- I bought cheap Range Rover P38 and my vision was to have a car that can tow almost anything. But Range was without a towing bar. This motivated me to buy an used towing bar and install it myself.

The bolts you were using in most areas are actually set screws. Bolts aren’t threaded along their total length like set screws are and threaded about two thirds their length. But your P38 will tow with a rolling resistance 35000kg although not legally of course. The most I’ve towed with mine was 36500kg but I believe they will tow a lot more than that.

I’ve just started fitting a tow bar to my 2002 P38, but I’m having the same problem with those 2 bolts, like you I expect I will be changing the brackets at the ends of the chassis legs.
Although I’m not looking forward to trying to get those bolts out without damaging the bumper.
Hopefully if it’s dry tomorrow I can have another go.
If the bolts are too rusty and you are not able to take them out, cut the bolts slowly with smallest cuting disc which you can attach on drill.Good luck

Quick question, did you weld the exhaust tip on the stock rear silencer ?
I have a set of exhaust tips and looking for inspiration on how to attach them, cut the bumper etc...
