Walts construction work is more about him being bored out of his mind when he doesn't get to cook, that's why he put down the paint buckets and told the guys to stay out of his territory. He decided this is what he wants to do, not paint.
I'm pretty sure the actor playing Walt Jr. actually was 16/17 at this point. 'Reality is Unrealistic' I guess.
Atleast it isn't a 25 yr old playing a high schooler.

This is the best scene in Breaking Bad imo. Just epic.
Calvin doesn't need to suspend disbelief. RJ Mitte was most definitely 16 while shooting this episode. He didn't turn 17 until three months after the entire season had aired.
Even though the pool scene was cringey, Walt Jr. was proud of himself for downing three drinks.

Cancer gave Walter a chance to reclaim his manhood through his work as a meth guy. When the test result showed that he was in remission, he felt as if he was losing part of his manhood. Ironically, the sicker he was, the closer to death he was the manlier he felt. Good health meant that he would have to go back to being the domesticated husband he once was.

I was just watching the Rooster Teeth Spoilercast episode on Breaking Bad from years ago just a few hours ago, and they talked about how Shannon McCormick was in an episode, and it just so happens that is the episode that comes out today. xD

Man. I'm rewatching the show right now myself - am near the end of season 4 - and, I have to say, season 2 is by far the best season. While the show absolutely stays great afterwards, season 2 was so damn well-structured and written, so laser-focused on the story it wanted to tell from the very beginning. Watching the dominoes be deliberately set up throughout and then fall so naturally where they do in the next three episodes is incredibly satisfying, and even more impressive and enjoyable on rewatch. This season has my favorite chunk of Walt's character development too - I don't think Walt is ever quite as fantastic as a character in the future as he is right now, just because of how compelling his material here is, and how expertly it's handled (in this episode especially).
I kinda wish the show had kept this style of writing the whole way through. From season 3 and onward the writers famously started making it up as they went along, and while they did a DAMN good job of it, you can feel the difference in approach almost immediately.
I agree completely, glad someone else feels the same way.

Well, they're Americans reacting to an American show, so obviously they're referring to their own laws, where prostitution is illegal everywhere except some parts of Nevada. They're not making a moral judgement, or anything.
