Just got this shoe and am really loving it for uptempo workouts. It does feel kinda wild and unstable to just walk around on but I guess that’s to be expected? I’m not sure since I’ve never had a “race day shoe” before. Thanks for the review!
Amazing review! Iam going to use them in my Next two half marathons, trying a PB. I put them in some trainings and I enjoyed them a lot, mainly cause of the cushion (much better than sky plus) and the response. For a full marathon Iam still an Alphafly fan (v3 is wonderful)
I don't have the Sky Paris or an Alphafly, but I do have the Edge Paris. I'm predominantly a forefoot striker, and for me the shoe has a volatile bounce, slinging me forward like I'm running with a hefty tailwind. But there are people that say that the Edge barely has any bounce, so there's definitely a market for both versions.
@@joshuaxruns It's nice when shoes get sent to you, but paying for the shoes yourself, I'd save the money for the next big thing (and there always is one...).
@@preshx18Hi🙂 overall good; i didn't run goal time but run a PB; best organized race; entrance in zone is fast; atmosphere on course is good, excellent music stages, cheering is good but not like in London and NYC Expo is best but too crowded even in Thursday; city nothing special, architecture is good and tracks on lake shore, but main attractions and parks above average
I ran the MSSP on a hilly half and was fine, but the AF3s wider base would probably be better for the full distance. So for NYC, I would go with the AF3.
I’m dealing with some horrible blisters so these are unfortunately sitting here waiting for me to try (curse you More V5’s!). I’m worried about stability but the upper feels so snug to size I’m feeling like it won’t be an issue the way it is in the loose VF3’s. Unfortunately this does feel like a 5k / 10k shoe upon first feel but mostly perfect for that. Buying shoes inspires me to go out and put the miles in…
Thank you! And I feel you on the blisters thing. I typically just tape up if that starts to happen with any of my carbon plated racers (it seems to happen across multiple brands). And I do agree this shoe is great for shorter distances due to its weight but may be sketchy at the full marathon distance.
Mine are at 184km and I agree with this 100mi assessment. 👍
Thank you!

Walking around in carbon plated shoes can always feel weird. It blows my mind to see people wearing them as casual every day shoes.
Not bragging. But I have every racing shoe on the market and these are by far the best. For me anyway and my running style.
Glad to hear that! My bank account would be in a coma if I had every shoe on the market 😂
@@joshuaxruns to be fair he/she said "every racing shoe" and not every running shoe😁
That’s still in the 1000’s lol considering they average well above $200 each
Are u a forefoot?
Just ordered the Paris as I was able to get a hold of it.
Nice!
Just ordered shoes looking forward to it.
Hope you enjoy them!

Glad to hear you are enjoying them! And I think I’m still an alphfly fan for the full as well.
It’s a fantastic shoe. Mine is at 135 miles and the outsole wore out a bit so midsole is exposed on some area. Still feels great tho!
Outsole seems to be the weakest point of the shoe for longevity. Still good, but may wear down quicker than the midsole.
How is the bounce/pop at 135 miles?
@@keithclayton1271 its still there, i think i can get another race out of it.
@@AndrewCho730 Thanks for responding. I'm glad they're holding up 😀

Glad to hear the edge is working for you. I’m tempted to try the edge but am worried I won’t like it as much as the sky.

@@theghostofpcs2391 agreed! There’s always fomo on race day because I usually don’t have the newest shoe 😂
Glad to hear that; excellent review overall; i got them in box for Chicago for 3:10:00 attempt (3:17:26 pb) maybe to run “just” taper in them?
Nice! I would suggest at least 1 run in them to get a feeling for the shoe. Good luck in Chicago!
Thank you
@markoljustina how was Chicago experience

Would you prefer metaspeed sky paris over AF 3’s on a hilly course like the NYC marathon?

Do u think these will work on grass like cross country? I’m not specifically using them for xc tho, I’m getting a pair Friday
I don’t think they would be good for xc. You would need better traction and these won’t provide it unfortunately.
Question. If someone’s blocking the door can you just climb over the wall?
Haha nope. There’s a metal I-beam the back wall is flush with.

Is it typical Asics narrow fit? It's hard to find "race day" shoes for Wider feet like me.
It's not a very wide shoe. Very narrow through the mid foot and heel.
I am gonna run Berlin Marathon in them, the shoes were used in Olympics marathon by the runners.
Nice! Good luck in Berlin!
How long can the shoe last? 100 miles? 200 miles?
Mine are currently at 120 miles and will probably make it to 200 miles before I consider retiring them completely.
How much did these improve your pb?
My PB improved by 3 minutes but I don't think it was the shoes. It was really my training that lead to the improved half time.
What’s your normal shoe size?
US 10.5
Does this shoe size shorter?
The shoe for TTS for me.
