I appreciate that you bring this to the Ring rather than let it look nice in a garage on ten year old tires. I guarantee everyone at Brünnchen felt the same that day.
that's exactly what it is. The driver wasn't even close to using the Carreras full potential, which again makes sense, considering that he had no need to do it and also how difficult the Nordschleife is.
And the reason for that is it's engine is a good naturally aspirated 6 liter V10 coupled with a 6 speed manual gearbox, combined with a lightweight chassi. You don't need turbos to be fast and at ease when you have that combo. Unfortunately, building cars that way is becoming a forgotten art, as nowadays most car makers are taking to turbos and automatic boxes, and cars are getting increasingly heavier.
It looks very agile at the corners, very fast, it seems it never gets to its peak! The motor sounds so calm, not tired, not even at the last part of the Nurbur. The driver is outstanding too.
Carrera GT......amazing balance and authority at speed....just squirts past traffic....the Chairman of the Board in every respect. Thanks so much for posting.
This is exactly what a car like this was meant for, being enjoyed as a car, not a statue in a garage. This is awesome!! There are those that would say "but if he wrecks it then it is ruined and he lost money..." To which I say, so? He is enjoying his car, as a car, and if it does get destroyed, the car went out in a way it died a quick, honorable death. Instead of dying a slow, agonizing death just sitting and looking pretty.... Cars may not be alive to most people, but I see them as living, breathing beasts that need to be let out of the cage from time to time.
Very nice indeed. As others said, it's great to see someone use the car as it was intended... You said it's your first lap at the Ring with the CGT but I assume you've had quite a few laps in other cars. I've had the pleasure to drive the ring for 4 laps a few years ago and I have to say during the 4th lap, I could swear there were corners I had never seen before !!!
Nice drive... fast enough to have some fun, but still not taking any chances. This may have been one of Maxoge's first laps with this car, but I'll guarantee he's been around that track more than a few times.
You have a great pair of... hands :) I understood that here what counts is the moment, the infinite experience of driving the machine out there. Great memories you bring me, trust me. Carry on and we expect more videos like this.
I'm impressed. This car is a handful. Even Walter Röhrl said he had respect for it. You did a BTG in about 8 minutes with quite a lot of traffic and that in such an exotic car. Very impressive.
This has to be my all time favorite porche. I just love how wide these gts are. I love the gt3 and 2 as well but the Carrera gt is one of my top 5 favorites.
Driving that car on the nurburgring requires a gigantic set of balls ! That car on a regular street is crazy let alone on the hardest track in the world. I salute you 👍👍
Never thought someone would upload a new Carrera GT onboard video at the ring And the camera is at the perfect place to see everything that is going on Thanks for the upload :D #Eargasm
Much love and respect for driving this last great driving machine how it should be! Thank you for the upload, it was blissful to ride vicariously with you.
Holy crap, this is awesome! You said it right man - it isn't about lap times, this is not GT3 RS. Great driving, I really love people who enjoy their supercars ;-)
Not about lap times, but not only you did a pretty decent time regardless of traffic, but it was in traffic, so it was even better. Smooth driving, hope you share more of it!
right...the carrera gt has no electronic stability system, but wrong...it surely has anti lock (ceramic) brakes and traction control. ----- cars like the british TVR Sagaris or the Noble M600 has non of the electronic helpers.
This car commands respect and definitely the driver gave it all the respect in the world, not abusing anything on the car and live to tell about it later.
Are you running the new(er) Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, which replaced the Pilot Sport PS2 tires. I've read they greatly improved the handling of this car.
Man, usually in these kind of videos there's someone behind the wheel who can't drive stick for shit, but you... Are you a racing driver? The upshifts, the downshifts, it was all so smooth. Music to my ears. This clutch will last ;)
@Maxoge: 2:57 I really liked how you knew the track location direction was accessible. And, felt the RPM leveling accurately enough to know instead of full downshifting, you could continue on into progressive upshifting. I respect someone who knows how to drive race, and speed. Be safe.
nice job of safely driving quickly beautiful car, one of my all time faves. Little messed up on some of those shifts, otherwise congrats u brought her around without a scratch
You got that right! Taking one of the best cars ever made for a hot lap on one of the greatest tracks ever created... Lucky guy is truly living life to the fullest!
And like all Porsches.. Drive it to the track, track it all day, and then drive home in it. Unlike Fancy Ferrari's that get trailered to the track, tracked for a few laps.. break down and trailered to the shop.
Can't do anything else but to join the majority of the comments and give all the kudos to you. Great driving, very precise and smooth. Beautiful to watch, thank you for sharing. P.S. You need a great pair of gentlemen equipment to drive that thing on the Ring (anywhere to be honest).
Talk about a light crank/flywheel. That thing revs down very fast...several of his slower upshifts had to pull the engine back up to speed. Overall great driving!
Amazing video this is the most beautiful car in the world for all time. V10 engine sound like a f1 and manual gear box. Not the new awful maclaren Senna.
I appreciate that you bring this to the Ring rather than let it look nice in a garage on ten year old tires. I guarantee everyone at Brünnchen felt the same that day.

Finally, a rich dude who can drive!
KR!RK in Germany everybody can drive
Kr Dz you could argue that he was the cause of death for around 20 million people, but yeah, he was a great guy.
@@phil9916 wait, what ?
someone commented something about hitler and the autobahn i think, he removed the comment or it got removed

Nice powerslide at the end. I´m glad that this car is driven like for what it was build for. Thank you for sharing this :-)
One of the best cars ever made!

To killed paul walker
@@aryabramantyo4340 yes very tragic
@@aryabramantyo4340 how do people think the porsche killed paul? It was the driver. It's honestly like blaming boeing for 9/11
@@retard1415 this car is fast and very very very light that can cause u out of control
@9:20 is what we are all here to see. The calmness and smoothness of that correction is what experience is. 👍
The sign of a guy who knows what he's doing.
The real analog supercar 🙌
Ultimate frontier for a manual transmission the Carrera GT
The koenigsegg CCR or CCX (don't know if both) also had manual transmition. And paired with around 800hp.
Great video. This car, this track.. Incredible!
in der tat ;-)
Ja, ich bin Stalker und das ist gut so!
PS.: Scheiß Rückspiegel!
Carrera GT + skilled driver = absolute beasting :)
damn this car is quick, the thing barely has to use any revs. sounds like its chilling out yet still passing cars

@@shaokahn983 thank the EU for that!

This is not an easy car to drive, this guy is certainly treating her right
can we just take a moment to appreciate how good of a driver he is. 👏🏻
mesmerising video, thank you for taking us along for the ride.

I love onboard car videos like this, just one view, one circuit, no talking, no music, only engine music and excellent driving. Great shifting!!
That was awesome - great clip!

Tell him to buy another one...they are cheap.
IMO one the the greatest engineering achievements of all time. And thanks for sharing. I enjoyed watching this as opposed to all flappy paddle laps.
An amazing car driven by a skilled professional. The Carrera GT at it's best 😊👍🏼
Damn man nice control when she was going wide there at the end !!!
Nerves of steel also ! for driving a 500.000euro + car that hard

Abhay Karthik dangerous car? Not really
Marcel K the Carrera GT is notoriously tricky and unforgiving to drive. Also no ABS, no TCS, no ECS ,nothing.

Amazing how smooth and fast it is. Most cars that go that fast really have to saw the steering wheel back and forth to get the proper line.
Even driving it at only 7 or 8/10ths, it's still crazy fast. Love the Carrera GT!
