longwalkinthewoods I would say it’s the other way around, the nameless is based off a modded Marshall head, and the Natas is Mike’s(Fortin) own modern high gain head design, where you’re given more options to shape the gain structure. This is my understanding from the videos and reading I’ve done about Fortin, and could be completely wrong lol.
Absolutely love your work on the Nameless and the Darkglass v2 plugins. Some of the best cab sections I've ever heard. Is the NTS the same as the Nameless do you know? Or a different cab? Getting a second guitar cab section from you would definitely be enough to get me to preorder
After trying out 5 different neural dsp plugins, I finally made the decision to buy this one! (after finding a sweet discount code). This thing screams through four 15's.. definitely in my top 3 favorite plugins.
Anything in the works to have coffee with one of the boys from Meshuggah? Would love to see Fredrick on here or Martin, or both even? Double the shuggah!!!
I remember when i first started recording from home and your options were pretty much AxFx, Pod HD's or the pod farm stuff. and if you were on a budget the pod farm was horrible for heavy tones. or tones period. It's amazing how far a long we've come with plugins.
sounded great. I noticed with "most" metal plugins, the noise gates never really work right..they either choke your sound too much or there's a buzz/hum. These guys nail it!! \,,,/
Thing I like most about Ola's videos, is that he tests gear with a good range of dynamic riffs. 99% of all plugin example videos are just Djent on a 7 string, so it can hide how shit the plug in actually sounds. They usually sound like bees as soon as a note if held for more than half a second, but I trialed this and it sounds unreal.
It's Friday night, enjoying some coffee and Ola shreds. Monstrous plug in video. I can't stop thinking about a Solar ML. Triple humbuckers, triple p90s, maybe an obnoxious set of triple coil humbuckers. I commented similar things in another video. Fans keep talking about a Solar ML. Perhaps it's just crazy talk. Ace took on the Budokan and Dime was a massive fan of his. Black tootH!!
Literally the one thing i don't like about that, is that the dull grey color of the Grind pedal makes it look like it's a disabled button compared to the other two white pedals next to it. Like, I would naturally not click on that pedal because I thought it was an unavailable option.
If you listen to the Fortin nameless Suite demo with Ola you can definitely hear a difference with this natas plug-in. This plug-in is much more tight and versatile in the many distortions it has! And nice cleans too...
Your Black Is My White...I get FIRED UP every time I listen to that song. Ola, you're threatening to break my bank account, man. Awesome demo, amazing plugin!
this is a hella old post so not sure youll read this but,,, dude you and HIMSA got me back into playing guitar!!! thank you I forgot how much i enjoy it!!!
Dude, me too. I bought this plugin, Archtype Rabea, and Darkglass all at the same time when it was 50% off. People think my recordings are done in a professional studio now. but it's just my fookin' bedroom dude. hahah These plugins are Absolutely mind-blowing how good they sound.
Both the NTS and Nameless sound UNREAL, but so far the differences I've observed are the NTS can get a slightly more old school (chug instead of djent) and balanced tone without as much twangy, modern high end, while the Nameless has that modern high end and presence perfect for lower tunings/djent? I'm pretty sure both can be tweaked to be close to each other, I'm just trying to figure out the key differences between the two. Also, with the addition of a clean channel, the NTS should be more versatile as well, I assume.
Having tried both, I have to say that they are Very different sounding and CANNOT be tweaked to sound similar. What you said in your first paragraph was spot on, to the point where the Nameless is almost unusable for Standard tuning because of how harsh it sounds. Not saying it's a bad amp, it's not, but it just doesn't work at all for non-dropped tunings. It's like it was made with one type of Metal sound in mind. The NTS is much more flexible in that aspect.
Just bought it. I already have Nolly, Parallax (and bunch of other guitar plugins), but i simply had to buy Fortin NTS. Neural DSP have -50% OFF crazy sale right now, so if you wanted to buy it, but thought it was a bit too expensive for you - GO FOR IT NOW! And i mean right NOW, since the sale ends in an hour.
This seems like the underdog in the neural line up that people kinda sleep on. I tried this with both the slo and granophyre recently for the sale and ended up getting the slo ultimately but sometimes i wonder if i should have got this instead cause after i spent a bit more time with it i think i was liking the tones i got even more than the slo. The girth grind knobs really are a game changer and almost seems like you can get it to sound like an approximation of any amp you want with enough tweaking. Also with most plugins i feel like its kinda challenging to find that right balance of saturation and tightness but those knobs make it really quick and easy
Sounds extremely similar to the Fortin Nameless to me. I guess I'd have to A/B them to distinguish a difference. Would be nice if they would add the pedals that come with this one to the Fortin Nameless since we paid the same price for the Nameless, but we didn't get the additional pedals with it...
It's incredible how far virtual amps have come. 10 years back I never would have taught virtual amps would sound great someday. Let's see what's going on 5 years from now :)
Honestly, the fact that the NTS seemingly can do really raw and varied distorted tones as WELL as great cleans is what attracts me, and I bought the Nameless Suite. I'll use that for specific things and 7- and 8-string songs, since I feel it really brings out the low end growl in extended range. I really like the overdriven plexi-type tones in the Nameless Suite as well. It just can't do cleans without very carefully dynamic playing and rolling off a lot of the volume on the pickups (which really kills the dynamic range, imo).
I actually own a satan 120w... And when i see comments like yours, i feel like The luckiest guy in the world... And I bought it secondhand for about 900$ with a 4x12 Randall can included... I drove from one country to another by car to get it.
Bought the nameless thinking it would be similar enough to keep me from buying the nts. I'm thinking I was wrong. Lol. Seriously considering preordering this weekend.
Hey olla.......were watching it............heard loud and clear in Land o' lakes,WI.usa.....p.s. awesome guitar dude...😶...winter is for playing guitar...later,
Dang, for price. Nice simple pretty solid sound. I'd probably EQ the vary high (20K all the way down, 10k middle? Put one like 2.4K up some. Punch certain mids, others? Bass 20 down, 40 maybe up some or 80Hz. I'd find it lol.) But sweet. Then semi scoop a second track. 4 split each side. Scoop sounds lost in mix, but it's there.
Sound killer! And yet... Why couldn't they include a TUNER? Or maybe update the versions with one, since competitors have that for the same price more or less.
Hey Ola. I just purchased an A2.6 Baritone for my son today. I searched for information for a hard case and didn't see any. Before I purchase a case from Sweetwater, I would like to verify that the guitar does not come in a hard case. Thanks for all you do. We're huge fans. Also, the Contact option on olaenglund.com does not work.
Hola Ola. Thoughts on Audio Assault's Grind Machine plugin? Not sure if you've covered it in a previous video but I'm curious to see what you think. Love the videos hombre
Obvious ABBA influence in this tone, very inspiring
ABBA is ABBA backwards. It's for people who don't dare to say ABBA. Like upside down cross but it's upside up.
It has dancing queen all over it... A must for the wedding muso in drop C.
@@nobody6661981 Nice lmao
..don't forget Max Martin and every pop song written in the last 25 years too lol
🤣
"It's like an upside down cross, but upside... Up."
Ola the philosopher
Fortin Dog
LOL
He shoulda said bottomside uperds
Man these plugins are just sounding awesome now! I used the Neural DSP Darkglass for Bass and that was insane! Need to check this out! 🔥🤘🎸
Hit us up. ;)
What would you say is the main difference between this amp and the Nameless? They both sound impressive...Nameless sounds a bit more modern tonally?
longwalkinthewoods I would say it’s the other way around, the nameless is based off a modded Marshall head, and the Natas is Mike’s(Fortin) own modern high gain head design, where you’re given more options to shape the gain structure. Thank you again Ola for praising the cabinet section! When a Swede compliments a Finn... I don't know what happens since it's the first time. :D
Absolutely love your work on the Nameless and the Darkglass v2 plugins. Some of the best cab sections I've ever heard.
Is the NTS the same as the Nameless do you know? Or a different cab?
Getting a second guitar cab section from you would definitely be enough to get me to preorder
Can we know what Cabs were used on the NTS??
9:14 seriously one of my favorite metal riffs. kudos for that Ola. This plugin sounds great as well!
4:13 The Killswitch is actually an Engage.
Ah Ah ! nice
After trying out 5 different neural dsp plugins, I finally made the decision to buy this one! (after finding a sweet discount code). This thing screams through four 15's.. definitely in my top 3 favorite plugins.

Old doesn't put Shuggah in his coffee so doubtful....
I cannot love any youtuber more than I love Ola. Best philosopher and personality online!
Would be cool to see a Nameless vs Natas demo to hear the difference
The more an amp sim can squeeze in, the better- it’s easier on your daw. I love it when they do pedals, amp and cab- very convenient
I remember when i first started recording from home and your options were pretty much AxFx, Pod HD's or the pod farm stuff. and if you were on a budget the pod farm was horrible for heavy tones. or tones period. It's amazing how far a long we've come with plugins.
Easily one of the best plugins I've ever heard. In one word: Natural.
Ola, your Merch is Awesome. A littlebit over 24 Hours and my new Shirt arrived. +90% Coolness 😋
We are living in awesome times....hell yeah!!!
That drop C tone was the sickest i have ever heard. I have found my favorite new tuning.
Trying out the new Fortin NTS plugin. Is it just as good as the Nameless? YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?

Yes, did this for a while with nameless lol. But the overdrive pedal is so much better so now its kinda good that it looks disabled.
This new Fortnite amp sim is really good
They done it again! Game changer for sure!

Whatever Fortin is paying you is not enough cause that's TWO plugins you've sold me in less than 30 minutes worth of videos. This sounds amazing!

That tone you got to about 10 minutes in was SICK!
The day you published that video is the day I started hearing Odin's voice. I've been chasing that tone ever since.
Love your videos. The only thing that's missing from some videos like this is how it sounds in a mix.
They just don't stop doing a great job
Seu Groove..sua base... é simplesmente a melhor do mundo. Desconheço QQ que seja mais brutal !!
That song and tone you had in that Natas video is probably in my top 3 videos/tones from you! life changing for me too! lol

New camera? I love it!
Great video btw
hard to believe this was 500k SUBS ago! love you ola! \m/\m/
Honestly I've always preferred the original holy grail NATAS over the SATAN...anyway both great amps, just NATAS is one of the best ever imho
I am new to playing guitar and was absolutely clueless on amp simulators, Thank You for making this video!
Holy f *** that drop c tone was sick af Ola! Damn I need to get into recording and getting this

well...nothing have changed
The black guitar looks fucking awesome Ola
OH man this was an instant preorder. The nameless suite just destroys everything for metal
That fucking guitar looks so good from that one side angle.
Neural put the clean preset as "Clean the tip of your SINEP" Lmaoooooooo. i just got this plugin some hours ago and fuck im in love.
Holy shit, the new close up camera looks GREAT.
the riffs at around 10 minutes are epic
Since it's going to be standalone too - it would be cool to have additional reverb/delay after cab section.
Fortin are nailing it!... (pun intended)...
I love that color of your guitar.
NTS sounds more for classic metal tones where the Nameless is better for modern ones. Both good, just a choice of personal taste.
Weird, I thought exactly the inverse. To me the Nameless is closer to a souped up Marshall and the NTS, closer to a Mesa/Engl/5150...
