Saoirse clearly only takes projects that appeal to her as an artist - often with zero box office appeal. It’s also important to note how often she chooses to work with female directors.
And that's why the industry is dead on its legs..... if you only take film roles that 12 people have enthusiasm in well thats a minimum of 12 viewers guaranteed then.... TO THE STARS BABY
@@marmiksaini Emma is too self conscious. Similar to Margot Robbie. Both of them feel like drama school students who are asking for approval after shedding tears in a scene. "Did you see that I cried just then?"
I saw this film, and if you have ever been in recovery or know someone who has been, it will move you. Everyone is right, Saoirse is amazing in this and this film is another standout performance for her filmography.
Hugely impactful. I went through an emotional rollercoaster watching it and I'm so glad my fiancée & I took the opportunity to see it at the Picturehouse. Works very well on the big screen, especially as things get chaotic and the sublime cinematography of the rural Scottish Isles. Moments of beauty and also devastatingly visceral.
As someone whose family comes fae Orkney, and has spent a great deal of time there, including at Papay, the isle on which this was filmed, I can tell you, this is worth seeing just for the scenery.
Having read the Outrun and been moved by honesty, authenticity and personal aspects of the story, I was apprehensive about seeing this adaptation. This film stays true to the book and Saoirse Ronan is fantastic in the lead. I'm glad they filmed in Pappy and the film is witness to some beautiful scenery. Whether it gets awards or not, the cast and crew deserve massive credit for telling an authentic story about addiction and not making it melodramatic or clichéd
Just saw it, beautifully made. An insight into how incredibly difficult addiction is (for all involved) and how bloody amazing anyone is who is managing to stay sober.
It upsets me that I will never be able to make a good pronunciation of Saoire's name. BUT I can see this actor is phenomenal at every part undertaken. This looks like one to watch!
A piece of cake - sheer sha | Seer - Sha is also fine! A consolation - Saoirse herself screws up the pronunciation - she claims it 'rhymes with inertia' - it certainly does not!
This was actually a good movie. I got to watch it a film festival. Too bad I didn't get to see her there. . . Watch it. You will like. Bitter sweet. As she is. . .
Nope she isnt...the older she gets the more obvious it gets ... Wandering around all stiff with a vaguely confused anxious look is not really acting in the traditional sense
Big big fan of Saoirse but I can’t see how this film is any different from other films of the same/similar plot whether on big screen or tv and there were many excellent films on this same storyline. I just feel it’s been covered thousand times.
#TheOutrun should make for a very interesting January-May2025! categories: best actress, cinematography, sound, soundtrack, costume/period pieces. great delivery of a 99% internal struggle.

I can't think of a better film actress under 40 than Saoirse. She is so effortless and fully gets under the skin of every one of her characters.
Emma Stone.
Saoirse is one of the best actresses of the last 10-20 years. But Emma is a little bit better. Saoirse is close though.

Yep, she's great and is my cousin.

I'd say Carey Mulligan is very close.

It wasn’t alcohol but drugs for me. Half of the film I was siting with constant tears running down my face. 10/10.

Saw it this afternoon. It was brilliant. I went to see the scenes of Orkney and was impressed with the movie as a whole

@@conortimlin3382 Thank you. I know I need to work on addressing this!
Saoirse - American is sur•shuh, British is seeuh•shuh.

It never gets easy, just less hard. What a great way to phrase staying sober

Saoirse is just amazing🥰
look like 2000's independent film style with blockbuster color grading

Why again a black boyfriend?
You seem vexed by it, like you’re bothered that interracial relationships are actually a thing?
Looks like shite
