i also bought it, along with Bias FX 2 and Pedal (the Metal Pack) and i'm loving it so far! I made i killer (at least to my knowledge) souped up amp based on a 5150
Ola dude I’m extremely impressed with BIAS Amp 2, especially the Celestion speaker sims!! I just put out a Celestion shootout for Metal last week! They all sound awesome with the Triple Treadplate! 🤘
Brutal. We live in an amazing time for Amplification technology and it's just getting better. Plug ins can no longer be overlooked. IK or Positive Grid ? My heads going to explode.
Unfortunately the standard $100 version misses most of the features presented in the video. No IR loader, no Celestion cabs, no amp match... even many tonecloud presets are not accessible. As for the tone... I compared the Mesa Mark IIc preset with Mercuriall's ReAxis' same preset. And wow, it wasn't even close. Mercuriall wins by a mile... Ohh and just one more fun fact: since there is no IR loader in the standard version I decided to use my own IR loader with my impulses, put it next in the FX chain, no big deal... BUT: you cannot turn off BIAS cab simulation! Bummer! Want my money back I guess...
I have done enough testings and found Mercuriall, Amplitube Soldano, Mesa tripple rec, and one of the Amplitube 4amps (Marshall something...) I mix Darrell's para EQ and EQ, along with numerous other Mastering plug ins into Logic and get very impressive sounds that I don't think I need to buy anymore plugs. Though I've not tried your Satan plug in.
I have positive grid bias 1, it's fine. I think people get caught up on tones, but once you start recording a mix? That kind of goes out the window as you fight for sonic space. What you get by yourself may be like oh man this is so heavy and gnarly, but then you try to mix it and it's not....ya. People that mix a ton will know what I'm talking about. You basically have to use other instruments in the mix to bring the heaviness. Ola talks about this on one video (ie, using the bass guitar and drums to supplement the sound) and lowering gain vs raising gain to get it to stand out in the mix, that type of stuff. So ya, bias 1 is still perfectly fine and I use it all the time. I have presets set for a mix and once I have that for a typical genre it's way faster. I do miss just mic'ng a cab with an sm57 but it's just faster this way.
I can't hear improvement either because there's not much difference. gotta say though, positive grid has one of the most aggressive marketing teams in the business. even better than Steven 'deathstare' Slate, which is quite an achievement.
Good review! Im glad to hear the comment about the highs sounding better. We'll see if I buy it again though, maybe they have an upgrade plan in mind for us 1st owners.
I'm a bias amp 1 user. Frankly, the default high gain tones sound dull as they are in bias amp 1. I was expecting to hear it a step closer to the real high gain tone with details and clarities in the mids and highs, clearly it still doesn't offer it. I still prefer kemper or direct recording to this anyday, as the bias high gain tones just don't cut well in the mix. And when you boost eq to make it cut, it sounds hollow and unpleasant as the details in the frequencies were originally too weak.
I love the bias amp2, the level of options is like crazy but do I really need all the options? Not really it can be like option paralysis, for straight forward monster sound mercuriall is amazing bang for the buck, amplitube has an incomparable interface IMHO but bias and mercuriall sound better for metal, now for metal fortin nameless is the best great sound in 1 minute. Amp match does not really work well it's just a equalization analysis that you can do that with many other plugins in the signal chain and is nothing like the kemper profiling.
Love your tone Ola, But, it really needs a little Thud in the bottom end. It screams no doubt but it needs to have some bump to it too just to help it breath a little.
Holy crap! "For better or for awesome". I gotta get me some of this! Excellent demo bro. Tone matching from audio files?! Cha Ching! I'm sold. Just wowsers!👍
yeah, that ''''''''''''''''''''''''''''free version''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' u think sucks... but the other version with that alternate way to download is what we are waiting.
ı cant use bias fx with other audio software simultaneously because it blocks sound( for ex : TH-cam backing tracks ,apps like guitar pro app , mp3 tracks ( only there is one section you must load mp3 inside bias ) do you know how ı can handle ?thanks
Why I don't getting such tone with bias or amplitude, only with several free vst... Got active pickups and no battery charge problem, but it still sounds weak or muddy ((
I have Bias FX which is okay and thought I'd test this out; whether it's 7-string or 6-string I don't find (m)any of the options that usable so have asked for a refund. Think I'll stick to my other stuff (TH3, Reaxis, U530, JST, etc) and build up my library of IRs until I can afford something a bit more high-end. And to be honest, I feel like I'm reaching critical mass with too many options so end up spending more time trying to make a 99% good tone a 100% good tone, rather than the enjoyment that comes from making music!
Ola, you have input and output maxed on your original preset haha. Its so much louder than any other amp, almost triple the output so it goes nuts when you demo it haha.
I bought Bias for £100 a couple of years ago. I got so fed up with it I went and spent 2 grand on an axe fx and called it quits on searching for a solution......that’s my unbiased review. Guitar rig is pretty good. And I like 3sigma impulse responses.
Looking at these comments, I'm now very happy I didn't like nor buy any of the BIAS software. I thought I just sucked at getting good tones, and was one of the few that didn't like BIAS.
I just bought my BIAS Head and it's just wonderful, but I can't seem to get it to work with Cubase. Cubase just recognizes the BIAS_Amp2_64x.dll-file as an "effect" and even when I start it as an effect, it isn't connected to the BIAS Head... can somebody help me or make a fool-proof tutorial on how to get BIAS Amp working on Cubase?
I don’t play metal but the amps I tried were really tinny to my ears sadly. I love the look of Bias FX 2 but in the end I returned it. Compared to my AXE-FX, well, there was simply no comparison. Good company though.
Super useful video for me!! Just bought the Focusrite 2i4 and it came with the BIAS AMP2 Deal of my life!! I play guitar since ‘99, but this is the first time, when i record my stuff at home. If anyone has any advise, i would be happy to hear that. I play in dropped b with active EMG pickups.

I love the fact that Amplitube has a Mesa official collection but I also love the Bias amp matcher. Which one do u think will get me closer to that real Marv V tone? Thank you so much
recently ive been wondering "where did bias go?" everyone made videos about it and said they used it for so long and then no one talked about it, seems like it got so dead and not talked about that they made a 2nd version or finally upgraded it w/e
Honestly the plugin can be very underwhelming when you depend on presets, but if you follow along with the approach Ola is using in this video, and really dig into Amp Match, you will be hard pressed to find a more versatile solution for Amp modeling. Just a note: if you use Bias Amp 2, bear in mind that you basically have to create a preset for each guitar you use, and/or each pickup to get the best mileage out of it. (If, for example, you Amp Match with your bridge pickup, when you switch to neck it might become a horrible bassy mess. But if you amp match with each pickup separately, you can find a good balance) There's a learning curve but it rewards you if you bother to learn the system. It's more like Amplifier Synthesis, rather than just old fashioned Amplifier Modeling.
It’s sounds great but will it stand the test of time? Can I use it with Garage Band in the future with Garage Band Mohave, Catalina and beyond into the future, Or will my purchase die?
Hi Ola puss och kram . Question ! Because i am extremely short on cash shall i go for Reaper DAW that is pretty good and free and go after bias fx 2 and other bias fx products OR pay for a better DAW and get some free or cheap plugins for now to start at a good base and get bias later ? Keep in mind i am newdi and haven't learned any daw yet and i also need a good one but the most user friendly with a smooth learning curve. Best wishes fron Greken!
This was 100% paid, but tbh you can actually get some really good tones out of it, i've been messing around with it for a while and a lot of the tonecloud stuff is pretty good.
***submission for FAQ video Hi Ola How do you get your green screen work looking so clean, what lighting are you using and what software are you using for editing the video. I have shot a few green screen shots but it doesn’t look the cleanest, thanks and greetings from Maine USA
I think Amplitude 4 is much better. More user friendly. All you need is audio interface, amplitude 4, your guitar and you're good to go. Other software's like bias have Amps and effects separately and you need have another software to record. As a beginner I was recording in a just a few minutes with amplitude 4 with no hassles. Just my Scarlett solo, my phone and guitar and amplitude4. That's it and a video editing software(Filmora). Easiest setup for beginners, at least for me. I'm still struggling with how to use protools and Ableton.
Matthias Buesing absolutely my friend. Leeeeaaagues ahead. Imagine if Overloud wanked up a hype train like this. Everyone might actually have a decent amp sim vst
The sound is perfect! Which noise gate you use? i really need advice about this.. Am using Ezmix Metal Guitar Gods 3. et there's a lot of noise. please help me . Thanks
what happens when you already have bias 1? is there an upgrade (you pay less) or do you just have to buy everything new?? and what happens to the bias FX?
The amp capture tool in this is amazing. But for some reason my Ownhammer IRS sound like absolute shit with the new IR loader. Anyone have any issues with that?
Yes its with the amp match amps. My theory is the program eqs it that it fits with the used standard cab. When you put an ir later, the eq is messed up. Way to bright when i use them. But with the standard amps it sounds good.
how do you get such good tone, ive been trying ages to get a good tone but it all just sounds way too fuzzy and underwater? I download presets and it never sounds as good as it does on youtube.
Sorry Ola, but the amp match tone sounded kinda bad compared to the one you made yourself (just compare the tone at 8:20 with the one at 13:00). I don't understand why you would call it the ''absolute winner'' for this plug-in.
WHERE IS YOUR PRESETS ON TONE CLOUD FROM THIS VIDEO??? Bias 2 won’t show me any artist presets ??? ALSO I BOUGHT THE ELITE AND IT DIDN’T COME WITH THE MODERN CELESTIAN SPEAKERS?? HELP ANYONE?
I bought the bias fx pro version hoping to replace the 16 bit audio processing of my ancient line 6 POD (remember these) unfortunately I just went back to using the pod, for a couple of reasons, 1.) the software is buggy even out of its infancy stages, when they release an update (which to be fair, is quite often) they end up breaking something else forcing me to revert to a previous version.... one example the new update offers some graphical improvements on the appearance of the amps but i now have to click twice on everything to select it in the user interface... (before one click was enough. this is annoying)..... 2. I also experienced some glitch where the sound went bat shit, and created this awful siren noise through my headphones, my ears are ringing since then which is a couple of months later. Tinnitus and hearing damage are confirmed for this one occasion. 3. The sound (the most important part) - well it sounds like a really fancy eq. the output is way too low and starts clipping way to early. the original unprocessed guitar audio has a fullness and life to it that gets immediately sucked out once it goes through what ever is going with the bias processing. I would use it for clean sounds sometimes but other than that distortion is terrible. Conclusion for the money.... Cheaper and better alternatives are out there, myself at the moment I am interested in the Kazrogg stuff... (anyone can comment on this... give suggestion I would appreciate it, though the interface seems kind of daunting). And even the amplitube which I once thought was cheezy is starting to look appealing.
@Shockheadd45 Doubt what you like, am i supposed to give a shit ? hahaha Amplitube, Guitar Rig, Revalver , all better than PG software. I'm sorry i insulted your ego, hahaha you crybaby
I love how you use everything in METAL!!!

Ola dude I’m extremely impressed with BIAS Amp 2, especially the Celestion speaker sims!! I just put out a Celestion shootout for Metal last week! They all sound awesome with the Triple Treadplate! 🤘
Your demos always sound so good. If I downloaded the same vst, same presets it wouldn’t sound this good
Then you make something wrong. With my setup it sounds the same when i use the same or similar pickups

It would be interesting to hear the amp match with the exact same riff, and maybe even with the same guitar.
Man, your demo and Glenn Frickers demo are so wildly different. Like, night and day. Holy shit.
Both sound horrible. The difference is that Ola actually knows how to dial a tone so it sounds marginally better.
Daniel Narváez for a VST I think it sounds pretty solid for what it is.
I know all of this is subjective, but I'd recommend TH3 for the best value/money.
Not to mention Glenn can't play a guitar to save his life lol
Dude, you're so thorough and crack me the hell up haha
i love this positive grid concept, the custom tweak which is in real life it is not possible for some people or mostly
Dude you're a viking that froze in the ice and dethawed and brought nordic lute riffs to electric guitar. haha Love the video man

If you A/B them with the same presets, Bias 2 sounds muffled. But if you bypass the cab and use your own IRs, they are identical
same
Exactly! I have zero interest in making a strat sound like a LP! Isn't that why we always need 1 more guitar? lol!
Your "I love amp match song" reminded me of Rammstein. XD
Good review! Im glad to hear the comment about the highs sounding better. We'll see if I buy it again though, maybe they have an upgrade plan in mind for us 1st owners.
This strikes me as more quantity than quality, but it doesn't sound half bad. Think I'll stick with Amplitube 4, thanks for the great demo of this!
I’ve got my elite!!! Can’t wait to start using it today!!!!!
I'm a bias amp 1 user. Frankly, the default high gain tones sound dull as they are in bias amp 1. yeah i know what you mean. free version of bias amps works for me to record guitar and reamp it later.
It would be cool if you headed back and did a video on amp sims like guitar rig 5 or amplitube :)
ı cant use bias fx with other audio software simultaneously because it blocks sound( for ex : TH-cam backing tracks ,apps like guitar pro app , mp3 tracks ( only there is one section you must load mp3 inside bias ) do you know how ı can handle ?thanks

Too loud? No way, I downloaded that amp and it’s fine...I can’t hear what anyone says anymore but hey that’s rock and roll!
I hear a great battle between "shange" and "change" in this movie :D
Why I don't getting such tone with bias or amplitude, only with several free vst... Got active pickups and no battery charge problem, but it still sounds weak or muddy ((

Cool video👍🏻
Would u mind tell me your ranking of those amp sims below 🙇🏻♂️?
1.Apollo (Marshall, ENGL...etc)
2.ik amplitube
3.S-gear
4.Bias
Damn!! Is that a haunted riff he’s Playing at the beginning?
Thanks Ola. Sounds killer!
I don’t play metal but the amps I tried were really tinny to my ears sadly. I love the look of Bias FX 2 but in the end I returned it. Compared to my AXE-FX, well, there was simply no comparison. Good company though.
+1 for DT880s. Do you EQ them at all? I slightly boosted high-mids and very slightly cut the 8khz range.
Hey Ola, can I ask for tabs at the intro of the video? I really like that riff.
Hello Ola, Can you please tell me what is needed to connect the program?
Super useful video for me!! Just bought the Focusrite 2i4 and it came with the BIAS AMP2
Deal of my life!! I play guitar since ‘99, but this is the first time, when i record my stuff at home.
If anyone has any advise, i would be happy to hear that.
I play in dropped b with active EMG pickups.
Honestly, I like Amplitude 4 more than Postive Grid.
Myanmar Media Light the tools are different for everyone. The result is what matters.
Killer sound Ola!!
My wav audio was of 30 secs that i tried uploading for amp match but while uploading a popup appeared saying..audio must be longer than 3 secs..can anyone tell me why I am getting this..?
Hello Ola, I'ma big fun of John Petrucci Tones. I own a real Mark Vbut I want to buy a plug in in order to play in my room.
Now the big question is: Amplitube or BIAS? I love the fact that Amplitube has a Mesa official collection but I also love the Bias amp matcher. Which one do u think will get me closer to that real Marv V tone?
Thank you so much
I'm considering getting bias, but i cannot chose between bias Fx and Amp2
Awesome!
recently ive been wondering "where did bias go?" everyone made videos about it and said they used it for so long and then no one talked about it, seems like it got so dead and not talked about that they made a 2nd version or finally upgraded it w/e

There's a learning curve but it rewards you if you bother to learn the system. It's more like Amplifier Synthesis, rather than just old fashioned Amplifier Modeling.
I am facing a little delay using bias amo 2 with irig 2 and iphone 7. Is it normal? The processor is old for the app?
Will it be available for iOS devices....the tones and bias 2
Bias Amp 2 - Bias FX 2, I'll stick to Guitar Rig until they sort this shit out.
It’s sounds great but will it stand the test of time? Can I use it with Garage Band in the future with Garage Band Mohave, Catalina and beyond into the future, Or will my purchase die?
The free stuff is even kool, but which package gives you a good selection of tones?

Th-u now. Yes, its great, but the low end is awful. On my neck pick up bias fx sounds much clearer, while in th-u its completely muddy

what happens when you already have bias 1? is there an upgrade (you pay less) or do you just have to buy everything new?? and what happens to the bias FX?
seems nice, does it work with bass guitar as well?
Is this stand alone or do you open it as a plug in in a recording software?
It’s stand alone as well
I can’t find these on the Tone Cloud.
Is there anywhere we can buy/download the impulse responses you’ve made Ola?
Hi Ola! Have you ever tried TH3 from overloud? I personally think it sounded better than BIAS 1 but id really love to hear your opinion. Cheers!

Matthijs van den Hoven he was paid and it's obvious. Another popular guy I follow just happened to release a similar review yesterday
K. Hall glenn?
Tone matched was a track eq'ed for a song to fit in a mix. VS the one he made himself just to sound awesome.
My experience on Bias AMP 2, I downloaded a Kerry King sample for Marshall, the AMP MATCH did a fucking awesome job, I was mind blown on the match !
If he was paid and didn't disclose it then hes violating FCC rules and could be fined. Does it say anywhere that he was sponsored? Did I miss it?
I'm dying!😂 This guy just said The Matrix
So, Bias Amp is the Subway of the modeler ? ^^

Please try to get dimebags tone with this
Damn Neural DSP fortins blowing this out of the water
Does that apollo interface improve the way your tone sounds?
I've tried PG guitar software, its ok but it won't make me swap from ikm amplitube...
@Shockheadd45 Doubt what you like, am i supposed to give a shit ? hahaha Amplitube, Guitar Rig, Revalver , all better than PG software. I'm sorry i insulted your ego, hahaha you crybaby
Hey Ola, is the Metal, Blues and Higain Stuff included in the 3 Versions of Bias Amp or is it all extra Stuff to buy?
Is it possible to defeat the preamp stage??
Say if I wanted to run my amps fx send to interface then Bias for power tube emulations etc
You can remove any part of the signal chain.
how come I buy the original bias and then they release a new one
How about the bass segment?
Hey Ola, do you have have any suggestion for drum programs on mac rather than ezdrummer?

Ola has any one ever told you that you sound like Swisgar Swigelf from the show Metalocalypse? It’s great dude haha. Great tone man!!
