The sad “we do…” at 2:58 of him realizing that, even though she had to spend so many spoons and exhaust herself, she still appears on the outside to be having fun 😞
Time to share this with EVERYONE I KNOW 😂 it’s always been a struggle to explain spoon theory to people who don’t experience a lack of spoons, so this video is fantastic.
I saw this at the Beyond Sleepy conference in Atlanta last weekend and told my therapist all about it, but we couldn’t find it online. So glad it’s been posted now!! This is genuinely such a good way of explaining the spoon theory in general, and especially for people with chronic illnesses (of any kind).
Why spoons? I understand the concepts, and it is totally accurate, but the spoons? It would also be great to are something that shows that even taking meds does not always help.
It's based on the Spoon Theory. Spoon theory is a metaphor describing the amount of physical or mental energy that a person has available for daily activities and tasks, and how it can become limited.

When will the Beyond Sleepy conference videos be posted? Wasn't able to attend and very curious what the speakers had to say.
We're working on getting them posted! In the next couple of weeks they will be available.
