  • Grooming a Cocker Spaniel | I use a #10 on the ears, both inside and outside the ears.
    I use the 10 on the eye corners and the flews.
    I use a 7f on the face and neck.
    On the back of the skull a #2 was used.
    Thinners were used on the crown.

    Looks great. Owning three cockers I love keep their coat short but never understand this crown on the top of the heads. Why?

      I cut mine down. Don't like all that hair on their head. Like it short.

    Hello, can you please tell me what brand and model is that clipper you're using? It looks perfectly slim and lightweight for my small hands !

    He is a good candidate for this video, and he is well behaved. A second person holding the camera would be ideal.

    I'm a Mobile Groomer and love all your videos. After 10+ years of grooming, I'm constantly learning new tips and tricks and have found your videos of different breeds extremely helpful🙂 Would love to spend a day grooming with you. That's if I ever get out to Canada lol. What do you use for those greasy Cocker coats?

    • @LoveofGrooming
      @LoveofGrooming  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad my videos are helpful. I use Chubb Bars for greasy coats, they work fabulous

    • @moisessalome7330
      @moisessalome7330 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've heard great things about Chubb bars and need to get some. I currently use corn starch for those greasy ears and parts of body where it's needed. Also use a degreasing shampoo. If you get a chance check out my Facebook page: moesfurfunmobilepetsalon. Thanks!

      Bruce Mccomb you commented this a year ago but I had the same question. After some google research I read a #2 comb is equivalent to a 4 blade

      Hi, these are nice clippers, they are less expensive than the Wahl brand. Not sure what price you are look at to spend but most clippers are over $100 to $200

    Is it American cocker spaniel

    • @LoveofGrooming
      @LoveofGrooming  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it's an American Cocker Spaniel

  • @elkiry
    @elkiry 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hahaha he looks so angry! My American Cocker has the same behavior, working against you in every way 😅 She’s going for another trim in a couple of days, we like to keep her fur short because she’s a real mud roller!
    We know it’s against the standard, but if you could make a video on how to keep a Cockers coat short and fresh in between trims that would be awesome! ❤️

    I think he did just fine.. if that's considered moving too much then I can imagine how groomers treat pups that really squirm around. 😕

    • @Flippityfloop44
      @Flippityfloop44 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Bombshell1126 cockers really know how to move in the most annoying ways. When groomers readjust a dog or move it's head a certain way, it's not to be mean it's for safety. When you have sharp blades anywhere around the eyes or face it can be dangerous if the dog moves too much. Ya gotta hold them still.

      @goldenretrievermom7945 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Luci you should try the dog up stand, google it. My Favorite Groomer uses it and it helps a LOT with the moving.
