Jenie U. Rayla Pola Cluster Answer: I think this piece of literature by Edgar Allan Poe is also a story that has a deeper meaning. The author applies a horror or fantasy theme to this literary text. More than the language, moods, and description in the story, the author wants to convey a message about one of the greatest fears of a man. And it is SILENCE. For some, silence is what they need and serve as their comfort zone. But in this story, silence is a horrible circumstance a man can ever experience. The moral lesson of this story, "Silence- A Fable" is that being in a quiet place or in silence, is what people fear most. Because when people are in silence, things get triggered and people become stressed and depressed. And I think this the reason why some are listening to music when they are alone at home or when they are in a quiet place. Because for them, silence means loneliness. The bottom-line is we should learn how to respect people like them and understand that their feelings or emotions are valid.

Poe was known to suffer from depression, alcoholism, and grief, and he often wrote about the themes of death, madness, and isolation. The man in the story could represent Poe himself, who was fascinated by the dark and mysterious aspects of life, but also tormented by them. The demon could represent Poe’s inner demons, or his critics, who mocked and challenged him. The silence could represent Poe’s fear of losing his creativity and inspiration, or his longing for peace and tranquility. The lynx could represent Poe’s connection to nature, or his animal instincts, which contrasted with his rational and artistic mind.

Perlita O. Calingasan 3A Gloria Cluster Answer Silence a fable by Edgar Allan Poe is a fascinating story about a character who learns how powerful and important silence can be in expressing feelings and truths. In the story, the main character faces different situations that make them question their beliefs about communication. These situations show that words can be misleading and that silence can sometimes convey emotions and truths more effectively.Poe uses silence as a metaphor to represent how humans seek genuine connections and understanding. The story highlights the significance of listening and observing actively, rather than just speaking, to form meaningful relationships with othersThe fable makes us think about language and suggests that words may not always be enough or truthful, while silence can convey deeper emotions. This challenges the idea that speaking is the most important form of communication. In other hand “Silence” makes us think about the importance of silence in forming real connections and prompts us to reconsider how language can limit expressing deep truths. The story invites us to explore the power of silence in our own lives and relationships.

I think this piece of literature by Edgar Allan Poe is also a story that has a deeper meaning.

The interpretation of the FABLE-SILENCE is that the fable is a reflection of Poe’s own life and struggles.

"Silence-A Fable"by Edgar Allan Poe (Interpretation and Evaluation)
This fable,if we reck it right,is intended to indicate the horror of Silence-that man may not be entirely accursed while he can hear the sounds which hurtle in the bosom of nature;the curse of tumult is represented as happiness to the curse of silence.
Portrays how humans can feel about silence; how it both brings people joy and causes them sorrow. Some enjoy having silence because it helps them concentrate. Some hate silence because their brains fill with dark thoughts when there is no noise to drown them out.
A very short story indeed but spellbinding, mysterious and mystical, this prose- poem is a fable told to the narrator by a demon.

The story of Edgar Allan Poe's "Silence-a Fable" is a narrative about a man who listens to the devils and observes nature. The Demon attempted but failed to capture the man's attention away from nature. So the demon cursed nature for remaining silent. As a result, the man could no longer hear the sounds of nature. The story is a metaphor for the burden of guilt and the unavoidable repercussions of moral cowardice. To express the agony of a guilty conscience, Poe combines strong imagery and psychological aspects. The story provokes thought about the moral implications of silence as well as the haunting nature of one's own culpability in the face of crime. The novel concludes with a thought-provoking examination of the psychological consequences of moral actions.

The best lesson that I could ever get in the story , is being in a quiet place, in a silence what the person fear the most because whenever people in silence there are things that get triggered and it makes people stressed and depressed that's why when we are in our house it's super quiet we just turn a radio, play our favorite music and watching TV to sooth the loneliness.

Answer
Silence a fable by Edgar Allan Poe is a fascinating story about a character who learns how powerful and important silence can be in expressing feelings and truths.

"Silence- A Fable" is a fable delivered to the narrator by a demon, a brief story but it's fascinating, intriguing and magical. The demon describes a regeion where everything in nature is corrupted and decayed. Demon in the story represents or symbolizes as the chaos, so the man there is more focusedon the nature because i think he's some kind of afraid of the silence. The humanity's affinity for chaos may regard humanity's inability to cope with itself. We tend to use chaos as a distraction because we are afraid of being left alone in silence. As i have understood the story the man was afraid to raise the emptiness of himself. So, the interpretation was said that while man can avoid facing his own emptiness and insignificance by focusing on the external turmoil and disorder of life, his worries cannot be hidden in solitude and stillness and the demons become manifest.

Silence: A fable, is one of the most quoted ones. The story tells of the silence the Demon experiences in the thickness of the Zaire River and his interactions with the plants and a particular curios character of a man there . While the man who sits upon a rock is quiet the entire time, the lilies rooted in the river, the tall trees in the forest, and the waters of the river, are all loud in their movements. So are the clouds in the sky. However, the expanse beyond the river is desolate and lifeless, which the writings on the stone rightly indicates. The man that sits upon the rock has the same characteristics. The curse of the Demon changes the state of things to silence when he mentions the word causing the man to scatter. In describing the sneaky and often shocking behavior of the Demon and the silent nature of the man upon the rock, as well as the disturbing sounds of the plants and the elements, the author attempts to portray darkness.
The main theme of the story is darkness. The Demon is silent while he observes the actions of the man on the rock at the river but later bursts into curses, all of which have an overwhelming impact on everything.
