HURRAY! More Hey Arnold! Despite some of the characters acting out of character in this one (you'll get to know which ones were and which ones weren't and which ones kind of were as you watch more), this is a great episode. It is a good introduction to their new teacher who will be with us for the remainder of the series (some episodes were originally aired out of order so there is still ONE Ms. Slovak episode after this - the teacher strike episode - but aside from that...). Honestly, as much as I'm drawn to this channel for your education insight, this show would be one I'd be 1000% on board with watching you react to every single episode. It is such a brilliant show full of unique and interesting characters that you just won't find anywhere else. Just about everybody on this show has their own personality and their own story and their own emotion and their own everything and it all stays pretty consistent throughout. PS118 (their school) is a great setting in this show, but there are other great settings as well, including the most prominent setting of the show - the boarding house Arnold lives in (his grandparents run the place, his parents have been missing and presumed dead since Arnold was a toddler, you learn a lot about them and their story towards the end of the series and in some of the subsequent movies). But even the entire neighborhood they live in, the entire city they live in, is just so full of life and character. There is nothing else quite like Hey Arnold out there that I am aware of. It has always been one of my top favorites and there just isn't enough good things to be said about it. They even tackle some pretty serious issues in this show. It is just so great. Anyway, once again I have loved hearing your commentary and I look very much forward to more. Until next time, cheers!
Once again sir, another good reaction packed with some interesting facts on education. Those kids are a real handful. It would have been more realistic if they were punishment for practically chasing away not just one but two teachers. But, it is what it is. Looking forward to the next reaction
The most coordination I have experienced in messing with a teacher before wasn't anything to this degree, but it was something. It was a prank on the art teacher in my middle school, where all the students in a class simultaneously raised their hands, each having hand turkeys on them, the joke being that the teacher hates hand turkeys. To quote her directly, "They don't look like hands, nor like turkeys. The madness has to stop."
I always like the messages this show instilled on its young viewers. This episode, for example, being to be respectful to others, and the dangers of following a mob mentality. Hey Arnold had a lot going for it, back in the day. It came out when I was 10 and I remember watching the first few seasons and feeling a strong connection to them. Sure, some of the episodes are better than others but when it shines it really shines. The creators did a great job at creating the atmosphere of childhood. Growing up in the inner city, going to school, hanging out with friends, discovering who you are and what’s important to you.
I respect a principal who can have fun and give humble comments on kids' entertainment. Excellent content sir. I enjoy hearing a little dose of reality on cartoons from my time!
I’ve never seen the desks laid out in circle format. Some layouts I have seen, though, are the big rows like at the beginning, big rows split down the middle (often along the length of the classroom from the door to the whiteboard if they’re on opposite sides), four desks in a square, trapezoidal desks put together to make a hexagonal or triangular table, and even the four desks in a square with a fifth desk on the end.
"I've never seen kids be hostile all together like that" - Same, actually, coming from the kids' side anyway. Especially because entire classrooms are usually not that close together. Arnold's class can be coordinated like that because they're all friends with each other to some degree, even if they argue with or even pick on each other. In real life, very few classmates are actually friends with each other and bother to coordinate as an entire unit.

When I went to community college to touch up my grades a bit, I noticed that the seating arrangement seemed to vary with the class and teacher. In math class, for example, we were all seated 2 and 2 at small tables, all facing the blackboard. For history, English and Swedish class, we were all seated like so l_l (as seen from above), with the blackboard "north" so to speak. I always wondered if that's because of what the teachers preferred, or if it was arranged like that in classes were students were encouraged to discuss among each other. (They were actually whiteboards, old habits die hard 😅)
My goodness this brings me back lol yes we did have a "military" lady come in to my high school for disciplinary reasons mostly cuz she was friends wkth the principal and we did have rather violent incidents (mostly school fights lol) so guess they just thought it was the only way to handle things. She wasnt that bad of a lady just wasnt well liked since i was a Senior by that point and we just thought the school was going overboard with disciplining the kids lol
In the 3rd grade my teacher was brand new to teaching. She quit after the first day. I have a very vivid memory of that first day. I remember approaching her to ask what time recess was and I heard her whisper under her breath “oh lord please help me.” Poor girl was young, probably early 20s and in way over her head. We never saw her again after that day. Hope she’s doing alright haha

You should react an episode of Hey Arnold where Arnold falls in love or has a crush on a teacher and then later ends up being at her house thinking it was a date idk what episode it’s called but it’s funny!?
Standing in the corner has been phased out. A common practice I remember from third and fourth grade is a teacher asking a student to sit at a secluded desk, or at one the teacher is normally at for interventions.
Unfortunately, I remember when the whole class was against the teachers. Happened in 6th grade for me. I guess I was the only one not in on the joke. Some teachers deserved it, but I was more angry when they wasted my time not teaching us anything. The classmates would do it to all the teachers except the math teacher, who was a bit of a people pleaser. 😅
The part where Harold ate the teacher's sandwich is hilarious because it reminded me of something. When I was in high school, I had a friend who one day during Lunch had to go into his teacher's classroom to finish school work. so he goes in with his lunch to finish his work, and aparentlly how the story goes, the teacher threw away his lunch so he can finish his work and at one point the teacher leaves him in the classroom alone to go make copies or something like that and another teacher comes in and brings ironically a sandwich form subway for that teacher and while that teacher was out making copies, my friend grabs the sandwich and starts eating it as "revenge" that the teacher threw his lunch away. Not only that but he also waited for the teacher to come back to eat that one last bite in front of the teacher to rub it in his face. My friend was suspended for that.
At one point my class actually did team up against a substitute teacher like that... maybe not quite as coordinated though, but we were all causing mayhem, using fake names and such.
Reminds me of the recess episode the substitute. Btw can you watch that episode next in honor of one of my former substitute teachers he died last Thursday.
In a way it's supposed to be a case of peer pressure which kids are a lot more prone to feel a part of their fellow classmates antics. Arnold would want to join in alongside his best friend Gerald and for Phoebe it's Helga which she is often a yes man to Helga's boss girl with their dynamic.
My vote is for the "Full Moon" episode of Hey Arnold, especially since it puts Arnold directly against the principal. And maybe "Curly Snaps" too just for pure WTF-ness.
I’m a little bit rusty on my military ranks, but as I understand it, Mr. Goose could not realistically be a “lieutenant major”. (At least in the Army) the lieutenant is above the major, and between them is the captain. Also, lieutenants are further divided into first and second lieutenants (the second lieutenant is the higher rank).
Hey, have you ever had to use a professional translator to talk to a student’s parent? My friend had to have one. She is learning English very fast and well. But there was an issue at her son’s school and she wanted to make sure she understood everything.
@@SchoolPrincipalReacts She had to get a professional because she didn’t trust her son to giver her the correct information and he is still learning English as well.
You should react to the episode “Full Moon” if you get the chance. The episode is about Harold, Stinky and Aid mooning Principal Wartz and the latter blames Arnold for witnessing it and gives him 4 weeks of detention
So Mr. Simmons was just waiting outside of the classroom, waiting for Arnold's cue? Assuming Principal Wartz somehow didn't see him when going to the classroom, why did he support the plan against Lt. Maj. Goose? I get that he wanted his old job back, but to allow another teacher to go through a similar experience? That's encouraging the students to do whatever they want, as well as a lack of empathy for a colleague. Now... Most of my acquaintances are against the idea of telling children to stand in a corner facing the wall, whether it's at school or at home. Not that long ago, a teacher that I know told me that she saw that situation happen, and then she said "What is this?! Are we in North Korea or something?!"
Miss Slovak was back because they sometimes screw up the order and mess with people this show is for 6 year olds so if you were a elementary school I'd see this makes sense but the kids who grew up with this are in their 30s
Hey have you seen the movie Fab Five The Texas Cheerleader Scandal. It’s based on a True story. It’s about 5 members of a cheerleading squad who got away with a bund of stuff because one of the girls’ moms was principal of the school. I think it would be a good movie for you to react to. It’s a little more adult (as in it’s not a kids show- it was on Lifetime)
I’m just surprised at Arnold, he usually wouldn’t act like this. And if you have a nice teacher, why would you not like them and want to get rid of them?
Hey. Have you reacted to the Big Moon yet? I felt that one sent a terrible message. That episode was a good chunk of why I had shame to tell on my bullies back in jr high.
5:44 this is is from the 90s kids were disrespectful like that nowadays they would just send them all to detention by as you watch Mr Simmons teaching methods wouldn't fly today calling kids special with air quotes being a pushover rarely giving discipline

There are a lot of hey arnold episodes id love to see you react too from helga on the couch to pigeon man.
4:00 the circle failed because only the popular or rich students get good treatment and they hide behind I didn't see you
11:22 Well obviously
More Hey Arnold episodes please
Reminds me of the recess episode the substitute. Btw can you watch that episode next in honor of one of my former substitute teachers he died last Thursday.
Yes I can. Sorry to hear that.
@@SchoolPrincipalReacts oh thank you and can I get a shoutout in the video too?
@@foxfanAly2005 I will try…. It may be a while before I can get to this video but it is on my list! 👍
@@SchoolPrincipalReacts okay I don't mind
Arnold is quite out of character during the first two thirds of the episode.
Yes indeed.
Phoebe, too
In a way it's supposed to be a case of peer pressure which kids are a lot more prone to feel a part of their fellow classmates antics. Arnold would want to join in alongside his best friend Gerald and for Phoebe it's Helga which she is often a yes man to Helga's boss girl with their dynamic.
At school he usually goes with the crowd
Yeah I've noticed that too throughout the series were sometimes arnold himself was guilty of his fair share of mocking someone
My vote is for the "Full Moon" episode of Hey Arnold, especially since it puts Arnold directly against the principal. And maybe "Curly Snaps" too just for pure WTF-ness.
Thanks.
I'm very surprised Arnold took part in the classroom chaos
I was a little surprised in this episode that Arnold was acting up. Usually he’s the good kid.
Request: Full House season 1 episode 3 The First Day Of School
Thanks
Please react to "Brother's Little Helper" is an episode where Barth uses medication to concentrate in class
ep:2 Season:11 The Simpsons
Got it!
Please do more episodes of "hey, Arnold"
Another good one is Student Teacher from the first episode of season 4
Thanks!
You should react to the hey arnold episode Teacher Strike
I plan to. Thanks! 👍
You GOTTA react to Hey Arnold: Curly Snaps
Thanks
You should see Hey Arnold "Full Moon" that's a pretty good episode to review if you haven't already.
Thanks 👍
I’m a little bit rusty on my military ranks, but as I understand it, Mr. Goose could not realistically be a “lieutenant major”. (At least in the Army) the lieutenant is above the major, and between them is the captain. Also, lieutenants are further divided into first and second lieutenants (the second lieutenant is the higher rank).
Lieutenant Major is not an actual position in any branch of the U.S. military. So you guessed right on that.
Yes 👍
Hey Brandon can you please react to more Disney's Recess
I can. Let me know if you have a recommended episode! 👍
@@SchoolPrincipalReacts can you react to the Recess episode The Experiment
@@ivanhernandez9579 I will add it to my list! 👍
Hey, have you ever had to use a professional translator to talk to a student’s parent? My friend had to have one. She is learning English very fast and well. But there was an issue at her son’s school and she wanted to make sure she understood everything.
Not a professional, but more often their own child!
Cool! It’s on the list! 😎👍
Good questions!
You should create a 2nd channel where you react to school episode of adult shows
Yeah, unfortunately I probably wouldn’t be able to do that. Good idea though.
@@SchoolPrincipalReacts alright.
Im getting a new homeroom teacher because my old one moved schools her name. Is Mrs Alley
Cool!
Hey Principal,
Have you ever seen when Aang goes to school? In the avatar the last air bender series?
I actually just filmed that one “the headband?”
One of my channel members recommended it. I haven’t edited yet.
@@SchoolPrincipalReacts yup, that’s the one! That’s a great one
Please more recess 😀
Thanks!
You should check out matilda (1996 vers ofc) The principal Mrs.Trunchbull sacred me so much as a child
Thanks
I’m just surprised at Arnold, he usually wouldn’t act like this. And if you have a nice teacher, why would you not like them and want to get rid of them?
Yes, I agree!
Yea, it’s one thing for Arnold to be humiliated and laughed by in front of everybody wearing bunny pajamas, but this….
Hey. Have you reacted to the Big Moon yet? I felt that one sent a terrible message. That episode was a good chunk of why I had shame to tell on my bullies back in jr high.
It is on the list! 😎👍
5:44 this is is from the 90s kids were disrespectful like that nowadays they would just send them all to detention by as you watch Mr Simmons teaching methods wouldn't fly today calling kids special with air quotes being a pushover rarely giving discipline
Jesus died for your sins on the cross and rose from the grave 3 days later. Follow him for the rest of your days and repent for your sins. Believe in him as your Lord and Savior and trust in the work he has already done on the cross.
