that out to anyone that didn't know that being that those tickets are so new and all. AKA just spend them on gear ticket things, or anything else handy in that shop :D Also keep up the great work, love all the videos so far i've seen of yours, and all have been a great help for learning about and playing this game i spend WAAAAAAY to much time on haha. Stay awesome pretty snake lady :D
I was so devastated when I found that out with expert permits! Thankfully TH-cam let's me pin comments so I added that correction to my other videos, and I also linked to the correct info when that shows up on screen. I'm so glad that you've been enjoying Blue Archive!! It's such an incredible game, I have been blown away by how much time and effort the developers have put into making all the character animations and story work together! 🙏
I whale for blue archive, and do buy the pyroxene packs, but not the ($65 USD -> 4800 pyroxene) pack, which I agree is definitely not a great value. I usually buy the (65 USD -> 6600 pyroxene) pack instead. 24,000 pyroxene or a pity/spark would be around $236.36 instead if you just bought those instead. At least for BA players in the US, both packs used to cost $80 each, but were reduced down to $65 not too long ago. It's still a lot of money, but I'd think most whales would at least exhaust all their (65 USD -> 6600 pyroxene) purchases (a limit of 3 per month) before resorting to the other one. Even then, I would just wait next month for it to reset again. To spend or not to spend money on gambling services depends on the gambler as well. Yes, the "house" can and often does employ practices that psychologically encourage gambling and statistically most people aren't very good at risk assessment, which applies to gambling, but an overwhelming majority of gamblers are not compulsive gamblers, which account for about 1% of adults. Another 2% would be considered problem gamblers, who gamble enough that it's harmful enough to themselves and others. Out of the problem gamblers, a large majority of them have comorbidities (alcohol, drug addiction, depression, schizophrenia, antisocial personality disorder) as well. Even when problem gamblers volunteer for rehab, about 75% drop out and half of the 25% remaining successfully abstain from gambling. Some people for their own good shouldn't be allowed the opportunity to gamble at all, but most people just gamble for recreation. Not saying gambling isn't an issue, but it's a complicated one. Loss aversion also tends to contribute to the public perception of gambling. For me personally, I think it's okay to spend money on the things you use and/or enjoy the most as long as that spending isn't beyond a person's means. As for Blue Archive, I don't need to spend money to progress or complete content, but I like collecting all the students, and I tend to think of my spending as tipping the developers for producing a product I thoroughly enjoy. At the end of the day, most video games are a business (some exceptions like Doki Doki Literature Club) that need money to operate, and when live service games shut down, I think all players lose, whether they're whales or F2P so in part, I also think of spending as a way to try to prevent that from happening to the games I like.
Your section about gacha is really appreciated. The only reason i don't go out of my way to recomend Blue Archive to most people, unless they are already playing gacha, is that gacha systems can be predatory. But the stories, characters and assets are so great that i really wished more people could experience it.
Amazing review I'll definitely subscribe to your channel the quality of you video is very high, it's clear to see your passion for the game, blue archive is definitely one of the best gacha games I've played. Gacha games have some of the best music in the industry, and Arknights has my favorite music ever, if you ever want to listen to an absolute 🔥🔥🔥 song I highly recommend listening to the song RADIANT from arknights. I started playing gacha games in 2021 and the music quality was mind blowing 🤯 for me, gacha games get shafted so hard in the game awards for best music lol. I have a few months in blue archive and it's an incredible game, the gameplay is simple but so much fun. My favorite thing about blue archive is so much is the characters and story, the story is so fun to go through and it's gut busting hilarious at times as well. My biggest criticism on blue archive is the gacha system, I like how generous the game is with the gacha currency, but the rates for featured banner characters is insultingly low only a .7% increase from a regular 3*, in my opinion Arknights and genshin does it soooooo much better they give you a 50% chance to pull the featured banner character on on 6* pull, I'm mostly salty and venting cause I got screwed on Iroha banner lol, I had to spark her, I got 6 3* characters in 200 pulls and none of them were Iroha, I Was sent back to 0 pyroxene and I gotta save up 24k for summer hoshino banner. I hope there will be more collaborations for blue archive i missed the hatsune miku collab. Arknights its gettingits second collab event soon in CN, the first collab was with Rainbow 6 and the upcoming collab is with Monster Hunter. It would be a dream come true if Arknights collabed with blue archive, there are some super wholesome characters from arknights that would be amazing in the world of blue archive.
I agree with most of the points in your problem of fanservice part about how over sexualisation can take away from the narrative but I don't see what's wrong with people who want to play a game solely because of hot waifus as people value different aspects of a game whether it's the music, story, gameplay or in this case hot waifus
You misunderstood. She's criticizing the excessive sexualization, not the people who like stuff like that. It can be difficult to take a story like Blue Archive's seriously when you have character designs that are frankly nothing but the artist's fetish, as is the case with most of Mx2J's character designs. Additionally, in the pursuit of fan service the characters can be destroyed. So many of the relationship stories are genuinely terrible due to how they treat the characters in said stories. I would have much rather have gotten more character exploration and understanding, rather than cheap self insert fan fiction. Those stories are written with fan service in mind, which detracts from the main story as well, which I believe is quite a shame. Again, it's fine to like what you like, what's being criticized is the harm that the fan service does to the narrative, not the people who like fan service, even if those people are looking for fan service in a game where a vast majority of the characters are children.
Good review. I disagree with the point about fan service. It's pretty normal for fan service to exist in gacha games and at its core collecting waifus is definitely what its designed for. Blue Archive is definitely more 'out there' with character designs etc but its filling a gap in the western market which is great imo. People that complain about it are just not interested, thats fine, they can ignore it if they want. As long as people aren't gonna start policing waifus I don't care! Also great section on gacha/gambling practices in games and I loved the breakdown on ingame currency and how much you get by just playing the game!
Hey there, absolutely loved the video! I just wanted to hear a bit more of your thoughts on the fanservice part of the game. I want to preface, your opinion is absolutely valid and I absolutely intend to go at this with good faith and an open mind. And for anyone reading this: Not liking fanservice is *absolutely valid*. Blue Archive might be not for you, since BA contains - as Yumie pointed out - some very questionable scenes. I personally just happen to be really into it, having grown up with such anime. I also hope this explains where I'm coming from. The main concern that I have, is your statement at 31:15 "[..] viewing it as a waifu simulator is woefully reductive" I think enjoying fanservice isn't inherently bad. It can even coexist with good narrative imo. I personally love BA for its story, and the fanservice has added to my experience. It just gives some more variety to the interactions imo, from wholesome to outright questionable. And most of the fanservice does happen in the side-content, so even for people who don't like that, it isn't mandatory to experience the main story. (apart from 1 instance at the time of writing this) Fanservice is largely blown up via the abundant fanart, so yeah your assessment of online discourse is absolutely correct. But even then, for people who get into BA due to fanservice it'll still be an awesome experience, since they'll be exposed to the story sooner or later. And I'm 100% sure they'll be blown away at that point. (and we also get a bigger playerbase!) And it's also not like online discourse is *only* fanservice. There's plenty of people who enjoy the story thoroughly. You and me definitely aren't the only people who love BA's story. BA's sub-reddit has several people creating long essays over all sorts of things: which are all a great read! Obviously such discourse does happen in the minority of things - and I too want more of the story to be discussed - but I just wanted to point out that there is (some) constructive discourse going on. I'd rather extend the statement to "seeing it as ONLY a waifu simulator [..] is reductive" (And still - even in such a case, I can't tell other ppl how to consume media. If they get the most out of a game by seeing it as a waifu collector, then: oh well, good on them...) I also would like to hear about your statement at 30:50 "[..] I bring this up as an issue [..] because it breaks the narrative at times [..]" Can you explain that a little bit more? In my experience, it hasn't really broken the narrative. Yes, Ako's L2D is questionable, but it does come with some build-up, so it hasn't come across as too out-of-place for me. The character of sensei also changes behavior depending on which student they're interacting with. With Iori, they are way more mischievous/perverse for example, so this sort of behavior is also established and does flare up here and there, so this phenomenon isn't too exceptional either. Again, maybe this is because I'm just more accustomed to/acceptant of this sort of absurdity, since I've watched a lot of such media depicting this sort of stuff. *Spoilers for the main story Vol. 3 Ch. 3 Ep. 15* * * In the case of the Eden Treaty arc teh fanservice even plays *into* the narrative and theme of phenomenology (please correct me if I used the wrong word here, I'm not a philosopher). How we can have blind faith while being confronted with absolutes. "If you believe your bikini bottoms are panties, they're panties" I daresay fanservice is part of BA because it's a love-letter to late 2000s/early 2010s anime (which are filled with tropes and fanservice, all of which are reflected in BA). But again, maybe I am the one missing out on something, and the most obvious thing is flying over my dumdum head. All in all, awesome video and I hope to see more from you!
Thank god there are people out here talking about the terrible qualities of Gacha games, but who still recognize that the core gameplay and story can be very enjoyable. The common attitude towards these types of games are usually incredibly vitriolic with little to say about the good qualities, and it bums me out as someone who enjoys these games as F2P as possible. I’ve only been playing BA for about a month already and it’s very enjoyable so far. I used to be a FGO player, and man trying to be F2P In that game is a chore. I will happily take BA’s 2.5 3* character rate over FGO’s rates any day. I’m looking forward to the future of the game, and more of your content too! Best of luck.
I'm so glad to be a voice of nuance in the discussion of gacha games! The discourse around gacha really does tend to be dismissive, and with how popular games like Genshin and FGO are, I felt like it was important to outline exactly how gacha games work and why so many of them are still proper games in their own right. My deepest condolences to your FGO playing... that game is absolutely brutal with its gacha rates Blue Archive is really a blessing in that way, especially when so many fantastic characters are given away for free during events!
Saving 2 months for 1 time spark.. So, make sure u just gacha on limited banner (for free player).. The only non-limited gacha I sparked is Marina, and i am not really regret it thou cz I liked red winter army 😌 Now.. I am ready for another limited banner! Oji-san, Chise n Izuna!~
That has been my exact strategy when it comes to pulls; I occasionally have enough pyroxene to make pulls on banners with characters I love, but the limited banners are just such a great value to pick up students, it's well worth saving up! I'm so excited for our beloved Oji-san, Chise, and Izuna to finally get new banners, this Summer event looks like it will be a blast!
Super great review definitely subscribing to your channel. I love this game the characters are super vibrant my 3 favorites are koharu, azusa, and cherino. though I do wish the gacha system was better, for example the limited rate up is super low, in Arknights limited banners you have a 70% chance to get a character featured in the banner when you pull a 6* character which is sooooo much better though in regular banners arknights doesn't have spark only on limited but you need 300 pulls for spark for limited banners in Arknights so I gotta praise blue archive on that respect. I agree that blue archive is very generous with the gacha system which is so awsome, I'm still somewhat new I saved 200 pulls for azusa summer version and I got 2 copies of her so I was able to get her to 5 stars (my first 5 star character) now I'm saving again to have 200 pulls for summer Hoshino banner I hear she's incredibly strong.
Gacha games really are a trade-off sometimes with how generous they are, which can be incredibly frustrating at times! I've heard such great things about the Arknights rates but the high spark trade-off definitely hurts. In the end, the biggest things I consider with gacha games is always how much you are forced to engage with the gacha system, and I appreciate that these games are incredibly lax about that aspect! I just did the same thing! I didn't end up rolling for Summer Azusa the first time even though I had the gems for it and I regretted it for so long, so I had a ton saved up for her this time and finally snagged her! :) Summer Hoshino seems like she will be a powerhouse; her ability to mass-buff explosive teammates is incredible, I am so excited for when that banner will come around!
@@yumietsuchinoko that's one of my favorite things about Blue archive and Arknights they dont force you to participate in the gacha mechanic. I'll use arknights as an example since I have a year in that game, you dont need any of the 6 stars ( the highest rarity characters) to clear around 99% of the content the only exception is high risk contingency contracts the hardest content in the game ( you dont get any rewards for high risk cc it's just for flexing so its completely optional not required at all) you can complete all the content with the free characters in the game theres even content creators with no gacha accounts that prove it. In limited banners you get 24 free pulls in arknights so you do have slight chance to get limited operators if you dont have any gacha currency. And you do get free characters in most events and some of them are very strong sometimes in certain limited events there's even free 6 stars, in the most recent global event Stultifera Navis we got a free 6 star named lumen hes a medic and hes one of the best medics in the game
@@iceghoul_kaneki5477 That is absolutely spectacular, it really sounds like Arknights is just as forgiving with content and not forcing you to pull for 6 star characters! I honestly cannot thank you enough for the insight into the Arknights gameplay; I only spent a short amount of time playing it before getting swamped with work and never had a chance to check it out again, so hearing how you only need the highest level characters for content geared at flexing is fantastic!
The fanservice may take away from your experience, but it adds to the experience of many other players. The mild amount of fanservice seems to me to be a good compromise between acknowledging (most) players desires, and not being "in your face" all the time with sexualization. The amount of fanservice is small and generally easy to avoid. Not every game needs to be religiously anti-sexual, and I think it's good that we get to see another side to the characters. I find it problematic that people try to force their morals on niche communities. The vast majority of media and entertainment is fanservice free, and I don't think puritans should expect to have their wishes catered to by every niche. Each game and community should have its own values and should unapologetically cater to it's own fanbase. Those who don't like it can tolerate it or leave.
10 month too late but there is a teacher there albeit rarely seen. On of them is robot teacher in toki companion story while other is girl from higher grade like kokona and shun
Small country isn't super accurate. Extrapolating from dialogue puts the length of the perimeter of Kivotos's border at slightly less than the US+Canada combined. Yes, that includes Alaska. It also has not only internal suburban and rural areas It also has an entire inland ocean with substantial oceanic shipborne transportation.
I would absolutely love to do that! I'm currently trying to figure out how to structure all that, because there are a few different ideas I have for those videos; I'm waiting on some big story events to happen before moving forward with any Lore videos, but that is my next big plan for Blue Archive content!
a very nice run down of the series. seeing you get all excited about the girls and the setting is adorable. that being said i disagree with the fanservice critique for the most part, it is very possible for fans to both see BA as a waifu simulator and as a legitimately good story. just as Metal Gear can be both parts ridiculous and goofy and over the top, as well as deep, pollical and philosophical. also the fact that you admit you have waifus and like anime girls like that too makes it even more contradictory. if you can have a demon lord waifu why cant BA fans have a demon president waifu? BA actually has a pretty good story for a gacha game and legitimately interesting characters and premises. BUT, it was ALWAYS the gentlemen's Senran Kagura; the Playboy to its Hustler. a game full of schoolgirl waifus in revealing clothing fighting each other that you can legitimately stay for "reading the articles". So complaining about the fan service is like complaining about the centerfold, that's why most are there. so while you may also be a waifu loving bi woman, i feel that that was definitely a woman's sentiment, especially given the absolute dragon's horde of fan art and how the de interviews are. but always glad to see you be so passionate about a great game, good content.
Quick update: I've done some more investigating about those new expert permits, and it sounds like because you cannot select limited students in the character selection screen, you can't use elephs from the expert permit shop to unlock characters, but if you know you will pull for one of those characters, this is a way to level them up to 4 and 5 stars without spending generic elephs! My suspicion is that the best use of the expert permit shop will be to grab equipment vouchers, generic elephs, and exp books, but I'm planning on pulling for Swimsuit Azusa so I've grabbed some of her elephs as well! 🙏 Edit: Cross Wind below made a great observation that when a limited banner is running, you may be able to obtain these limited characters if you have enough elephs (but do keep in mind that is quite a few, for a 3 star that would be 120 elephs!)
i know this video is 4 months old, but it goes very in depth and so i feel i need to be that guy and say that *actually* you cannot unlock a character you never rolled in the gacha from the Mastery Certificate Section, not even if you wait for their banner to rerun. that shop is a way to uncap the limited characters without using ligma, but it's not a way to get "free" limiteds
I would love to discuss the story, I love talking about video game lore and helping people to understand more about the world! I'm a bit burned out currently from how many videos I've released recently, but at some point I think it would be fantastic to release a Blue Archive video getting more into the story of the game and how it all fits together!
I love blue archive, I haven't spent money on it, my gatca budget is already on GI but the quality of the game makes me want to drop some money into this game... Been playing for like a 8 months and I feel like I get t a bunch of 3 stars by just doing content and events. Pretty generous coming from FGO and GI
I'm so glad you've also been loving the game! That was really what struck me as well, the developers really try to reward players with tons of chances for free 1 and 2 star characters, and it's really easy to end up with a lot of 3 stars, even as FTP.
Love the perspective of someone that loves blue archive while still having reservations for some of the… questionable content. I adore the game but the community can get a bit gross at times. Hope we get to see more breakdowns!
That is an excellent question! (also I'm sorry for the late reply, I've been trying to make my way through notifications and just now got to yours!) As a brand new player, if you feel financially stable enough, the guaranteed recruitment tickets (either start dash or attack type) are not a bad bang for your buck, since you'll for sure pick up 3 star characters from it, but I'd say the best deal are the Guaranteed Selector Tickets, which are unfortunately not available currently but I'm hopeful that we'll see them again at the 2 year anniversary in a few months. Otherwise, the monthly pyroxene pass has been a great way of saving up gems for pulls, and I've still found that I can easily guarantee a character with a little less than 2 months of saving!
@@yumietsuchinoko apologies for my lack of understanding, but could you tell me the difference between the 3★ Student Guaranteed Recruitment Ticket (Attack Type). And the guaranteed selector tickets? Also I thought Mika marked the 2nd anniversary of Blue Archive Global? P.s. don't mind it, your answers are very helpful for a novice.
@@dennisdustin6895 Generally, Kotama and Serina are the best 1 star characters to get to 3 star, and then everything else is a matter of preference; I've been in the process of reviewing every student in the game and am about halfway through right now, so I'd recommend checking that out if there are any other 1 and 2 star characters you're interested in!
@@dennisdustin6895 No problem at all! So the Guaranteed Recruitment (Attack Type) tickets will guarantee that you pull a 3 star character of the selected Attack Type, but which character you pull will be completely random, so there's still a considerable gamble involved there. The Guaranteed Selector Ticket, on the other hand, was an absolutely incredible thing they offered at the anniversary, where you could literally select which 3 star student you wanted. It was amazing for snagging a character you really wanted, and I hope they bring it back again in the future! The Mika banner was a highly anticipated event, but crazily enough, she wasn't even the two year anniversary banner! The Global Server released on November 8th, 2021, so we'll have a more formal two year anniversary celebration for the global server at that point.
You mentioning how unconfortable some of the sidestories can get is what actually gave me the push I needed to subscribe. Feels really bad that whenever I feel like recommending this game to other people I have to add multiple "buts" for stuff like Ako's stories, or Iori's stories. They feel especially weird considering how well the game tends to handle the characters, coming from a lesbian who enjoys quite a bit of other fanservice-ey series (probably the reason I mostly don't mind it so much specifically from Hanako since she has total agency in every single scene she's in).
I'm so glad to find likeminded people about this; I truly feel like the team who writes the main story is not always the same team who does the character stories, and it really shows with characters like Ako, Iori, and Karin being tremendously objectified in their side stories, whereas their representation in the main story is more three dimensional. I'm grateful that it's relatively contained in Blue Archive to particular characters, but it is something that will always be jarring when it comes up in the game.
A lot of the senseis actions in Iori's bond stories feel "out of character". They're never shown to act that way towards Iori in main/sub/event stories and never towards another student so it feels extremely out of place, off-putting even. With other students bond stories it at least feels "in character". (With the exception of Karins 2 L2D stories). And the character of sensei feels consistent. If I were to try to point someone towards a great example of the writing without spoiling much in Blue Archive it would be Kayoko's series of bond stories.
Oh my word, has it been that long?! The gacha bit is indeed still correct, although there will be a temporary rate increase during Mika's banner this week, so if you've been saving up gems, now is a great time to use them!
Maybe its hypocritcal because I started blue archive because I saw Hibiki (cheer) and Ako fanart and awooga'd hard, but im so glad i found a channel that is at least not sexualizing... certain types of characters. Love the vibe you give off in both vids and livestreams. Also, when you unlock a relationship story, let's say 02 for Ako, what happens if you don't view it and continue to levelling up Ako's relationship to the next level that unlocks bond story episode 03? Does it erase the text notification for episode 02?
That's a great question! Thankfully, you can level up a character's friendship as much as you want, and whenever you go to check out their character story from the Momo Talk menu, it'll always pick up wherever you left off! :) I actually have a tendency to power-level through friendship when I get a character I like, so I'll hoard a bunch of gifts and then spend them all at once to get a character to friendship 8-10, and then all of their story will be unlocked for me afterwards!
@@yumietsuchinoko i see, thats good to know! Had to force myself to go through any momo talk notifications each time before doing lessons as i feared just that, and as a newer player you're basically bombarded with them everytime, so its good to know i can enjoy them whenever i feel like it
I'll preface this by saying I thoroughly enjoy all of your BA content and this isn't a slight at all. But I think saying things like "the math isn't there" and "do NOT buy these" is a little... callous? I appreciate telling young people especially to stay away from buying packs, but grown adults frequently spend their money on stupider things than a character that you will see on your account daily for years to come. I live in Japan so maybe my opinion has been swayed as spending heaps of money on gacha games is less taboo here, but I feel that math is up to each person to decide. My other hobbies are inexpensive and occasionally dropping a couple hundred bucks on a game that brings me so much joy is worth it to me and many others in financially secure positions. I'm sorry, this is probably a pointless comment -- I guess I just thought the way you phrased things could make players feel bad about their spending even though they responsibly evaluated the worth of it all. I simply had to get my gacha-brained opinion off my chest. I'm looking forward to future BA videos!
I'm so glad to hear I'm not alone on that front! It just feels so completely unnecessary and downright uncomfortable. It continues to be a frustrating aspect of anime-adjacent media that can detract from the great aspects of the characters and story!
@@yumietsuchinoko yeah and I give a lot of stuff passes but blue archive is to far man and it seems like they keep upping the anti i might drop it soon like I wish it was more about protecting the girls with all you have like a true sensei but it has devolved into fucking/ inappropriate touching them….. I hate it
@@kanna2746 It sounds like they might start changing course here shortly, because South Korean regulations will increase the age rating of the game for the global server; Something else I do is check out recollection libraries ahead of time for certain characters just to see if I want to progress their stories to get to that point. Ultimately though, I'd say that not enjoying the fanservice is a COMPLETELY valid reason to not play the game, which is why I wanted to bring it up for anyone who wants to pass the game up for that!
Played from day 1, 100% F2P, I am not very good at raids and stuff like that, generally doing only gold reward, because I don't pull that much (knowing my general bad luck), HOWEVER I am currently ranking in Arena at top 10 to 20 daily easily. Why ? Just because I focused on 4 main units (I basically train them at max stats/skills and affection as much as I can without depriving too much some other units) and 2 very good support/dps units (Hibiki at UE 2* and over lv. 30 affection, Tank special unit Iroha at UE1*) lvl25+ affection, Hoshino as tank/Communist tank girl (evade passive/ulti), and 2 dps (big breast red sniper and tanned imp girl). Yeah if you focus on a specific team, you can climb up arena pretty fast. And yeah, RNG is also a good factor but losing battle has no effect so why not go yolo ! I am also an hoarder type oif player on top of being always F2P. I currently sat upon 175k gems/pyrox whatever we call them on any game I tend to call it gems/diamonds. And even if I usually have bad luck recently it is the opposite, 1rst free offered 10 pull gave me Summer Hoshino (I was saving so much for) and 5th free 10pulls offered gave me Summer Ninja girl I wanted too ! Plus Tank Iroha looted on 1rst ten pull so yeah it costed me only 1.200 pyroxene to get one of the best (if not currently the best one) special aoe damage dealer wreaking havoc in arena ! Just know what you are seeking for and strive to get it. Fun also is a very big relevant matter and money only bring misfortune (I used money on another game -> biggest mistake of my life of gamer cuz I got shyt things then later with earned currency I got what I wanted). Also there is no merit of burning money to get gacha characters or mechas or whatever. Like using a car to win a running race. You only are a "cheater", a lazy mofo and also a weak person to fall for the easy path. Better use that money to get a nice meal RL. But you do you after all, don't pay attention to my ranting hahaha. Anyway, sorry for the long arse text.
I really love this game but I just can't stand how weird the "CuTe and FuNnY" lolicons that like this game are. Like they make it their one and only personality to be open coomers just cause of the "loli" characters which 100% can pull off people. So if you want to like this game to it's fullest then 100% don't interact with the community especially on drawings of these characters. Like even tame ones get bombarded with them. Just enjoy it and only interact when you're very stuck on something in the game or hope to god you can fine a utuber that can explain it with out being a weirdo, cause they are nice people there but those my only personality is saying 'cunny" And 'segs" lolicons do ruin that big time.
Blue Archive content creators that actually talk instead of just posting text on the screen or using text to speech is so rare.
Suscribed for sure!
Thank you!! I really feel like there is so much to love about this game and wanted to try to express that as best I could; I'm so happy that there is an appetite for that in the community!
unwelcome school starts playing as you explain us sensei's are very vulnerable to bullets, yup that fits.
You sound so passionate! Its so nice to listen people talking about stuff they like!

Thank you on the pyroxene thing. I love this game but the prices on the shop for everything minus the monthly deal are insane
That makes me so glad to hear, I feel like it's really easy to feel tempted to buy packs, but for your average player, I just don't think it's remotely worthwhile. If you feel financially stable and want to support the game, the monthly pass has been fantastic, but even playing for free is very sustainable in the game!!
Hoshino made me a fan of BA and i love this game so much!
And im glad i found this channel. It's been VERY helpful
Hoshino is absolutely wonderful, I adore her so much!! I'm SO glad that this channel has been so helpful, I really appreciate your kind words!!
It try it when I got a break from school
just subbed for the BA archive content and your own enthusiasm shining on it 😊
Thank you so much!! I'm blown away by how excited everyone has been about these videos, it makes me so excited for making future videos for you all!
Great stuff. You can feel the passion and dedication seeping through. Love it.
This convinced me to pick up the game! Thank you so much, it's wonderful to hear people talk about games like this ^_^
I was contemplating whether to step into Blue Archive for months!
I hope you continue to make BA content I’m really enjoying you talking about it and how much you like it!
Yes, Genshin could give its players a better reward system
Just started a week ago, absolutely love this game and your review!
That makes me so happy to hear!! I'm so glad you're loving the game and that this review was worth the watch; I know the runtime got pretty long, but I'm so glad you checked it out as a new player!
cant believe that i actually watched till end a 50mins review video about a gacha game
nice work
I'll admit I expected a lot of people to bail since it was so long, so I'm glad you stuck through it even with how crazy long this video became! 🤣
It's nice to find a vtuber who enjoys Blue Archive! I agree the art and especially the world is so beautiful. Looking forward to future videos!
Hello there from the chilly United States! That makes me so happy to hear, I'm so glad that you're enjoying the game and that the tips were helpful!!
Getting horny teenagers into the game is a great way to spread awareness and grow a playerbase, but I swear to God if Rin isn't at least 24 there's gonna be hell to pay lol
P.s. mao'o is definitely best girl, you're also a person of culture cheers!
Your enthusiasm for the game is awesome!! Please keep it up. I wish we have a TH-camr like you for Counterside…
Love all the BA content, been playing myself just over a year and so glad i found this game, probally the best IMO gotcha system or im just stupidly lucky. been a blast since i've started and hope for more to come :D
But one thing I wanted to point out and I apologize if this has been brought up a million times already but for the expert permits getting the limited characters, you can't actually get the limiteds though them as far as getting enough of thier things and having them on your team. you can only use them for when you Have that limited Character. sadly I know this because i saved up enough to get enough beach Hina only to realize in small print says that "limited characters can't be acquired that way . Just wanted to point that out to anyone that didn't know that being that those tickets are so new and all.
AKA just spend them on gear ticket things, or anything else handy in that shop :D
Also keep up the great work, love all the videos so far i've seen of yours, and all have been a great help for learning about and playing this game i spend WAAAAAAY to much time on haha.
Yoo... protect this content creator, our queen
Your section about gacha is really appreciated.
The only reason i don't go out of my way to recomend Blue Archive to most people, unless they are already playing gacha, is that gacha systems can be predatory.
But the stories, characters and assets are so great that i really wished more people could experience it.
Amazing review! Thanks. You have a new sub now :)
"Moom! I want my little halo too!"
Mom: We have Halo 2 at home.
Thank you for doing the gacha math.
The main concern that I have, is your statement at 31:15 "[..] viewing it as a waifu simulator is woefully reductive"
I think enjoying fanservice isn't inherently bad.
(apart from 1 instance at the time of writing this)
Fanservice is largely blown up via the abundant fanart, so yeah your assessment of online discourse is absolutely correct. But even then, for people who get into BA due to fanservice it'll still be an awesome experience, since they'll be exposed to the story sooner or later. And I'm 100% sure they'll be blown away at that point. (and we also get a bigger playerbase!)
And it's also not like online discourse is *only* fanservice.
I'd rather extend the statement to "seeing it as ONLY a waifu simulator [..] is reductive"
(And still - even in such a case, I can't tell other ppl how to consume media. If they get the most out of a game by seeing it as a waifu collector, then: oh well, good on them...)
I also would like to hear about your statement at 30:50 "[..] I bring this up as an issue [..] because it breaks the narrative at times [..]"
Can you explain that a little bit more?
3 Ch. 3 Ep. 15*
*
*
In the case of the Eden Treaty arc teh fanservice even plays *into* the narrative and theme of phenomenology (please correct me if I used the wrong word here, I'm not a philosopher).
How we can have blind faith while being confronted with absolutes. "If you believe your bikini bottoms are panties, they're panties"
I daresay fanservice is part of BA because it's a love-letter to late 2000s/early 2010s anime (which are filled with tropes and fanservice, all of which are reflected in BA).
The only non-limited gacha I sparked is Marina, and i am not really regret it thou cz I liked red winter army 😌
Now..
I have done 7x10 pulls and got no 3 stars at all... The rate is really low.
Love your work keep it up
High energy snek! Based.
I honestly cannot thank you enough for the insight into the Arknights gameplay; I only spent a short amount of time playing it before getting swamped with work and never had a chance to check it out again, so hearing how you only need the highest level characters for content geared at flexing is fantastic!

keep up the good work ;)
The fanservice may take away from your experience, but it adds to the experience of many other players.
As a Nikke player for 1 year now, Wanted to try another gacha game and this looks cool but learning a whole new games mechanics is scary lol
It also has not only internal suburban and rural areas
It also has an entire inland ocean with substantial oceanic shipborne transportation.
Will u be doing some story summaries or maybe like explaining characters back stories. That would be neat
Edit: Cross Wind below made a great observation that when a limited banner is running, you may be able to obtain these limited characters if you have enough elephs (but do keep in mind that is quite a few, for a 3 star that would be 120 elephs!)
IIRC you'll be able to get them when their banners return if you have enough eleph.
@@crosswind2160 that's a great shoutout, I'll make a reference to your comment in the pinned above!
Don't forget credits. You will never have enough credits.
i know this video is 4 months old, but it goes very in depth and so i feel i need to be that guy and say that *actually* you cannot unlock a character you never rolled in the gacha from the Mastery Certificate Section, not even if you wait for their banner to rerun. that shop is a way to uncap the limited characters without using ligma, but it's not a way to get "free" limiteds
Great vid
Will you discuss story of Blue Archive?
I would love to discuss the story, I love talking about video game lore and helping people to understand more about the world! I'm a bit burned out currently from how many videos I've released recently, but at some point I think it would be fantastic to release a Blue Archive video getting more into the story of the game and how it all fits together!
Great video!
God bless, Jesus loves you!
6:53 , wait didn't Momoka had a Lizard tail tho?
Love the perspective of someone that loves blue archive while still having reservations for some of the… questionable content. I adore the game but the community can get a bit gross at times. Hope we get to see more breakdowns!
Okay new player here, do you think the 3★ Student Guaranteed Recruitment Ticket (Attack Type). Is worth it, and what about the start dash 3★ ticket?
That is an excellent question! (also I'm sorry for the late reply, I've been trying to make my way through notifications and just now got to yours!)
As a brand new player, if you feel financially stable enough, the guaranteed recruitment tickets (either start dash or attack type) are not a bad bang for your buck, since you'll for sure pick up 3 star characters from it, but I'd say the best deal are the Guaranteed Selector Tickets, which are unfortunately not available currently but I'm hopeful that we'll see them again at the 2 year anniversary in a few months.
Otherwise, the monthly pyroxene pass has been a great way of saving up gems for pulls, and I've still found that I can easily guarantee a character with a little less than 2 months of saving!
@@yumietsuchinoko
apologies for my lack of understanding, but could you tell me the difference between the 3★ Student Guaranteed Recruitment Ticket (Attack Type). And the guaranteed selector tickets? Also I thought Mika marked the 2nd anniversary of Blue Archive Global?
P.s. don't mind it, your answers are very helpful for a novice.
@@yumietsuchinoko
also have you ever made a video about which 1 and 2 stars are worth getting to three stars?
Alright, small question.
It's been 8 months since this video released.
Is all the information still relevant? (particularly the gacha bit)
Oh my word, has it been that long?! The gacha bit is indeed still correct, although there will be a temporary rate increase during Mika's banner this week, so if you've been saving up gems, now is a great time to use them!
@@yumietsuchinoko Alright, thanks.
Bit of a tech question. But, Blue Archive runs on Android 9+ and my phone's stuck on Android 7. What do I do ;_;
Wait, nvm. I looked into it, apparently phones stop getting updates after a few years
F$$K YEAH NOW I KNOW WHAT A BLUE ARCHIVE IS
Maybe its hypocritcal because I started blue archive because I saw Hibiki (cheer) and Ako fanart and awooga'd hard, but im so glad i found a channel that is at least not sexualizing... certain types of characters.
Had to force myself to go through any momo talk notifications each time before doing lessons as i feared just that, and as a newer player you're basically bombarded with them everytime, so its good to know i can enjoy them whenever i feel like it
The title is clickbait (´ ヮ´)
(I like the video title you chose it's clever haha)
Bruh the gacha i swear is rigged lol
Ive rolled for characters and never got a 3 star.
But the game is super fun
very glad you brought up the fanservice cause it does get weird especially because the girls are so young
I'm so glad to hear I'm not alone on that front! It just feels so completely unnecessary and downright uncomfortable. It continues to be a frustrating aspect of anime-adjacent media that can detract from the great aspects of the characters and story!
@@troy7635 I’m not reading all that….. Pedo
