He showed great character in episodes like "Weighing Harold" (body image and what others think), "Harold vs Patty" (sexism, shame in "losing to a girl") and my personal favourite "Hey Harold" (voicing an unpopular opinion in defense of a friend). Helga's presence was probably more antagonistic, but we knew right from the beginning her reasons. She did develop a bit. Even though I am 21 I can see a huge difference in generations. For example me and my friends wouldn't just sit and watch The "new" shows of our time we sat and watched cartoons and films that our parents watched when they were kids I don't really see that happening any more which is very weird considering that those shows were huge and dominated pop culture for years yet if you asked an average kid if they had watched Ed, Edd and Eddy or looney toons or whatever most of them would say no. Probably multiple reasons for this I suppose and far more shows were put into syndication so we did get that variety of old and new and I don't see a lot of that when I flick through the channels every now and again. The animation style was unique and you could tell who the creators and artists were because of it now everything seems to be 3D digital animation which is fascinating but I believe over-used. I remember once I was flicking through channels and it was about 11pm and I saw Garfield was on so I thought I would get a little nostalgic. It wasn't the Garfield I remembered that too had succumb to 3D animation and that's not the only victim either, there's nothing wrong with a classic 2D cartoon. I like art and animation its fascinated me it from when I was a child and the variety drew my attention and I used to try and copy the different styles. Now when I sit and watch anything with my younger cousins I just find it brain numbing especially since they rarely put in those little bits of humour that fly over the kids heads to keep the adults entertained I know they still do it in films but there is a lack of it in kids compared with how they used to be.
Exactly what i was thinking, I watched things like Tom and Jerry, Popeye Show, Scooby Doo etc which my parents used to watch as well when they were kids. Those shows had a special kind of charm to them thats why they lasted for so long. But sadly all those shows got lost at the same time which kind shows how much the medium changed. New shows are kinda coming and going but not staying as memorable as older shows. Cartoons were meant to be a bit quirky and weird but they turned this medium too serious as well.
If you grew up in the 90's/early 2000's, there was a good mix of new and old cartoons being played on tv so many of us were exposed to the classics while having our own soon to be classics.
Ah, man. I was born in ‘94 and grew up with all of these shows, except I didn’t really watch Beavis and Butthead. This episode makes me feel old. The 90s and early 2000s were the best for cartoons! Rugrats, Hey Arnold, The Wild Thornberries, Rocket Power, The Angry Beavers, Doug, Rocko’s Modern Life, As Told By Ginger, CatDog, the first two seasons of Spongebob... I could go on, and those are just the ones from Nickelodeon. The live action shows like the original All That, Kenan and Kel, and The Amanda Show were amazing, too. Don’t even get me started on 90s/early 2000s Cartoon Network!
I’m not complaining, I’m certainly surprised you showed Beavis & ButtHead on Kids Reacts. I can’t say much, cause I was watching it when I was 8. I used to love the music commentating scenes, the most.
I didn't watch *any* of these in the 90s since I didn't have cable. My 90s experience was Beast Wars, Samurai Pizza Cats, Reboot, Kids WB shows like Batman TAS, Tiny Toons, Animaniacs and Freakazoid, One Saturday Morning shows like Doug, Recess and Pepper Ann, and Disney Afternoons like Darkwing Duck, Chip N Dale, Duck Tales and Goof Troop.
Damn, I know Sydney is perceptive for her age, but her getting that one Beavis & Butthead joke means she is ready for teens react and that makes me feel ooooold ;)
Maybe it’s just me, but with the exception of Sally , all these parents look too old to have grown up with 90’s cartoons. They look more like 80’s kids.
1990 was 30 years ago and 1980 was 40 years ago. All of those parents are 30-40 years old except Marco who's around 50. So all of them grew up with 90's cartoons except Marco.
My mum used to watch all those cartoons with us back then, she said she actually preferred them than the ones my older brothers grew up with in the 80s. Her favourite was recess. I’m sure she’d still watch it with me today.
How do they not know about Beavis and Butt-Head? I was born in 2004 and I watched re runs when I was a baby and watched it more in 2011 when it came back.
I don't care how kid friendly it is or not, but I'mma show my kids Tom & Jerry. My dad showed them to me and my sister when we were very young, so I'm gonna continue our mini tradition lol
These all took me back to the great memories of the 80's and 90's my son was born in 2000 and he knows almost all of the 80's cartoons The Thundercats, Ducktales, G.I JOE, Alvin And The Chipmunks, Muppet Babies, Garfield and Friends doing etc 😁😁😁
And if you didn’t have cable in the 90s you saw none of these cartoons. How about, Animaniacs, Duck tales, Tiny Toones, Captain Planet, King Arthur and the Knights of Justice, Bobby’s World, Life with Louie
It would be interesting to see what kids no thought of popular toys and fads of the 90's and even before. To see what their parents were doing for fun back in the day.
The animation now days is super streamlined, reusable assets and puppeted characters so everything has to be simplified. Really miss the liveliness of handdrawn animation

Yeah
If you grew up in the 90's/early 2000's, there was a good mix of new and old cartoons being played on tv so many of us were exposed to the classics while having our own soon to be classics.
They should watch Doug, Ed, Edd, and Eddy, Invader Zim, Courage The Cowardly Dog, and Angry Beavers
Who else couldn’t sleep and decided to watch this ?
my favorite 90's cartoons where Rocket power, Beavis and Butt-head , Futurama , and Recess
Please do kids react to the original Teen Titans. Many kids dont know the original Teen Titans
ok that's really sad
Look how they massacre my boy! 😭
Teen Titans Go make them look like absolute morons
You should react to some Hanna Barbera cartoons! (Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, Quick Draw McGraw, Top Cat, etc.)
I didn t know 2 of them ( modern life and an other one).
Kinda surprised to not see Recess here 😄
rocko and hey arnold are my absolute favorite cartoons from the 90s. they’re just plain great!
Do a reverse episode where the kids show their parents some of their favorite shows!
i like young lucas, he is curious with everything lol Rugrats and Hey Arnold still my fav
So all of them grew up with 90's cartoons except Marco.
they could've been teens during the 90s that's still considered as "growing up"
Some of them may have just aged 😂
My mum used to watch all those cartoons with us back then, she said she actually preferred them than the ones my older brothers grew up with in the 80s. Her favourite was recess. I’m sure she’d still watch it with me today.
im 17 and watch and love all these shows especially beavis and butthead
"i like real people"
Those aren't cartoons
I think he meant where the characters are humans and not antropomorphyc animals, bet he wouldn't like angry beavers.
5:51 I love how sophie is just looking at her mom and nodding her head like yes mommy ! whatever you say
Hey Arnold & Rugrats were my favorite 90s cartoons.
They should checkout 70’s and 80’s cartoons when Saturday cartoons really began!!
Most animation today is hand-drawn
@@herbiek4922 - with computer. These were done on paper.
Ian Mansfield I agree, it’s a sad life we live in 😞
@@chrisrj9871 Many are on drawn on paper too, for example Steven Universe was done on real paper and then transferred digitally for painting. Also, drawing is drawing, the hand still does it no matter the surface.
@@jennychenjen2151 Animation today is thriving ^^
Lucky to have grown up with these shows.
10:16 : Me agreeing with my friend after we had too much to drink.
These kids made me feel old, those shows were my childhood.
?? Batman the Animated Series, Swat Kats, Flinstones, Jetsons, Jonny Quest, Richie Rich, Gargoyles, Space Ghost, Plastic Man, The Centurions, Robotek, Captain Planet, Masters of the Universe, Tom and Jerry...... So many cartoons...my childhood...
Kids will never understandwhat 90s cartoons were like back in the day. Gems of my childhood before the internet took over. I miss it so much
I am surprised that Johnny Bravo or Dexter's Laboratory wasn't on this episode.
Arnold didn’t have a kilt, it was a plaid shirt sticking out from his sweater
He said he always thought arnorld had a kilt
Yeah, everyone thought he used a kilt until he admited It was just a long shirt
'This looks really old' ouch that hurt. I'm 23 feeling like a pensioner thanks to that comment lmao.
I miss 90s cartoons tbh cartoons today are so structured and clean rather than allowed to feel more free and rugged
The kid who said he and his mom should have those especial moments together, put all the wholesomeness in my heart.
Rocket Power, Invader Zim, Aaaahh Real Monsters, Johnny Bravo, Dexter’s Lab, and Ed Edd n Eddy should be in the next videos.
During this pandemic I've taken the time to introduce my kid to the classics because we dont have cable or internet but do have a DVD player. She just turned 7 and loves catdog, hey Arnold, rugrats, angry beavers, ahh real monsters, wild thornberries, and my absolute favorite ever the 90s sitcom show about dinosaurs called dinosaurs lol. She constantly sings "I'm a baby gotta love me, big purple eyes and very cuddly" and tells me she wants to hit her dad in the head with a frying pan hahaha.
Rocket power was my shit for a minute
Arnold didn't have a kilt, it was a plaid shirt under his blue shirt.
i was born in 03 and rugrats was one of my fav shows
Christ I'm old. (that was the year I graduated HS)
same except i’m 08
God, I miss 90s cartoons. The last good cartoon was Phineas and Ferb and that was in 2007, so it's been a LONG time since cartoons have been great (other than any incarnation of Scooby-Doo, because I will love that regardless of when it comes out)
Owl house on Disney is lit just like old cartoons.
Adventure Time, Regular Show and Gumball are top-tier cartoons as well, and they're fairly modern.
There have been many great new cartoons and I am a 90s kid. Adventure Time. Steven's Universe. GUMBALL. Day what you will about it but Teen Tiants Go does slap stick cartoon comedy extremely well. Rick and Morty. There are many more
Also Avatar TLA and Korra are both good. And one is a true classic and revolutionary for cartoon storytelling
Honestly, I grew up watching cartoons from the 90s and early 2000s (born on 1990) and I remember watching Rugrats, Hey Arnold, Ren and Stimpy (didn't get the jokes at the time), Wild Thornberries, Rocket Power, etc... I could never get into Phineas and Ferb, Adventure Time, or Gumball b/c it's shit that I'm not used to as a kid.
need to do one on disney cartoons like the little mermaid series, aladdin series, hercules series, rescue rangers, original ducktales, adventures of the gummi bears (gummi bear adventures?) all such great cartoons
Or fox kids, x men, Bobby's world, tiny toons, beetlejuice, the tick
@@notjustklownin9506 ugh yes I love all of those too (minus the tick)
1:54 Rugrats In Paris was actually the second movie. The original Rugrats movie was...The Rugrats Movie!
“Lets go.”
-Woman that stuffed coke in shirts.
As a 90s kid I will always love Hey Arnold. And I plan on showing my future children the show as well.
The bald dad is the best
