My son did not have his century mode turned on when he first got his car and someone backed into it so now he’s responsible for the repairs, not worth leaving your century mode off
I have a highland and two weeks after getting it someone backed into while parked. Sentry mode caught everything. Def second the above reply, def worth the extra battery usage. Charging a little longer today will save you tons of time/money debating insurance adjusters in the future.
there's a feature to have it turn off when you are parked in your garage.. i keep mine on 24/7 and have it turned off in my house because the only other person that can hit my car at my house is my wife lol. But seriously it doesnt use that much power.. youre at work for 8 hours and thats only 8 miles of range to protect you from thousands if something were to happen..
To me, the dominating factor is not the power draw, it's more the extreme sensitivity. If I park on the street in Denmark I will often get about 1 clip per 2 minutes, mostly from pedestrians just walking within a feet past the car. That wouldn't be a problem if it was very quick to both review and delete the clips, but for me it's often been very slow, buggy and laggy. And I have a friend who was hit by small debris from a semi and Tesla's camera resolution just wasn't good enough, and it doesn't provide timestamps or travel speed on the video either. So even though Sentry Mode was a great unexpected addition to the car, it's still lacking compared to a 3rd party dashcam - on top of the power draw.
@@Muskar2 if you have hundreds of clips then you dont need to review them.. only review them if you notice something thats wrong with your car.. basically its there if you need it and you can ignore the clips if you dont need them.. it auto deletes old clips and replaces them with new ones
I was fortunate enough to drive one a week ago, and have a 2022 Model 3 for comparison. Extremely delighted to see the ride quality improvements. It would take me a while to learn to use the new directional signals, or no stalks on the steering column. The front end redesign with headlights looks great!
Got the refreshed M3 RWD in Dec and since then it has clocked 5500km. Its efficiency has been amazing with an average of 137wH/km. Simply the most efficient EV out there.
I ordered the new Model 3 in Oct 2023, without even taking a test drive. So convinced was I that this would be a fantastic car. I haven't been disappointed. The new Model 3 offers the best value for money at the moment. Keep delivering magic for your customers! ❤

@@nielsvandenkieboom5034 The suspension is supposed to be a lot softer. But from what I saw in a couple of videos was a car that bounced and rocked on bumps. The suspension should absorb the impacts and not transmit them to the chassis.
I just got one here in California and its amazing! I got the white with the nova wheels and don't regret it. I usually prefer all black wheels but the new Nova design are definitely "non-basic" and look really nice in person!

Did a test drive yesterday and was indeed blown away, absoletly want one. No stalk for turn lights is outright dangerous in a country with mostly roundabouts like Norway making them unsuitable for driving lessons and it is confirmed to get a reduced security score because of it. Not a dealbraker, but in reality it will just result in me not using turn lights in situations where I should. Tesla vision also seems to have a lot of improvement potential and downsides to sensors. Overall the price, drive and ease of use puts it ahead of it's competitors for me, but still on the fence financially.
Awesome how they explain all those design and engineering features. No other companies do it in such an interesting and informal manner. In addition great advice / guidance for BMW, Audi, Mercedes 😅.

Test drove and then bought the refresh/redesign. These two aren’t salesmen: this is the best car you can buy for the money. Insane value, superb vehicle.
That's why I didn't buy the new model 3. Too many roundabouts everywhere here in Norway, and those buttons on the wheel became very cumbersome and distracting to use after a short while. It's only a good idea in the US and other places where they use intersections instead.
I truly appreciate their attempt to highlight the improvements and some of the statements are so underappreciated, perfect example is blind spot monitoring which is a real improved safety feature that I would never buy a new car now without it. Missing are enhanced suspension, quieter sound quality etc
Fascinating insight into the updated Model 3 from the guys that created it. I drive a BMW 128ti. A great car that I have enjoyed driving for three years. I tested the updated Model 3 in February. To be honest, I was shocked. My BMW felt slow, dull, uncomfortable and noisy as hell when I got back in it. The only thing it matched the Tesla on was interior build. And to even be saying that the BMW matched the Tesla is insane. And I only drove the RWD, not the dual motor. Anyway, I take delivery of my first EV, and first Tesla, next month. Model 3 RWD in blue metallic. The only thing that annoys me is how much more we pay for Teslas in the UK than in the US. My Tesla is costing $52k including sales tax.
Did a test drive on the new model 3 last week. I think the main thing missing is definitely a heads up display, it would make the life so much easier for the driver to easily see the speed while driving. All the rest is spot on!
Instead of a screen placed in an inconvenient position in the rear, how about adding a binnacle in front of the steering wheel. Head Up Display would be a bonus, but so would physical buttons and stalks. Tesla has gone too far with the minimalist interface.
Isn't there a regulation where you can't have turn signal on moving body pieces? Did they get rid of that rule? I believe the old turn signal was split because there has to be parts of the turn signal that on the stationary part of the car.
Ambient lighting is nice, hope a Model Y refresh isn't too far down the line. My preferred model, I like hatch/sportbacks, the second screen in back would be a winner for the kids.
I've had SR now for 1 month here in Finland, driven about 2500 km. Temperatures have been -30C (-22 Fahrenheit) and average below 0. Hands down the best car I've had (incl. two BMW, Mazda, Kia, Ford). No going back to ICE cars.
The car's handling is just amazing. I'm living in germany and I need to go up and down the hill, loaded with serpentines in all directions. This car is just on fcking rails! I kinda miss the top speed, but I understand the benefits that comes with it. It's just crazy dead silent. I love it! Right after I got it in the next 3 weeks I drove 4500 miles into it, and I can confirm the seats are amazing, how confortable they are! Great job Tesla team!!

Lars, Good to hear that Tesla review feed backs and plug holes. As a new Model 3 owner, I am awaiting to hear about Tesla addressing the blind spot in front of the front bumper. Reverse parking is no problem with high resolution rear view cameras. However, parking straight into a parking bay, cannot judge the distance to the front without camera view. Front view underneath the front bumper or front top view would make the parking much easier. Hope Tesla address this issue in the coming upgrades.

My 2019 Model 3 will average 160 miles using 32 kw which is about the same amount of energy as 1 gallon of gas! My best so far is 160 miles using 30 kw. Absolutely the most powerful and efficient car I have ever owned! Not to mention the regenerative braking is so powerful I hardly ever need to apply the friction brakes.
Great car overall❤ Only think I wish it would have more room for my feed under the Pedals and on the left side. On AP I need to stretch my legs sometimes. Also the space for the seat controls on the driver side is pretty tide to reach as soon the door is closed. Can't wait for the Model Y facelift, great work Tesla Team❤
Can you make the side repeater lamps (turn signals by the side cameras) always on with the parking lights, then flash off & on then the turn signal is activated? Acura had a sedan like this several years ago & it was safer & looked great.
All those little things like stalks and sensors that work in any situation? Sure there are great improvements, but to remove things that work better before having a real alternative is just to much cost cutting. Parking is harder without ultrasound sensors and driving in roundabouts is also harder without stalks. Tesla vision with an added low front camera "might" get us there in 5-10 years. I do appreciate the Acoustic improvements, as I work with that professionally. Also drive comfort has been improved.
I can't believe you didn't take this opportunity to make it a hatchback like the Y or the S so the rear glass lifts up with the trunk, that would actually make it practical.

In what temperatures? My 2018 Model 3 hits that efficiency daily in the summer. But in the winter, it goes down to ~180/190Wh/km

You need to add auto indicators/blinkers on roundabouts when navigating. It is awkward/dangerous to indicate roundabout exits manually on the wheel.

My 2019 Model 3 will average 160 miles using 32 kw which is about the same amount of energy as 1 gallon of gas! My best so far is 160 miles using 30 kw. Absolutely the most powerful and efficient car I have ever owned! Not to mention the regenerative braking is so powerful I hardly ever need to apply the friction brakes.
But keep those caliper pins lubricated!!

Also the space for the seat controls on the driver side is pretty tide to reach as soon the door is closed. Can't wait for the Model Y facelift, great work Tesla Team❤

Can you make the side repeater lamps (turn signals by the side cameras) always on with the parking lights, then flash off & on then the turn signal is activated? Acura had a sedan like this several years ago & it was safer & looked great.

Are you guys putting back the indicator stalk that doesn't change the location and orientation of it?
All those little things like stalks and sensors that work in any situation? Sure there are great improvements, but to remove things that work better before having a real alternative is just to much cost cutting. Parking is harder without ultrasound sensors and driving in roundabouts is also harder without stalks. Tesla vision with an added low front camera "might" get us there in 5-10 years. I do appreciate the Acoustic improvements, as I work with that professionally. Also drive comfort has been improved.

I can't believe you didn't take this opportunity to make it a hatchback like the Y or the S so the rear glass lifts up with the trunk, that would actually make it practical.
