  • This is an informal tour of the indoor (hydroponic) vegetable garden that I've been growing for supplemental winter food production. You will see Peas, Beans, Lettuce, Collard Greens, Celery, Water Cress, Kohlrabi, tomatoes, peppers, radishes, cucumbers, bitter melon, and more growing! There is also a quick view of the harvest at the end.
The plants are growing in a variety of easily sourced containers, including 3 sets of 10 gallon totes/10 gallon bins, 4 sets of 5 gallon buckets, 5 sets of 3.5 gallon buckets, and vinyl downspouts. I am using a combination of 2 inch net pots, and WLB's with expanded shale as the primary substrate. There is aeration and a fan during normal operation making this an "active" deep water culture (DWC) hydroponic setup per my understanding (although the gutters and seedlings are in a passive DWC configuration).
This is somewhat disorganized, but I wanted to provide the video so I can update with progress after harvesting, rearranging, and setting tomatoes to flower. Future videos we can cover setting up and improving upon this hydroponic vegetable garden / winter garden. I would like to hear our suggestions about this garden and I hope you enjoy the tour.
    ** Tips greatly appreciated! **
