Besieged troops loyal to Cambodia's ousted premier on Tuesday (26/08) shattered an uneasy calm around their last bastion by unleashing a fresh attack on their powerful rivals. The fight, led by heavy cannons, mortars and machine-gun fire, came a day after the royalist Ranariddh troops clawed back crucial territory from the soldiers of Cambodian strongman Hun Sen, averting what seemed to be an imminent defeat.

ในคลิปเป็นช่วงเวลาที่ฮุนเซ็นทำการรัฐประหารเมื่อปี 2540 และกวาดล้างทหารฝ่ายพระนโรดม รณฤทธิ์ รวมถึงพวกเขมรแดง
ซึ่งเหตุการณ์ในคลิปเป็นช่วงที่ฝ่ายฮุนเซ็นเข้าโจมตีเมืองโอเสม็ด ซึ่งเป็นฐานที่มั่นสุดท้ายของฝ่ายพระนโรดม รณฤทธิ์และเขมรแดง และตั้งอยู่ติดกับชายแดนไทยพอดี
จึงไม่แปลกที่ทหารของฝ่ายพระนโรดม รณฤทธิ์และเขมรแดงที่บาดเจ็บหนึเข้ามาทางฝั่งไทย แถมมีลูกปืนใหญ่จากฝ่ายฮุนเซ็นลูกหนึ่งหลงเข้ามาฝั่งไทย ทำให้ทหารไทยเสียชีวิต 1 นาย

We are lucky because the Philippines is an Archipelago... there is no border conflict except the Borneo problem way back then.. But each country needs a strong navy before it can launch an invasion... both countries dont have that. Unlike land war.. soldiers can trade gunfire and tanks and trucks can just cross the border. Yes indeed the Philippines is a lucky country.

I'm also a Soldier taking part in this war however I wasn't send out to a battlefield, just a stand by army. Also I'm a Cambodian however I found this war very unnecessary. First Thailand was sending their troops along 500 people sorrounding a pogada near Preah Vihear. That time Cambodian military just stand by and send only 10 people out as an observers but they got shot from a far range which is unforgivable. Now the war is gone, let's peace be with us forever, and remember those mighty fallen soldier.

I can't remember since im not connect with the story between Cambodia and Thai but as I know the ICJ first trial on that temple in 1950s, ICJ gave to Cambodia and the recall for the justice in 2000s the clash happened after Cambodia still win at ICJ. There were political crisis in Thailand at that time the yellow shirt protesters tried to raid the temple, 4 Thai monks illegal cross the border in to Cambodia they sent back to Thailand, the chaotic happened after Cambodia arrested 2 Thais soldiers that cross in to their territory and Thai start shoot artillery in to Cambodia Cambodia shoot the multi rocket back. It's a war both side dead for sure, but the winner will be the one that success protect their territory and have that temple the stone you both die for.

Question is why do you think us Thais must hate Cambodians? Naturally criminals don't need to hate victims, they just do their crimes on them. Then you could think that victims hate the criminals after the crimes they did to them. So basically if you're that much sure that us Thais must hate Cambodians in any conflicts that's because you realized the Cambodians are the doers while us Thais are the victims. Before that presumption that Thais attack Cambodia first and more, you should contemplate on the facts, What, When, and How. You'll only see the tiny significance of this conflict in our side, and a huge significance on your side.
The truth is amongst all the negativities that Cambodian netizens spammed all over social medias against us, too few take bad effects on us, not to mention the firebacks on your side that could've been more and worse. So basically only small groups of people here are aware of this conflicts or at least took it as a threat.

From my understanding this was a war about land. Thailand was trying to claim the Preah Vihear temple which apparently fell under the Khmer Empires land.
I did some research and it seems from that of 900C.E to 1300C.E the Khmer Empire stretched quiet far into the, now Thailand, boarders. So respectfully speaking, Preah Vihear actually falls under the Khmer Empire. However, upon doing extra research there does seems to be some contradictory in both histories but I have found the history of the Khmer Empire more prevalent in my research.
In all honesty, both the khmer people and thai people need to push their pride and egos aside and try to search for the truth before spreading such unnecessary hate amongst each other.
Preach Vihear is actually for Cambodia we built it since the 1800-1900 believe me then Thailand tried to steal our precious land and also Preah Vihear
