The fact that the RX 470 has an 8GB variant and the 4060 is out here chilling with the same is crazy to me
Edit: everyone saying VRAM don’t matter, it kinda does for 2023, and also it’s just crazy that the rx470 had 8gb in the first place I’m not saying it makes it any better
24GB VRAM cards like 4090 and 7900 xtx will probably end up the same as RX 470
those cards were intended to be future proof for 4K

Tbh these type of videos is the most entertaining I like to see the minimum requirements of different games
Most of the people in this hobby are obsessed with the high end stuff but in a way I find it even more impressive what you can do on a strict budget.. managing to put together a system of used hardware that still kicks ass and can play some intense games competently. I built a PC for my friend with used parts and its so satisfying watching as he's playing Gotham Knights right now and the hardware is still killing it.

While I don’t use old stuff for modern gaming I still enjoy this channel because I’m always into learning more about computer hardware and I’ve often used what I’ve learned from this channel when people have asked me about their older hardware and if it’s worth getting a certain used graphics card and such. Not everyone is going to have the latest hardware and I always like to help out people on forums that have older stuff to be able to enjoy newer games without just telling them to spend 2000 bucks on a new PC.
Don't need to spend anywhere near 2000 for a great new gaming pc actually.
RTX 3060 12gb with a 12100f or similar would be great still. and not cost anywhere near that much! under 1000k even.

It's really good that you watch this kind of stuff too. More PC gamers should be aware of what actually is capable at the lower end. I see lots of cases on like Reddit, where someone will be trying to buy a used CPU from a couple generations ago and people will tell them it's going to be garbage now. But it's just not true lol, I still have a 10th gen i5 and haven't found a game yet that it can't play well. Always annoying to see bad information out there.
I wish locking framerates to smooth out frametimes was more common knowledge. It's one of the only things you can do to help a cpu bottleneck and it can even help a gpu bottleneck in some games and some situations like thermal throttling. Definitely something I wish I knew when I was using a pentium g4400.

Amazing video👍👍👍 I would appreciate a bonus part for these videos where you remove the bottlenecks and establish more accurate recommended system requirements, for example an i7 4770 plus the GTX 1060 would've been a great idea for a 1-2 minute bounus part.

I had the i5-4670k for a good few years, only replacing it with a new PC last year. It still blows me away at just how much of a workhorse that CPU is, whatever it cant handle with features it just powers through with pure brute force. Like fine, its pegged at nearly 100% here but for a CPU that old to still be able to handle a relatively brand new game still impresses me

although this one with Minimum using i3 4160 & Recommended using i5 4670 it left me wondering how much better an upgrade to an i7-4770 with the 1060 would have been 🤔???

Instead of using RTSS you should cap using the in game half refresh rate vsync or at a driver level as RTSS almost always reports a "smooth" frame time graph but if you lock it like i mentioned you'll see the real frame times(although most games have a broken half refresh rate vsync but this one has a proper one )
Wow, that's legendary. I did not think the i3 4th gen had any life left in it.. I have a few left over parts, maybe I'll try to build a low end gaming pc (i5 4670, 16gb ddr3 ram, and a 2tb hdd is what I have hangin around). If I get a few more parts, I should be able to build a true low end gaming pc

I think these requirements would be better suited:
Minimum: i5 4670, GTX 960 4GB or equivelant, 12GB RAM
Recommended: i7 6700, GTX 1060 6GB or equivelant, 16GB RAM
It would be interresting to see if Frame Generation could games make playable with old CPU´s like i5 2-4th Gen, maybe something for a Video?
No i played and finished game on gt940m 4gb vram with 8gb ram i5 6th gen
Frame gen won't eliminate stutters and inconsistent frame pacing sadly
@@steph_on_yt Yeah, plus like upscaling while it may not be very noticiable at 4K it makes image quality much worse at lower Resolution & Detail settings.
While using Frame Generation may not be considered as bad for some as lowering the resolution either way for others more fps is not the be all of Better Gaming because Image Quality is more important and makes gaming better than an fps boost.

Can you do a video on the best way to optimise a system? Ik there are a lot out there but for things like quiet fans on a budget. I have a 5600x and a 3060 and it really gets loud sometimes in gaming but I’m not sure the best way to overclock it and which settings will give a great experience, instead of just putting everything on high/ultra and relying on V sync.
youre the reason I bought my RX 6600, beast of a GPU still to this day, I can record 1080p at 60/120 fps almost any game on V.High settings :D

i have noticed that IGTI is way better than other upscalers on low end systems
i have an gtx 750 4gb of vram with 16 gb of ram and an intel i3 10100f and the game runs very well! In some places it drops but at least i can play this gem!

Can you also try with optimized settings from BenchmarKing and Digital Foundry. Since all high settings is usually very unoptimal.

Always remember that one needs to stay possibly in between minimum to recommended settings of specs. If by any means you happen to have more than that, then you're good to go. You can also think of an upcoming GTA VI in a similar way, no need for some people to be panicking for no reason as there is always an option for medium or low graphic settings

if i was the player i would be choosing medium settings on performance mode on the recommended specs. you would definitely be able to pull 60fps all the time

The Jaguar APU is equivalent to a Q6600 so it only stands to reason that a much newer i3 would totally meet the minimum requirement.

I finished this game with an i3 2120 and rx 470 8 gb on medium settings with high textures and low post procesing and got 50-60 fps

This game has a damn nice optimization compared to most of recent open world titles.Pretty much the same graphics as the matrix UE5 demo btw and for sure better than Cyberbug during daytime
