Im a Filipino but it's my first time to see Davao. It's a big city and clean. I'm impressed.
And super progressive too.

@@gregwil694in 1970's, the noted and well known cities in the Philippines are only three, MANILA, CEBU, DAVAO. Davao was already progressive since then bec of gold and other mineral mining, logging, international shipping, etc. It is the gateway of mindanao to/fro Manila. so good and bad people flocked there
@jeanc3098 in 1970s its not davao, its Cotabato.. davao back then was just a killing field and salvage victims graveyard..
I am a resident of Davao City, welcome to our place! It is one of the cleanest cities in the Philippines and smoking is not allowed in public places. If you want to visit beaches, you can go to Samal Island or Mati, Davao Oriental. There are a lot of white-sand beaches there. Enjoy your stay ❤❤❤

I love the enthusiasm in trying to walk everywhere but as a local, I wouldn't suggest it unless you have triathlete stamina 🤣. The city is one of the biggest city in the world in terms of land area. Approximately, it is 7.8 times the size of Cebu and three times that of the entire Metro Manila. Also 5x bigger than Cagayan de oro city.
The reason you see durian EVERYWHERE in the city currebtly is because of the timing of your visit. It is currently durian , mangosteen, and lanzones season. Other months, youd rarely see cheap priced durian around. Next month til Christmas would be mango season..

I used to live in Davao city currently in Chicago. It’s one of the laid back cities in the Philippines cuz there’s not much to do there except going to the nearby places like Samal island, Bukidnon, Davao oriental or Davao del Sur.

A huge and modern city yet laid back.
I have been to Chicago, and frankly there is nothing much to do.
Scenery was quite bare. There were just mere buildings. Not fancy though as compared to Top cities in Asia Pacific.
@@roamaroundgisg7362 There’s no way Chicago is a laidback city, everyone here is in rush for their 9-5 daily jobs, traffic is terrible too during peak hours. My point about commenting about Davao city is, it is known for the largest city in the Philippines but still bare and being left out by other minor cities in terms of economic and infrastructures.

It does not even compare with Top Asian cities. To be very frank, most US cities are underwhelming in terms of infrastructure and public transportation is very poor. And btw, many of US cities are filthy like NYC and Chicago, they look very 3rd world.
I never stated that Chicago is laid back. It's just a mere city full of buildings and nothing else. There is Nothing much to do.
And it's one of the filthiest cities in North America. Right? And full of crap and crimes. Correct?
So, it's not laid back. Just a mere boring American city. There is nothing much to do.

Reminds me a lot of when I went to Davao 6 years ago. I only stayed there for 1 week. Most of those days, I went to SM Lanang. I stayed in Red Planet and rode a taxi to get to SM, but after a day, I decided to take a hike. Davao is very safe and clean. I also went to Samal Island, Davao City Hall, and the Night Market.
One of my plans is to visit davao soon!im from the island of luzon and never been in mindanao ever.i did in visayas region.davao and zamboanga hopefully???enjoy the islands of the philippines guys...

I was in Davao from June to august for vacation. I went back to the US, secured on online job, and I am going back in January! Honestly, I am so sad you guys will not be there when I get there. You two seem so fun to hang out with

I was in my Davao last month. My first in Mindanao. The Philippine eagle is so majestic. We saw Viggo the eagle in 1000 peso banknote! The city is pretty clean and organized and the people have a sweet sounding accent of bisaya 😊
Bisaya in Davao is relatively different from Visayas.😊

Welcome to Davao. I understand you haven't seen the whole city yet but the more walkable places are in the city center where it is more dense and the streets are more narrow. Only a jeepney away from your hotel, go to San pedro st. or claveria st. Thought you might want to see more crowded parts of the town. Enjoy!

@@miaya3898 I am talking about my standpoint as to why "I fell in love the first time I landed in Davao". For someone who experienced travellung from Magallanes to Cubao for 3 hours, then experiencing Davao was a bliss. I also roamed around downtown on foot, and it was far from the filthy streets of Metro Manila. I also appreciated the fact that Davao has a lot of cultural pasalubong centers.

You're in my city! I'm excited to see this cause I just live downtown. Explore more in Davao! Since you've been in malls go to abreeza mall I live in one of the condo beside abreeza.
I guess you would enjoy the Malagos Farm with the chocolate factory and some cheese plus the live animals you can interact with or visit Eden Garden Toril.
Also try to cross Samal island thru a barge very near only.
