  • TikTok, CEO Shou Zi Chew testified before the US Congress yesterday. Among the many questions, when asked about the ban on app by India and many other countries. US lawmaker Debbie Lesko asked, 'TikTok is a tool which is ultimately under the control of the Chinese government and screams out with national security concerns Mr Chew, how can all of these countries and our FBI director be wrong?'. Calling the risk hypothetical & theoretical, the TikTok CEO responded saying he hasn't seen any evidence.

Tiktok, although it may be stupid, helps support many small businesses to flourish, which helps the economy greatly. India follows the British democratic system where we have a parliament where all the elected representatives debate. The USA's system is the same with a different name, they have a congress.
In the USA, a company's CEO can be called for a congressional hearing. But in India, the respective ministers are questioned. For example in this case, India's IT minister would have been questioned in the parliament. This is a better form of democracy as a company's CEO is not an elected representative but the IT minister is and therefore, it is his/her responsibility.
The fact that people vote without even following politics and parliamentary sessions is very amusing. Lol
