Interesting note for the first tip. Don’t use music at a means to escape tough feelings. I would often blast music whenever I was alone because I didn’t want to deal with my breakup. I thought it was helping me move on, until my therapist told me it was actually me avoiding my feelings and instead prolonging my healing journey. Sitting in silence can be tough, but sometimes it’s needed (of course, ensuring you don’t go overboard as that also can be harmful). Doing meditations helps!
This is something I needed to see. I have lots of health issues and can't do as much as I'd like, and my mind tends to always be active. It's like I have a constant monolog of thoughts and daydreams, and music is like a fence that keeps it in check. But I need to let myself and my brain relax and learn to be silent. It's as if I'm nervous of what thoughts will be there when silence comes. Thanks again for this 💙💜
Yes, I realized after years music can also be a drug. It has a lot of power for good or bad. That's why positive or calm music like Aileen was talking about, is great. Music has energy from the vibe and artist so it's important to be selective with it. Similar to affirmations you speak to yourself, the words of the music have similar power.
That's an interesting perspective. As a musician, I think playing & practising music can actually help. It's different to listening - but it also depends how you listen, and how you play (and what kind of music you play /listen to!)

@@a.w3825 Real and visible to my body. Strawberries for example, they’re my favorite fruit, but they give me little welts if they touch my skin.
My husband is always on his phone it drives me nuts. His excuse is everything he does and wants to learn is on his phone. Grrrrr🤦🏻♀️
