RANGE ROVER P38 FULL TOWING BAR INSTALL
มุมมอง 24Kปีที่แล้ว
I bought cheap Range Rover P38 and my vision was to have a car that can tow almost anything. But Range was without a towing bar. This motivated me to buy an used towing bar and install it myself. I hope this detailed video of towing bar install helps you out. Thanks for watching ! #rangerover #p38 #towing Part numbers : SIDE BUMPER BRACKET - ANR 2500 REAR BUMPER MOUNTING BRACKET - ANR 2381 BOLT...

    Hi, I just watched you video, saw the 2 new mounts near to the tow ball but didn't see what you did with the 2 mounts you unclipped near the leading edge of the bumper. Is there a Part number do you know? Thank you. Alistair

    • @rusthunterz
      @rusthunterz หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Alistair, if I understood correctly, you're referring to the part from which I unclipped the bumper. There’s one on each side, and it would be the side bumper bracket. The part number for it is ANR 2500

    I bought my P38 4.0 a year ago really cheap with just 133K mls but in a "brick" state, not runner. Replaced a ton of faulty sensors, injectors, spark plugs, toasted speakers, leaked shocks, rusted exhaust, etc. It was already on coil springs so I added 2" lift. Now it is running ok, no check lights on the dash, no codes. Excellent and comfy offroad rig. But! Awful on freeways: 4.0 is seriously underpowered for its weight, a handling is worse than my huge RAM 3500, it requires constant trajectory corrections. Just a few hours of freeway driving becomes a hard work instead of a pleasure. I think I'll gift it to my grandson as a first car...

    I’ve just started fitting a tow bar to my 2002 P38, but I’m having the same problem with those 2 bolts, like you I expect I will be changing the brackets at the ends of the chassis legs. Although I’m not looking forward to trying to get those bolts out without damaging the bumper. Hopefully if it’s dry tomorrow I can have another go.

    • @rusthunterz
      @rusthunterz 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If the bolts are too rusty and you are not able to take them out, cut the bolts slowly with smallest cuting disc which you can attach on drill.Good luck

      Thank you ! I bought electric bit from eBay just from another P38 thats the easiest way. Part number for 7 pin socket should be YMZ500470

    nice car. i worked on 2000 4.6 vogue (thor) and it still has some work needing done. i got paused for 2 years after i was passenger in car wreck. im struggling with suspension. it had coils now. computer had a fit, engine was disassembled. gasket failing. i repaired engne but cant reset with snapon machine. i need to do it. its a lovely car. it has a top hat cylinder block with paperwork for it at £5000 price for block.

  • @ThePapers-say
    @ThePapers-say 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The bolts you were using in most areas are actually set screws. Bolts aren’t threaded along their total length like set screws are and threaded about two thirds their length. But your P38 will tow with a rolling resistance 35000kg although not legally of course. The most I’ve towed with mine was 36500kg but I believe they will tow a lot more than that. Great video too 👍

  • @ThePapers-say
    @ThePapers-say 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Brake pads are cheap , discs are cheap a decent exhaust is Cheap, tyres are very reasonable and a fuel pump is easily acquired and not that expensive. It’s the fuel economy that’s the expensive bit 😂

  • @ThePapers-say
    @ThePapers-say 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The suspension has two high modes, one you can select as you say and one you can’t. The one you can’t is automatically selected if the car feels it’s being grounded and then it will raise itself another two inches or so. It will return to the selectable high setting afterwards.

    Like you said great location of the fuel cap button , just seems like a logical place to place it rather than down below near the seat. A simple but functional dashboard that still looks solid . With no aircon probably better with the cloth seats , congrats on you RR such a classic design
