      Amit Kumar - the minister in charge of the salmon farming in Norway is corrupt & has a huge personal investment in the business! In addition, the pellets they feed the fish, has toxic chemicals that are found in Round Up because the manufacturers of fish pellets don’t care or are ignorant!

      The pesticide that is manufactured by Monsanto and put in fish feed is called ethoxyquine. It is not regulated in the fish pellet industry. Acceptable levels are 50 mg, but it is 500- 1000mg in fish pellets. This chemical can pass the blood brain barrier. This information come s from the investigative documentary. Fillet Oh Fish.

      @@debbies.5975 They use it on the pellets to keep them from going bad. its a preservative that is allowed to be used on food thats fed to animals, but its not traceable in beef or fish fillets. atleast, it shouldt be.

    I've recently gave my last two cans of salmon to the cats from the neighbors, since I saw a program on the Norvegian salmon farms. I've decide to eliminate for good this fish from my menu. Now I know about what is actually in the cans or in plastic wrapper, I'm surprised a) shops still offer salmon for sale and b) that not more people know about the criminal aspects of what probably is one of the most poisonous foods available. Shame on you, Canada, Norway, Scotland, Ireland & co. Shame !

    One thing I did not see mentioned in this documentary it’s kept pretty quiet and a lot of people don’t know about it but those pens they use defoliants on those pens and that defoliant is the cousin to agent orange. Now the US that’s the fight in Vietnam they were around ancient orange almost all of them are dead and they’re Dead from cancer.
    When the farmed salmon or harvested 25 to 30% of it is discarded because they are so skinny and sick and anemic or they have tumors on them their heads are misshapen they are messed up. They don’t want you to know about that part they only sell the fish that look real great but you’re eating nothing but pure poison.

  • @shirleymorneau6409
    @shirleymorneau6409 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Funny nothing is mentioned about the effects of people eating this fish. Isn't that the intended goal anyway, to feed them to everyone with no regard to the safety of eating it? It's just a big government cover up in Canada.

  • @westpur
    @westpur 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I have a solution to the whole problem. First step is the only fish farms aloud should be land based pond fish farms. With 1/2 mile from the ocean. They can buy the land and dig ponds to raise the fish. Then submit water quality test to an independent facility 2 times per month. Plus after the grow out of one crop of fish the pond is emptied and the bottom waist cleaned up. Then refilled with water. At no time can water from these ponds be returned to the ocean waters. The water from each pond emptied and can be filtered to clean it up. The pollution that the is caused by ocean fish farming is a cost to anyone that eats fish, or anything else. An who wants to go to the beach and have a great day with toxic fish and water ? This idea is the best way to deal with fish farming. Keep them out of our oceans and bays. Move them into ponds and keep it clean. In time even the fish farmers will see the cost benefit of pond raising fish. The diseases and sea lice will be gone. It is a win win.

      As it was stated in the documentary, Democracy is far more than showing up to vote from time to time. It's about research, getting involved in issues one cares about, telling others your concerns, blogging and last but not least, it's about where you spend your money.
      With these pen raised salmon, they can do all the pens they want and crank out zillions of salmon, but if NOBODY wants them because it is destroying wild salmon stocks, that industry ain't going to last. Period.

      Unfortunately, saving the planet is a bigger job than any government can do. It is up to individuals to do their part, and to influence their cultures toward sustainability.
      Besides, that is not the purpose of government, not to get too political.

    • @chiparoo222
      @chiparoo222 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Job vs the environment. If it comes down to doing what's necessary for self survival of self and family, it's only logical that the "here and now" quality of life issue of self preservation wins out over future ecological concerns and species preservation concerns. The economic paradigm we are entrenched in is too entrenched to change it to a new philosophy of ecological super-conscience mode (as is needed) - is unrealistic thinking.

      There is a documentary on youtube about salmon farming on the west coast that is diseasing and killing off the wild salmon as well as farmed salmon. It is proven that three diseases have been transmitted from eggs purchased from Norways toxic salmon farms. Farms are not saving the population when they are feeding the fish with pellets containing poisons that are banned to be used anywhere near any other meat source in the human food chain. Monsanto produces that highly questionable poison and it has been detected in fish on the counter.

    Good Morning Class ....Wow it look's like we have a massive "Free Market" student body this year OK Now class what the First order of business in the Capitalist free market system We do what ? We Privatize the Profits while we do what with ALL down side's We Socialize the downside . right all the benefit flows upward and all the negative downside get's passed directly down to either the Environment Or society in General .Are you getting this all down class...Remember we must all protect the CEO at the top so anyone who whistle blows a word about any of our wrong doing will wish they were dead and it's because of our very powerful friends in Government that we are protected even at the expense of the public at large . You need to remember we are all members at the same clubs we purchase our Jets at the same Jet R Us shop we own inland's next to eachother . So we never end up in court NOT EVER we do however toss some Jr Management type person we have normally acquired thru some kind of black mail deal or other to take the fall ... So just to let you know Our family's have been collectively screwing the general public as a matter of day to day business practices since day one . It's our right sure profits are booming but who care's we would much rather make some good old fashion long term community misery while we live in the lap of vile luxury knowing they haven't heating oil or food enough for the winter we take great pride in knowing we have had your great great grand father working for us since the beginning at about the same rate .. We are the ruler's over all we survey plus we have meeting every year to discus the plan's for your demise or future which ever is more entertaining .. So we don't really actually care either way ..but not to worry just when you think it's nearly time to retire Our Uncle's in the Banking cartel will come up with a new scam to wipe your pension investment right out almost like the plan a friend had to help some wanna be become President back in 2000 the price of that was when they raise the Petroleum prices to wherever the like nobody will say a word NOT even GOD .. and guess what .. They did raise them and guess what else NOBODY said a word NOT even GOD .. Can you believe it overnight there profits more than doubled and the tripled in one year each fiscal quarter they netted 64 Billion in Net profit .. So yea the Extremely wealthy have been manipulating all of man kind for century's without anyone saying a word those who tried ended terrible almost magically or got a rare form of cancer . Anyway maybe someday someone will do a Movie about these folks ..

    There will not be really solutions, until we don't accept a basic fact: we cannot eat so much fish, there is no sustainable way to produce enough fish if everyone on earth wants to eat like we do. The REAL solution is to adapt our diet to what is best for us, namely plant-based diet, and those who want should consume animal products, fish included, very rarely, according to nature's cycle. This would make wild fishing sustainable. The fish-farming industry would shut down production plants and convert itself into something else less damaging for the environment and the human health.
