@foxloner We use mics to capture the sound as accurately as we can for what you would hear if you were in the room with the amp and hearing it through the speakers. The mics are usually plugged into a Digital Audio Workstation like Pro Tools or Record.
@TheMcLaini Hi. There is the FBV Express MkII and the FBV Shortboard MkII to choose from. For prices just check your local music store or favorite online retailer. Thanks!
@emmetts8 Hi, Yes it will work. There are just a few features that it does not have that the FBV Shortboard MkII has, such as Quick Loop functions and any USB functions. Thanks.
@Vzypen1 To use the Smart Harmony effect, first select Pitch Glide by turning the FX1 knob to the Pitch position. While the LCD displays the name Pitch Glide, turn the Presets knob to the right - Smart Harmony will replace it.
@rangeritto You can save the pitch glide and smart harmony effects to any or all of the 4 channels that will be made available to you from the amp via your FBV Express MkII. You will have the ability to say, switch from patch A with no Smart Harmony saved, to patch B WITH the Smart Harmony saved in mid song.
You can hook up any type of pedal to the front of the Spider IV including Boss pedals. You should find out what kind of gear this band plays through and see if there are specific amp models in the Spider that may get you close.
Depending on the amp you have, if you go to the Line6 site and visit the Foot Controllers page, there is a compatibility chart there, that will help you out. Thanks!
@Hertsman50 You should double check the ohm load on the 1912 before buying the Spider. The Spider IV HD 150 is an 8ohm STEREO amplifier meaning that both sides need to be connected to a cabinet. It looks like the 1912 is an 8ohm mono cabinet. If you absolutely want to go with the 1912 then you may want to consider the HD147 as it has more options as far as cab connectivity goes. The FBV MkI and MkII pedals will work with the HD147.
The guy doing the looping is State Shirt. He has videos here on youtube, check them out! Although Dave from Minus the Bear does use four Line 6 DL4 delay pedals! Check out our article on Minus the Bear on line6 site under artists.
@619alle Hi, Yes, you can see all the song presets at line6 (dot) com/spideriv75-120-150-hd150/tones.html but you also can connect your 75 up to download more tones at Line 6 Customtone. Thanks.
@lilpowner9 Yes. I will send you the link since I can't in the comments, but if you go to the Line6 Support forums there is a document on how to do it. Thanks.
@theARMYOFMETAL9 the Spider IV15 has 4 amp models and 6 smart FX. The Spider IV 30 has 12 amp models and 7 smart FX. The other Spider IV models have 16 amp models and 56 FX built in. So really, there are a ton of tonal possibilities with each model.
@sonnyboy1069 Hold the “A” button as you power the unit on, then press the presets encoder once. ***NOTE: If an FBV controller is connected to the Spider IV during the Factory Reset, the LCD screen on the FBV will go blank. To return the display, simply press a footswitch on the FBV or disconnect/reconnect the CAT5 cable to the FBV.
@CFCClarke You can see what the amp comes with here: line6 (dot) com/spideriv75-120-150-hd150/tones.html but you also can connect your 75 up to download more tones at Line 6 Customtone. Thanks.
In this video it shows that you can operate the QUICK LOOP with the FBV Shortboard MkII OR with the FBV Express MkII. BUT, I have the FBV Express and the Spider IV 75 as well, and I could´t find a way to operate the loop using this foot controler. I think this video did wrong with this information... Corect me if I'm wrong line6.
Hi, is it possible to operate the pitch glide with the pedal on the FBV Express MKII? I have been trying to do it with the FBV control software on the computer. Please help!
At 4:20 he uses the Smart Harmony thing, that you hear 2 tones through each other. I'm gonna buy the amp soon probably, but do i need a foot controller to get that Smart Harmony sound at 4:20, or can i just turn it on with the amp itself?
@ninjaslash55 This is possible. Activate the Pitch Glide effect, press the PRESETS button, using the 4 way switch, scroll down until you see FBV: DON'T CTRL and turn the PRESETS knob and set it to FBV: WAH - CTRL or VOL - CTRL.
@Psychoguy99 I'd suggest visiting the Line6 website and click on Community in the nav. There is a forum where people share their settings, if you post there you might get some people that have already discovered a good setting. Thanks.
How to you get the Loop on the spyder 4 ,12”x2 to work right without a pedal? I constantly get a pop noise at the end of the loop. I bought it new ,you can see it on my channel. I never used it because for some reason i cannot get pick or pinch harmonics to sing nicely with any sustain or chorus. It sounds dead! You’ll see on my chan I have dozens of nice metal guitars and all are the same! My 91’ 125w Crate DSP head and cab has no issues in that department so it’s not a string or guitar issue. For me my Line 6 Spyder IV has been nothing but a $550 Eye sore since i bought it! My small 8” line 6 sounds great which is why i bought the big one! If you can possibly send me the simple loop foot switch to try or possibly just help me figure out the issue or have any idea what i should do or try ,like resetting it or something then please let me know! I do know I don’t want to give up on Line 6! I will post a vid to our channel if you guys have any tips and or can send me the loop pedal or any pedal to try that’ll help the situation! BTW I too once upon a time was a Victory artist as well and played with both Hawthorne Heights and Aiden till i went to Interscope in 2014 as a studio musician working with Swizz Beats in Hip hop and rap groups. I really appreciate any help! Thanks! Crisis AKA LudeKrs
Digital modelling came of age with the latest series of processors - X3 series - newer Digitech and Zoom G series..... They are all capable of delivering 3D esque sounds. This amp looks sweet.
@MrWWEThemeSongs1 dont get it ive had 2 of the 15 watt small amps and i just got a 75watt 1 12 spider n thought maybe it would be better but it isnt the small 1s lose sound distortion mainly and this 1 i have now just went crazy volume went down then everything started goin down by octaves and then the lights go off then everything goes off and the lcd has like 3 or 4 black squares in it n it doesnt do anything i love the sound but iam 3 for 3 now and iam sticking with my gfx 65 crate
do they make those boards for the spider 3 hd150? because i have the spider 3 hd150 and it would really help switching between my clean and distortion presets while playing songs. and i personally like the spider 3's much better than the 4's, the 4's just sound too digital for me when i play them in guitarcenter. the 3's are great though!
@69Wooshy69 We don't have a document that calls out the patch locations, but you can see the full preset list here. line6 (dot) com /community/docs/DOC-1538 Thanks.
hey im just wondering.. i need a new amp, im either going to buy the spider III 15 or the spider IV 15 i know the spider III is good but now that theres a IV out its making me re-think, but theres no reviews of the IV out yet. which should i get?
@guitdude09 this is a very subjective question. I personally do not think the Spider amps sound muddy at all. My advice to you would be to visit your local dealer and hear one for yourself.
I'm just wondering. Is it possible to get the same tone on the Spider IV of the Spider III. ( insane mode). Or is the tone completely different between the 2 versions. Thanks
@IsoToXic28 Hi, Line 6 Support will definitely be able to help you out. Just go to the Line 6 website and at the top click on Support and you will find links to where you need to go. Thanks!
i got mine a week or 2 ago i like it well its a great amp its not as digital as everyone makes it out to be in my opinion you just turn 3 knobs on effects 16 amp models green and red i like it and i heard people say pedals suck on em wrong my crybaby sounded on my line 6 just like on my last amp which prob aint saying much but i also put my boss mega distortion 2 and i t sounds pretty good on it too butits pretty easy to mess with sounds pretty good one of my fav presets is for the love
@devey28 Hi, The Spider IV 15 and 30 does have less features than the Spider IV 75 and up. You can visit the Line6 website and go to line6 dot com /spideriv/compare.html to compare. Thanks.
@sampark17 Hi, I would suggest first checking out Customtone and if you can't find it there, then come on over to the Line 6 forums and see if others have suggestions. Thanks.
@axistec I think you are saying that you have the FBV Express MkII? If that is correct then there is a great post in our Line 6 Support Forums that can help you out. I will PM you the link, but for future readers, just visit our site and here is the rest of the link: /community/message/109891
@darknature79 Hi, Please reach out to Line 6 Support and they can troubleshoot with you on what might be going on. Just visit the Line6 website and click on the top navigation "Support" Thanks!
They have to do a little with volume, but not much, 20 or 30 watts are enough for home use unless you wanna bring em' to gigs, then that's another story.
The foot controller does not come with the amp, it is separate.
@Max45090 The FBV Shortboard MkII and FBV Express MkII are sold separately.
@jim4637 Hi, not sure what settings you are looking for, but you can visit the line 6 website and see the listing of amp and effect models. Thanks.
@3010smejo no. You can use Smart Harmony without the expression pedal.
@foxloner We use mics to capture the sound as accurately as we can for what you would hear if you were in the room with the amp and hearing it through the speakers. The mics are usually plugged into a Digital Audio Workstation like Pro Tools or Record.

@dued27 Yes, it does. Just hold Tap for a few seconds to get the tuner.
@1newbucketheadcover1 Hi, unfortunately we don't do tabs for the songs we put in the videos. Thanks
Thanks!
@Mirshahia The Insane models are slightly different. We (Line 6) feel that we have improved those models but they do sound a bit different.
@Hertsman50 You should double check the ohm load on the 1912 before buying the Spider. The Spider IV HD 150 is an 8ohm STEREO amplifier meaning that both sides need to be connected to a cabinet. The FBV MkI and MkII pedals will work with the HD147.
You'll need some sort of recording interface but you can run the direct out from the amp into that and record directly into GarageBand.
The guy doing the looping is State Shirt. He has videos here on youtube, check them out! Although Dave from Minus the Bear does use four Line 6 DL4 delay pedals! Check out our article on Minus the Bear on line6 site under artists.

@GuitarHeroGreece Hi, The FBV Shortboard MkII is a separate purchase.
@AngelOfChaos963 The FBV Shortboard and Express MkII pedal boards will work fine with your Spider III.
@Psychoguy99 If you look closely at 1:43 , you can see that there is a BYOB song preset, so yes.
Help!! I played with my settings and now my clean sounds so bad is there a way to reverse it to factory settings???
@mysterik234 Sorry but no. The Spider IV 75 does not have speaker output jacks on it.
@CFCClarke You can see what the amp comes with here: line6 (dot) com/spideriv75-120-150-hd150/tones.html but you also can connect your 75 up to download more tones at Line 6 Customtone. Thanks.

there great amps but i have one question can u hook up the 75 watt to a say like a
4x12 cab ?
Hi, is it possible to operate the pitch glide with the pedal on the FBV Express MKII?
I have been trying to do it with the FBV control software on the computer. Please help!
I was curious if the FBV Shortboard from my Spider III would work with the Spider IV?
You'll need an FBV foot controller to use the Smart Harmony effect.
you can turn off the gate on this amp. the line 6 spiders (:
would you really want to tho? i'd think it would help with the buzz and fuzz
Do I need the pedal for the smart harmony effect ??
@eduardozpn Yes. Acoustic electric guitars will work with the Spider.
At 4:20 he uses the Smart Harmony thing, that you hear 2 tones through each other.
I'm gonna buy the amp soon probably, but do i need a foot controller to get that Smart Harmony sound at 4:20, or can i just turn it on with the amp itself?
Why would you go for a high watt amp?
What does the Watts have to do with anything?
Howmany different sounds are built in?
@ninjaslash55 This is possible. Activate the Pitch Glide effect, press the PRESETS button, using the 4 way switch, scroll down until you see FBV: DON'T CTRL and turn the PRESETS knob and set it to FBV: WAH - CTRL or VOL - CTRL.

can you control the wah with the express pedal?

does the line 6 spider 4 120watt amp come with a built in tuner??
was thinking of buying the 15 watt version, would anyone recommend this amp as a first proper amp to buy?
Digital modelling came of age with the latest series of processors - X3 series - newer Digitech and Zoom G series.....
They are all capable of delivering 3D esque sounds. This amp looks sweet.
i am playing guitar 5 motnhs now.. i wanna play mostly metal and rock songs!is there any big difference between the iv15 and iv30 in this style?
can i plug this amp into a mac and use garage band to record my music?
@rockyanez1284 Not the 75 watt combo, no. That amp doesn't have a speaker output.
1 question , when u buy the amplifier , does there come a manual with the respective codes/numbers from each band or song ?
does the fbv shortboard come with the spider iv 75 watt amp or i have to buy it?
Hi, I'm getting a Spider IV 30w and I just want to know the weight of the amp, pleas answer me it would help me a lot.

@line6movies thank you for your quick reply!:) i have just bought my spider IV15 and i can say ot really rocks !:D
@CraigFitzpatrickTVz - 20.75"W x 19.25"H x 11"D - 36 lbs.
@PsychoKiid123x I'm sure he can play it perfectly well, but there are probably copyright issues.
@69Wooshy69 We don't have a document that calls out the patch locations, but you can see the full preset list here. line6 (dot) com /community/docs/DOC-1538 Thanks.
hey im just wondering..
i need a new amp, im either going to buy the spider III 15 or the spider IV 15

is it possible to use the fbv express of the spider 3?
great amps ;)
@guitdude09 this is a very subjective question. I personally do not think the Spider amps sound muddy at all. My advice to you would be to visit your local dealer and hear one for yourself.
i just bought the 30 it was affordable and is just like the 120 just cheaper and less fancier which is great.
this amp is really amazing.
I'm just wondering. Is it possible to get the same tone on the Spider IV of the Spider III. ( insane mode). Or is the tone completely different between the 2 versions.
Thanks
does any of these amps have a phaser?
hey man
is there any Avenegd Sevenfold settings :D

do they have a System Of a Down preset? cuz i could sure as hell use it
SilverGrey Mind love our Line 6 products. Dt 50, Helix Pod and more. Thanx for enabling us stuff, for inspiration of creation.
i was really bummed on how the spider 3 sounded too digital and now its still the same. VOX has good warmth with the option of high gain
@vcasted Hi, yes you can. If you download the advanced user guide at line6 (dot) com/support/manuals/spideriv75, section 5. Thanks.
i got mine a week or 2 ago i like it well its a great amp its not as digital as everyone makes it out to be in my opinion you just turn 3 knobs on effects 16 amp models green and red i like it and i heard people say pedals suck on em wrong my crybaby sounded on my line 6 just like on my last amp which prob aint saying much but i also put my boss mega distortion 2 and i t sounds pretty good on it too butits pretty easy to mess with sounds pretty good one of my fav presets is for the love

Boston- More than a feeling. Took me a minute lol.
cool price for a spider IV 15-watt $99!
and its a huge step up from my crappy squier SP-10
@line6movies I too am having this problem!
@axistec I think you are saying that you have the FBV Express MkII? If that is correct then there is a great post in our Line 6 Support Forums that can help you out. I will PM you the link, but for future readers, just visit our site and here is the rest of the link: /community/message/109891
I have the spider iii 150, im not sure i want to upgrade, they are pretty much the same, so why bother haha
@line6movies Ghehe, no problem :)
Just ordered a 75 watt ;)
Probably something from Tom Morello, in Rage against the Machine. He loves effects like that.
Yes. That is how it is intended to work.
You'll need a pedal in order to use the wah with this amp.
@ArianParsa Hi, The DT-Series might fit more for what you are looking for. line6 (dot) com/dt25 Thanks.
GNYAAAAAA I have a 30 but now that I know there's a crazy train preset I WANT A 75!!!!! Great amp though, I would definitely recomend it!
Gonna buy a Spider IV 30. It goes for like 1825 Swedish Kr that's like 221 dollars so it's really cheap.
@panosbarcelona7 Hi, You can see the differences at line6 (dot) com /spideriv/compare.html Thanks.
