Just a reminder to everyone that you don't have to look a certain way to enjoy Summer. There is so much pressure on us to have the perfect body and be perfectly shaven, and this is probably the most difficult season for many of us in terms of body image. I love the way Desi romanticises each season, and helps us find joy in the little moments. However, acceptance of your body and your life the way they are is equally important, and I hate the way society and social media puts so much pressure onto women to look a certain way. Your value is so much more than the way you look, and a woman's body is the least interesting thing about her. Go have fun! ❤️
This 🙌🏻💗 Summer is a time for doing things that make us happy and enjoying the weather despite what we think we “should” look or even feel like. Last summer I was really struggling with my mental health and I constantly was comparing myself to everyone having such a good time and being happy. If I would have just compared myself less and focused more on just accepting and nurturing myself, I would have had such a better time. Having fun should absolutely be top priority over everything else 💗

I really struggle with Summer. I get so down when the temperatures get super hot. I feel like summer has this expectation of always having to be great and for me it’s four months of anxiety. I really appreciate your videos and they help me to realize that it’s the little things. Instead of focusing on the snakes and bugs focusing on the birds and flowers, that sort of thing. Thank you for being such a light :) Two of my favorite movies for summer are Stand by Me and Indian Summer.

I struggle a lot with summer. Growing up, I was most prone to depression & anxiety in the summer because my home life wasn’t great & I was stuck at home. Your videos are always so calming & they bring me so much joy! I’m in a season of a lot of changes & difficulties going on in my life, but this video brought me so much comfort ❤️ and inspired me to try to enjoy summer. Usually I spend the whole summer saying “You know what’s great about this month?! It’s only _____ months until September!” I love fall so much, but maybe I can start loving summer too. Even if it’s because it’s the prequel to my favorite season ☀️
I have also experienced the most anxiety and panic attacks during the summer especially since graduating high school. Every summer was just a time of limbo where plans weren't settled for the fall and the future was uncertain if not outright bleak. 5+ years later summer has stayed that way, but I loved summer as a kid and want to find things I like about it again. Fall is also my favorite, so I like thinking of it as a prequel 😄

I loved this video. Last night, I finished reading “Where the Crawdads Sing”. My mom passed away in 2019, and before that she begged me to read it. I now know she so badly wanted to discuss it with me. Sadly, I just couldn’t read during that year. I was going through so much. Well, I sobbed through it. I absolutely loved it. I don’t know if you had read it. I know many people love this book. It is now on my favorite list. The movie comes out in July and Taylor Swift has a song on the soundtrack. This book will stay with me for a very long time for so so many reasons. Thank you for your beautiful videos!
Your story reminded me of my dad. "Where the Crawdads Sing" was the last book he read before he died. He told me to read it because he thought I would like it. It's been almost three years now and I still haven't read the book because up until this point it has been too painful. Maybe it will be healing to read it?

The fact your dad wanted you to read this, tells me he was so proud of you, and that the main character resonated with him, and her strength probably reminded him of you. I lost my dad when I was young. He was my everything! Even though I don’t know you, please know that my heart goes out to you. Read this beautiful book. Talk to your dad while you read it, and cry, cry, cry. And I can tell you something else, your dad was an amazing man because he picked up this book in the first place. Delia Owens shows her readers the definition of what a man should be and what he shouldn’t. There will be so many beautiful messages your dad will give you while you read this book. Keep in touch! He was very much a non-fiction (science, nature, history) reader but said he saw it on a book list and thought it sounded good. I'm obsessed with Dawson's Creek. It's all about 90's fashion, coastal vibes, sunsets, friendships & love. 🥰 The characters are comfort characters. It's just great! My mom was watching it back then and now I'm watching it, it's totally timeless, I bought all the dvd's from a garage sale just in case it's not on Netflix anymore one day. This year is my first year driving. I have a little green sage fiat 500 and it feels so vintage to drive! This makes me feel so happy this summer, I’m 37 and took a long while to get here driving. Every time I get in the car I feel so excited and play inspiring imaginative music and drive along the coast where I live. I live on a coastal island called the Isle of Wight in the uk. Queen Victoria used to live here and there is alot of Victorian era buildings here
I’d highly recommend the beautiful and uplifting ‘Enchanted April’ by Elizabeth Van Armin. It takes you back to Italy in the 1920’s with three women who are suffering from neglect, loveless relationships and a feeling of hopelessness. They then travel to a castle in Italy and life starts to transform. It surrounds me with the hope that I can open up to new possibilities, friendship and that the power of love can melt even the stoniest of hearts. Enjoy xx
My go-to feel good summer movie will always be Now and Then. It’s such an oldie but a goodie. Love the summer in the 70’s vibe and the cast is incredible! ☮️ 🌼🌈
My book recomendations for summer are "A Year in Provence" written by Peter Mayle. And "The Darling Buds of May" written by H E Bates. Both have TV miniseries as well. The 90s version of "The Darling Buds of May" starring David Jason, Pam Ferris and Catherine Zeta-Jones has pure Cottagecore vibes.
Living in Greece and having visited both the island where Mamma Mia is located and the Durrells, I can GUARANTEE you, they are as beautiful as they seem in the movies! If not even more! I would recommend two more tv series, both from Netflix. The first is Surviving Summer, set in Australia, filled with teenage kids surfing, always with a drama storyline underneath, and the second is one of my favourites, Outer Banks! Filled with mystery and hidden treasures, is about a teenager group, getting into trouble, living by the sea and hunting unreachable goals! SO good!
One of my favorite summer things is 4th of July celebration. When I was attending BYU in Provo I was dazzled by their fireworks display. Also hiking the mountains, putting your drinks in the freezing water and just enjoying nature and friends. Have you seen Enchanted April? It's a movie about a group of women renting out a villa in Italy, The scenery is amazing.

Every summer since I was a baby I go to Traverse City to visit my grandma and go to the Cherry Festival and take a picture on the Ferris wheel. It seems a little silly since I just turned 20, but every year I still love it.

Parent Trap is near and dear to my heart! I remember being obsessed when it came out and wanting to go to summer camp. I got to go a couple years later and went for years- camp was my life! My dad then died when I was at my first night of my fourth year at camp, and that was it for the rest of my teen years. Now I work as a riding instructor at a camp that’s at the real Camp Walden in Maine, and I worked at Camp Walden for a summer. The director of parent trap was a Waldenite!

Usually I spend the whole summer saying “You know what’s great about this month?! It’s only _____ months until September!” I love fall so much, but maybe I can start loving summer too. Even if it’s because it’s the prequel to my favorite season ☀️
I have also experienced the most anxiety and panic attacks during the summer especially since graduating high school. Every summer was just a time of limbo where plans weren't settled for the fall and the future was uncertain if not outright bleak. 5+ years later summer has stayed that way, but I loved summer as a kid and want to find things I like about it again. Fall is also my favorite, so I like thinking of it as a prequel 😄

I loved this video. Last night, I finished reading “Where the Crawdads Sing”. My mom passed away in 2019, and before that she begged me to read it. I now know she so badly wanted to discuss it with me. Sadly, I just couldn’t read during that year. I was going through so much. Well, I sobbed through it. I absolutely loved it. I don’t know if you had read it. I know many people love this book. It is now on my favorite list. The movie comes out in July and Taylor Swift has a song on the soundtrack. This book will stay with me for a very long time for so so many reasons. Thank you for your beautiful videos!

The fact your dad wanted you to read this, tells me he was so proud of you, and that the main character resonated with him, and her strength probably reminded him of you. I lost my dad when I was young. He was my everything! Even though I don’t know you, please know that my heart goes out to you. Read this beautiful book. Talk to your dad while you read it, and cry, cry, cry. And I can tell you something else, your dad was an amazing man because he picked up this book in the first place. Delia Owens shows her readers the definition of what a man should be and what he shouldn’t. There will be so many beautiful messages your dad will give you while you read this book. Keep in touch! Thank you for the kind words and taking the time to reply. Before it was too painful to read this book but I plan on getting to it this summer. Would live to read it before the movie comes out. It's funny because Where the Crawdads Sing is not a book my dad would typically pick up. He was very much a non-fiction (science, nature, history) reader but said he saw it on a book list and thought it sounded good. Anyway, thank you for giving me the nudge to pick it up and think about my dad while reading it. I know their will be tears! Sorry that you too have experienced the loss of a parent. It leaves such a hole in one's life.

I've struggled appreciating summer in the past as well. In the middle of July last year I moved from southern California to middle Ga to live with my long distance partner. I'm obsessed with Dawson's Creek. It's all about 90's fashion, coastal vibes, sunsets, friendships & love. 🥰 The characters are comfort characters. It's just great! My mom was watching it back then and now I'm watching it, it's totally timeless, I bought all the dvd's from a garage sale just in case it's not on Netflix anymore one day. This year is my first year driving. I have a little green sage fiat 500 and it feels so vintage to drive! This makes me feel so happy this summer, I’m 37 and took a long while to get here driving. Every time I get in the car I feel so excited and play inspiring imaginative music and drive along the coast where I live. I live on a coastal island called the Isle of Wight in the uk. Queen Victoria used to live here and there is alot of Victorian era buildings here
I’d highly recommend the beautiful and uplifting ‘Enchanted April’ by Elizabeth Van Armin. It takes you back to Italy in the 1920’s with three women who are suffering from neglect, loveless relationships and a feeling of hopelessness. They then travel to a castle in Italy and life starts to transform. It surrounds me with the hope that I can open up to new possibilities, friendship and that the power of love can melt even the stoniest of hearts. Enjoy xx

My book recomendations for summer are "A Year in Provence" written by Peter Mayle. And "The Darling Buds of May" written by H E Bates. Both have TV miniseries as well. The 90s version of "The Darling Buds of May" starring David Jason, Pam Ferris and Catherine Zeta-Jones has pure Cottagecore vibes.
Mamma Mia is such a good choice! Either the movie or the soundtrack, there is no way they won't make you smile :)

Living in Greece and having visited both the island where Mamma Mia is located and the Durrells, I can GUARANTEE you, they are as beautiful as they seem in the movies! If not even more! I would recommend two more tv series, both from Netflix. The first is Surviving Summer, set in Australia, filled with teenage kids surfing, always with a drama storyline underneath, and the second is one of my favourites, Outer Banks! Filled with mystery and hidden treasures, is about a teenager group, getting into trouble, living by the sea and hunting unreachable goals! SO good!
My little sister and I were OBSESSED with Aquamarine when I was in high school! I’m going to have to watch it again now!
One of my favorite summer things is 4th of July celebration. When I was attending BYU in Provo I was dazzled by their fireworks display. Also hiking the mountains, putting your drinks in the freezing water and just enjoying nature and friends.

I’ve started playing a bunch of instruments (I’m not particularly good at any of them), but the best summertime instrument is definitely my ukulele. Parent Trap is near and dear to my heart! I remember being obsessed when it came out and wanting to go to summer camp. I got to go a couple years later and went for years- camp was my life! My dad then died when I was at my first night of my fourth year at camp, and that was it for the rest of my teen years. Now I work as a riding instructor at a camp that’s at the real Camp Walden in Maine, and I worked at Camp Walden for a summer. The director of parent trap was a Waldenite!
