I just bought the same Marantz and payed $999 for a factory refurbished unit. Not a scratch, all accessories in the box and it works great. Came with a 5 year extended warranty,It replaced my Denon AVR 1910.
I bought one for $899, free shipping, no tax, and a 5-year warranty. The button on the side of the remote illuminates the buttons. The actual symbols illuminate white. Looks good. Pure Direct mode is the same as Direct mode. They turn off processing like tone, EQ, etc. The only difference is Pure Direct turns off the display on the front. Zone 2 can be for speakers in another room. Driving 2 channels, it is 140w per channel. I run a 2.1 and use bi-amp mode. This makes the back surround channels power the tweeters and the main channels the woofers. SRS is Sound Retrieval System. Auto mode plays back channels in the original source. ECO mode saves energy by reducing current draw. If you put it on Auto, it will increase to normal if the demand requires it. You should turn off speakers that you don't have connected. You can do this in settings. I guess he edited out the complete Audyssey setup. There are 8 mic positions to measure. I simply hold the mic. It isn't necessary to make the stand.
hi, what about support of Qobuz? if still present in last product line and no plan to solve in next coming SW releases, it would a non acceptable limitation for such a good and versatile product
The 'zone 2' RCA jacks are supposed to be as a (switchable) signal pre-amp output to another discrete amp. I think that it can be used for VU meters instead, as long Ofc as zone 2 is using the same music input as the main zone. In my older Onkyo receiver, zone 2 can conceptually run a different music input.
Its 100w @ 8ohms (2 channel driven), so going by Marantz's 70% guarantee its 70W @ 8ohms per channel (all channel driven). Still its good for a medium room set up!
You missed on anthem. By once cry once. Anthem ARC is worth while same as DIRAC level. Anthem twice gives 20 percent sale through dealers only. I have MRX1120 which I upgraded from Marantz. Post pandemic deals are coming back now. Anthem has more premium industrial design looks. That is subjective you will hate the small display on Marantz
Yeah was always curious about Anthem especially they are a Canadian company but the Marantz deal was hard to pass up and its harder to find Anthem deals
Strange that it's only when one gets to a high performance sounding AVR.. the pure direct option isn't optional (not included analogue, of course) When pressing the pure direct option while listening to Japanese AVR's, I never noticed any difference anyway! Certainly not worth shouting about

That's a great price as well for what you get

Hi Tong, thanks for your gr8 video.. Can you tell me what is the right speakers to this AVR and what you have for this demo ?
Sure I have a pair of Neat Acoustics Ministra hooked up for this demo

Nice review! Is the remote lighted? Thanks!
Don't know what that means
@aznsensation44 I'm just wondering if the remote is backlighted.. If it's the same remote included with the Cinema 50, it is backlit. 😀
It is lighted. The symbols illuminate white, not the background. A button on the right edge illuminates them. They turn off after 5 seconds.
