Fire exits and sprinkler system? Davao not too long ago had many fatalities in a building fire.
Be careful about those removed ceiling tiles as they almost always mean an unresolved problem.
Roof access? Parking? Water pressure? Backup power? Security? How old is the A/C? How noisy is it? Check the filter to see if your engineer is doing his job. Elevator?
Hi Neil, from taking to where we are in Davao City Yes there was a fire that had many fatalities , that was on NCCC but that was years ago. And the fire protection system where we are is effective always up and running. We have roof access as well as a helipad so it can host a lot of people up there in cases of emergencies. Water pressure is good, they have a pressure pump to supply the higher floors. And they have a stand by generator for power intteruptions. Security is 24/7 . With regards to the A/C it is a little loud but is enclosed so it muffles the sound. And as far as I can remember the elevator runs 24/7 and inspected often.
The most recent big fire is a high rise building in Cebu City... so what's your point?
Fire on December 23, 2017 at NCCC Mall in Davao claimed 38 lives. The point is that the Philippines doesn't have enforced fire codes like the United States and you've got to carefully evaluate buildings individually to determine if acceptable standards are being kept. I was in a the Gaisano Mactan Mall in Cebu recently and noticed that all of the fire exits were chained and locked shut. In the USA, that Mall would be shutdown by the Fire Department with the owner up on charges and possibly in jail. Be careful.
