I rarely ever comment on TH-cam videos, but your videos are phenomenal. I’m subscribed to many other watch channels, but yours elevates everything to perfection. Keep up the excellent work!
Al, this is Al. I didn't want to duplicate the comment by adding my own but I just found the channel and instantly subscribed. Your comment is virtually * exactly * what I wanted to say. I've been watching TH-cam content on the sidelines before TH-cam was made and never felt compelled to comment but #LoveTheSarcasm/LoveTheOriginality @You're terrific!! 👍. Refreshing.
Love the video as per usual. The key to turning the SMP bezel is to place your thumb at the 40min counter and index at 10min. Keep your hand in place and only using those two fingers, rotate the bezel. I haven't had any issues turning the scalloped bezel using this method, but noticed most folks don't use a bezel this way normally so I figured it wouldn't hurt to mention. Cheers!
I really love the look of this so much. I know their ceramic ones are large but that grey side felt and even looked “normal” on me. But yeah. A gorgeous watch. Great review Evan
Brilliant, nuanced, fun, layered, informative, interesting...and I'm not even talking about the watch. Your videos are my weekly highlight now. I don't mean to make you a dependency for my emotional health, but hey, it happens. The education of the videos is only matched by the emotional intelligence in describing the experience all layered in solid production. I still don't want a ceramic Seamaster 300 but damn if it didn't at least make me understand my inner "why" and not just have a commercial and technical relationship.
@@almac9203 dunno. Will say in my handling the omega I have is finished better than most RADO I’ve seen. The use of fully relief dial is truly striking (albeit hard to read).
Awesome video quality. This watch has been on my wrist everyday for about 3 years now. I love it and it just does not age. It still looks as new because it is quite resistant to scratches. Love it! By the way, the waves are raised as opposed to engraved in.
I own this watch and can second everything you said, I own Seiko, Tudor, Rolex, this is my go to piece for everyday, dresses up, down and everything in the middle. Thanks for a great review and for finally shinning light on this incredible piece of engineering. Take care man!

If I can't wear it I'll watch it here. Mostly because I don't know John.
The irony of not liking something that’s popular but being on the most popular streaming platform reviewing the most popular watch brands. All kidding aside, love the videos! Keep ‘em coming.
I honestly never want your videos to end once I hit play. That's a gorgeous Omega! If Rolex keeps their BS up, that watch would be on a short list for my next piece!
I never will understand the idea that one won't buy a watch simply because it's popular. I've never seen my blue Seamaster 300M on the wrist of anyone but myself except at the rare watch group meetup. Same thing with the Speedy.
I'm wondering why they couldn't retain the size to 42mm like the rest in the line, just to standardise the line. Why make it 43.5mm? I tried it on the other day. It's really nice and looks so good. Very lightweight too. Also worth noting is the matte dial it has. The steel model has a glossier dial.
Terrific job again, thanks :) My favorite part of this watch is the reversed dial finishing compared to the standard black one. This matte black dial with shiny waves looks so much better than the glossy dial with matte waves.
Another distinction between this model and the standard 300 is the fact that the dial has a matte finish with the narrow waves being glossy while the standard one is the other way around. This makes this dial a lot less reflective and shiny. Subjective for sure, but i prefer less gloss.
I have the seamaster diver 300, in blue with the rubber strap. I love it. I love the modern design, and feel of the omega. I wear it sporadically and is a great watch. Delighted i bought one.
Great review - love the "low key-ness" of this watch, and the material usage with ceramic and titanium. The white markers have a great contrast with the rest of the timepiece. Now...to try and figure out how exactly you did the whole jump back and forth with the purple/green table surface 🤔
Fantastic Video as always ! Interesting piece, and congrats to your friend who owns it! Tbh I personally really want to see the non wave dial seamasters return!
Excellent commentary! I love this Omega, Especially the brushed hands. Really wish Omega would make a 43.5mm Seamaster Diver 300 in grade 5 titanium and DLC-coat it black. My hangup with this ceramic model was the brittleness of ceramic and its tendency to shatter rather than dent. I ended up getting the PO 43.5 with Grade 5 titanium case, bracelet and dial. It too is a stunner and relatively overlooked by mainstream consumers. Ive yet to feature it on my channel but likely will soon.
The planet ocean 43.5 you say you have is actually around 41.6mm bezel diameter. If you like that size get a 42mm regular Diver. They're 41.9mm diameter.
Saw this in person and really liked it but I fell in love with the white dial/black bezel one. Have had a 2541.80 for forever and have been waiting to love a replacement like this.
I am in the same boat as you with the wrist size, but I went and bought one nonetheless. It is the most accurate mechanical watch I own, gains 0.3-0.5 seconds a day. And that’s both nice and unfortunate, because I cannot wear the watch simply because it is too big. My Globemaster takes its place on my wrist most of the time though.
The industry leaders in ceramic is Rado. I wonder if Omega can access the Rado technology since they are both part of the Swatch Group. Rado could teach Omega how to make ceramic bracelets to pair with the ceramic watches. It would make sense to share the technology.
This is an interesting contrast to the Tudor black Bay ceramic. Very very similar in a lot of ways. Well, except for cost! The sea master does look amazing though. At $8100 though, if one were interested in ceramic, they may also want to consider the Tudor. Great video is always of course.
I’ve the BB ceramic…. Great watch if you’re into the stealthy looks. This version of the seamster looks nicer than the BB ceramic, but if the 42 mm basic seamaster didn’t wear well on my 16 cm wrist (because of it’s ugly non tapering bracelet), I doubt this 1.5 mm wider 1 mm thicker Ceramic seamaster will wear any better (despite being on rubber strap). BB ceramic on the other hand wears like a dream!
I wear mine to the gym everyday and it does make me feel better than everybody else. It really is a great feeling to get home after a morning work out and see the lume as you reset the bezel.
What an amazing video. I own this watch and I absolutely love it.It is quite different from the standard version. Omega fanboys used to say everyone has a Submariner. Guess what? The same can be said about the standard 300M. It is a beautiful watch, but it is too popular.
Hey! I have the rose gold and black ceramic version and I'm loving it! I can see the case back is different from yours with the engravings... on mine the engravings are "silver" colored and not engraved into the ceramic, this doesn't worry me because that's how it is on the website and i got mine from an AD so its legitimacy isn't in question... what I do wonder is that do you know if the caseback is made of PVD coated stainless steel? I can't find any other way to explain how the lettering is silver! And also I've been using mine with a gold bracelet and it seems as though some of the black is wearing off the very edge of the caseback which is something that only happens on PVD coated stainless steel!
Damn, I love that thing! If I didn’t already own the steel version, it’d be on my wishlist. While popular amongst watch geeks like ourselves, I’m not sure the Seamaster is “too popular”. I’ve owned mine for 3yrs now and still haven’t seen anyone else wearing one in person.
Aside from the totally fabulous video (as always) I want you to know how much I appreciated the your frankly excellent references. Perfectly cromulent use of the word embiggened. 11/10.
It’s a great watch! after I bought it and put it on an aftermarket black sailcloth strap, i was wearing it 6 days a week! I sold it for two reasons: my wrist is 6 1/2 inch and I stopped wearing my Sea-Dweller 116600, which was more special & rare.
I have to say: I'm not into ceramic, dive or big watched BUT! I loved this video. You crack me up! Drinks on me, if you find yourself causing trouble in NYC.
Great video & narrative. New subscriber! Totally agree- this is probably my favourite Seamaster too. Looks damn cool in the black/grey colour way & with no date. Size looks great on you (I have 7.2” wrists) but even so id probably prefer 40-42mm sizing. Better than a Submariner…. that’s the ultimate question…. 😉
A great watch, but why does it have to be bigger and thicker than the standard SM 300 diver? I wonder if it's just to differentiate it or show it's premium credentials?
I like this dial more than the steel version. It's much less blingy. This dial is mostly matte with only the wave lines being shiny. The dial on the metal version is mostly shiny with only the wave lines being matte.
Because of the size I went with the regular seamaster 300 with black dial and rubber strap. Have the watch for a week and I have to say it looks great. I had the Tudor Pelagos and I like Omega more, bacause it has more going on with the dial, markers...
