Aw, try to enjoy the gray and mellow days, I thought you were one of the few like me who didn't like bright glaring lights? Sometimes bright sunshine makes me more depressed than a gloomy rainy day! Take everyone's advice here, chill out, take naps, and wear some cozy layers -- spring will arrive all too soon!
Add lots of hanging white lights (Christmas lights) around your house and outside. They are so beautiful at night around window frames and seeing the house light up outside.
I love winter. Usually, bright colors and candles help to make it "warmer". Or, if bright colors around are not appreciated, then bright colors in food help. Oranges, persimmons, drinks made with bright red berries.
Tall muck boots are a necessity up here! For a visual artist, trips to colorful places will be a life saver by March! Think Art museums and galleries! Lack of color is tough.
Oh, and thanks for mentioning Laura and Aaron's channel. When you started showing their tapestry I thought it looked like theirs, so eas happy you gave them a gratis shoutout. Kudos on you!
Re winter blues, it could be that you need to take a Vit D supplement. 2000units (50mcg). I take more, but I also get my labs checked regularly. Thank you for sharing. It's a reminder to all of us to look out for one another. Feel good!
Yes, please everyone, check your vitamin d, maybe also B12, especially if you are vegetarian or vegan. I am a senior taking some all natural calcium, vitamin D3, and K2. Am sleeping better than I have in years!
At the end, you said to give yourself permission to rest. I agree! Your forest and the animals are resting. Bedroom: you can move the bed out from the wall. I would put it in the middle of the room with the back of the headboard to the door. Sitting in bed and facing the window would be lovely. Also, then you are not feeling the whole empty space. You can set up a little chair nook as well. Maybe you have that in the room already. Also then you don't see the large slanting ceiling walls. Your bed cover is lovely! 6:34
Just started following you, I didn't realize you shot film :-) I also Have a Yaschica! Film and photography are my love. I'm really enjoying your videos.
Do what the Swedes do! Add cozy lights around the house that aren't too bright but are cheerful and keep having friends over and enjoying those nice recipes! I love cuddling up and enjoying a good novel and tea, or writing and decorating in my planner.
I don't know if those are actually ladybugs, they may actually be lady beetles, and they are different. Lady beetles bite, and stink. If you have animals they can attach to the roof of their mouths and irritate them. I'm in the UP of Michigan and we see them twice a year. You can search the difference between the two to see which you have. I get the winter blues, too. I've been trying to set up traditions and routines to keep it at bay as much as possible. This year I'm trying to keep in mind that the winter solstice is not just the 1st day of winter (because that's depressing, especially when you've been dealing with a little winter before that.) But I'm trying to think of it as the last short day, and celebrate that everyday from there on out is going to be longer and brighter.
I am sorry but a lot of people get the blues in Winter.Me myself I love Winter, but I am elderly women so I don't go out much unless I need to. Plus I have grandkids that stay with me I am constantly busy baking, cleaning or rearranging Love the channel

You are surrounded by so much beauty, rest in it. I like puzzles, reading and long naps in the winter.

Vitamin D is critical to combat winter blues.
Winter is my time of rest and in it I crochet do pottery. Sometimes I hike.
