- So, I saw some people having trouble with parrying in stellar blade so I decided to make a parrying guide for you guys and as many tips as I could possibly give you. Even though I might not hit on every single thing in this video, but I will hit on the main points, and I guarantee you I will help you improve all you have to do is listen and do as I say.

Working on a perfect Dodge video right now it will be up soon.
For me, it's not so much the parry system itself rather than some of the enemy animations being difficult to read, especially the animal ones that look like bulls/rams. Their movements are very erratic so it's hard to tell whether they're just weaving their heads or actually trying to headbutt you
I definitely agree with you on that they are pretty erratic and they don't really give you an indicator also.
Definitely that's catching me up a bit learning the timing and tactics of some enemies. The rams are the worst even boss fights seem to be more predictable with actions and where to counter
@@adambradford6712 ultimately, most bosses are, at their core, dudes waving swords or throwing haymakers at you, that's fairly easy to figure out and memorise. Not the case with mutated herky jerky goatmonsters with their constant bobbing and weaving
A bit of a trick you can do is, hold Block and as you're about to get hit, tap it for Parry. Because her sword is already up, she no longer does those few animation frames to get the sword into position.
I found this to be a lot more consistent in getting perfect parries until I learn the timing for all the enemies
That's wht I usually do
My main issue with the parries are the timings. When a character goes ape shit with multiple rapid consecutive attacks the parry windows are very early. It’s unnatural to me. I’m having a hard time adjusting to it.
Parrying bosses is really easy but man normal enemies are tearing me up 😂
THIS 😭 especially those little circle ones with the long tails
@@TaeSunWoo swear bro they be quite literally whipping my ass
One advice I can give is when you encounter an enemy for the first time take a few moments to study their attacks. If they start a combo back up and look at how it flows, because some of their attacks are delayed and some or REALLY back to back on purpose to throw you off. Once you see the standard combo give parrying a try with the timing you learned.
Your attacks not cancelling makes it tricky too. I often find myself attacking, then waiting for them to attack so I can parry.
Pro tip you can cancel the final attack if you press the parry button before the final attack comes out, if you do it fast enough or if you're using the enhanced version of the final strike. By holding down triangle if you have enough beta energy to charge your blade red any of those can be canceled at any time by either dodging or pressing Parry
Who has time for all this? Lol I just wanna kick ass and have fun. Devs dont get it man.
Man, I can't wait to see your Build vids once the full game is out, you're super chill.
Parrying is about finding the exact few frames you should press L1. They will give telltales -- some more obvious than others. For example, with the spiders, press L1 when their glow peaks brightest.
I don't have much issue parrying but I will say the parry doesn't feel natural at all. When you parry it should be an instant response. The delay between pressing the button and having Eve parry is way too long to actually feel good. You have to parry so far in advance half the time it feels like a block.
Especially when an enemy does a multi-hit combos with fast secondary swing, the game refused to register the input, so most of the time I'm feel like pressing L1 doesn't do shit.
@@zZiL341yRj736 You just have to parry immediately after the first one. Trying to parry on reaction for a lot of those is pointless.
Nice tips! I'm also just now noticing the robot in the training room reminds me of The Surge.
Thanks for this. I need to start trying to hold the button instead of doing it like sekiro with just taps. Seeing it was helpful !
Bro as soon as I started playing your video in the back ground I beat the boss lol
thanks for the tips.
Happy to help!
I need to learn the perfect parry and focus boost passive immediatly or I'll be in big trouble 😑.
Thanks, brah, coming from sekiro to this. I noticed parry timings are vastly different
How is the parrying different from Sekiro
@guyc1479 parry timing is different
You're having trouble parrying because you're focusing on the wrong thing.
That could also be a fact
Wait, there’s more to it than…the uh, plot?
One handed parry is quite challenging.
😂😂😂
Does the training room take into account the skills you’ve already unlocked and the exospine you have equipped? Does the exospine buff that makes parrying easier stack with the skill?
This was the demo so I didn't have access to the EXO spine when I made this video. However the actual training room in the real game lets you train in that area with your exospine equip.
The exospine in the game does make parrying and dodging easier but even after I take it off it still feels like parry Window is the same because I've parry so much without it I honestly can't tell the difference
@@BushidoXBrown I thought the same - that it didn’t seem like the effects stack. Also, while it is cool to practice with Mr. Practice Bot - I found that inevitably you’ll have to learn the strike patterns of each individual Naytiba. But that’s in the full game - I hope to catch your tips for that!
wow. you are really good game player. not just complaining, not act like childish player.
Why thank you. I appreciate the compliment 👍🏿
@@BushidoXBrown 😁keep going man!
Confusing part of the counter is it's description. "After perfect parry, hold square arrow triangle." What is THAT suppose to mean?!?
Hold square then after first strike press triangle to do a second strike
@@BushidoXBrown Thx a lot.
The game is awesome, but almost a big part of battle mechanics is parry, the timing is really tricky also you character many times is not reacting because is in a middle of a combo and many enemies can attack although you are hitting in the same moment, you cant break is stance. Also many times im sure Im block in time, but no, ending receiving the damage.
For example is extreme hard parry the Cricket Slasher, you cant break his stance and is very fast when attack, and almost impossible to read.
The God damn game doesn't even registered the parry input. Sometime it doesn't do shit. I spent a god damn hour with that robot.
Yeah the input delay does kind of mess with you. I looked up some stuff to try to reduce it you should probably research the PS5 and how to reduce input lag is actually pretty helpful. They definitely need to optimize some things in the game and I hope the address it. However this is the best advice I can give at the moment
Bro thank you this parry system is pure garbage 😂 I’m used to games like Elden ring or sekiro where it’s an instant parry timed right….i almost gave up on this game until you said that tip of holding L1 then tapping it again to parry that seems to be the only working way for me smh
Not too mention that at times it doesnt work because most enemies have multi hit combination attacks. You can parry the first hit but the enemy wont stagger and you just end up getting hit by second or third blow. I aslo hate that enemies dont stagger at all in this game making most of those flashy combos useless. You can be in the middle of some DMC Dante style combo and the monster will just slap you out of it WHILE theyre being sliced to pieces. Its annoying playing a hack and slash like its For Honor. Wish you could just go ape shit like GOW or Ninja Gaiden.
@@DrillSgtMason Those Desert Lurkers (the darker variant) can suck a large one. They don't stagger like most enemies and they always hit you with the 3-piece combo even when you parry their attacks (unless you're on the last parry to break their balance)
You watch the newer boondocks where bushido brown gets murked by stinkmeaner's goon squad?
There are a few channels posting videos on bad the combat is. Yet the person complaining doesn't have combat skills anyway base on their game library. Turns out to be a video to get clicks for putting down Stella Blade. When confronted they cried foul.
Yeah I know right most of the people who create those type of videos do it to farm engagement. 2 minutes with the game and then start calling it bad combat instead of actually trying to learn how to combat actually works.
I would like to play without those stupid parrying. I am struggling with that so much and i try to kill the unindentified alpha naytiba now where parrying is important. I gave up on the game. Normally i really like game and i should do at least do one playthrough cause i paid money but its too frustrating. I am lucky that i even came that far but mostly i just spammed combos and beta skills. That doesnt work with the unidentified alpha naytiba. Maybe i should start a new game to learn parrying i dont know.
I only master 1 monster parry..thats at the training..the robot with tantacle😂.
First tip is at 4:20. Great info but way longer than it needed to be
I just mash L1 and i parry 80% of the blows
The parry timing is this game is atrocious after coming from ghost of tsushima. It's really pissing me off
Agreed, the window feels weird, it is impossible to read a lot of attacks, and animations feel similar on some attacks so it also throws you off.
I thought that too originally, but I spent time in the training room and it helped a lot. Mix the parrying and dodging and you should be good. Ghost of Tsushima's combat was much more forgiving, even on higher difficulty.
@@HeyDrGamer Yeah I spent alot of time in the training room and figured out the timing for most attacks. IMO it is actually easier to parry the bosses vs some of the trash mobs. And yeah you also need to learn which attacks you should parry and which you should dodge
The hardest "boss" to me was bigger groups of trash mobs. They can be really damn frustrating.
As for the real bosses, I had to try one of them thrice but most of them went down of the first try.
Nah the timing is off to help people who aren't good at games. They only time it parrys is when I press it to late and it makes the attack land if you block right on time.
The enemy animation are slow on purpose for non-ganers, but for actual gamers these animations would just make the game feel weird, do I land a few more attack or sit here and wait 1 second for him to finally swing..
The combat seems like its design to make none gamers look good at the game
That sounds like a skill issue on your part.
Also I don't know what this whole thing you're talking about real gamer and non-gamer but it doesn't make any sense. Input lag does not help anyone it actually throws off people's timing other factors that contribute to that not just the game itself
Maybe you're just not good at the game it could just be that this video is to help people who want to adjust to the timing of the game not a video for you to complain about the Parry system because you ain't good at it
People were actually complaining? 5 minutes in the training sim you'll get it down pat.
I wish I had more of a chance to practice it before getting to the boss challenge. I’m getting creamed
Why are you here then? 😂
@@jackoblllllllll to support the creator of the video
@@sonic4liferiiiiiiight 😉
People going around calling this combat easy to seem good at games is funny 🤣
I guess it depends on who's behind the controller. Most of these games combat system is muscle memory, timing and pattern recognition. The only time it really gets pretty difficult is towards the end
You got some good advice, but you’re talking in circles and some part is too. Please be more concise.
