Dang you went hard on this one. Probably one of the best covers I've heard. Most ppl just do a vanilla cover, but you've made it custom for a full piano. Love the additions you've made here from the Harmony to the rhythmic ostinato, and incorporating elements from the remake's version. Great job!
It was a small goal, at first. Something to pass the time. The Gyms had been beaten mostly out of boredom, just to further validate his status as the current champion. But then he started to hear rumors. Rumors of an insanely strong trainer. Someone who had done it all before him. Someone who had done it better. Someone who, like himself, had never lost once. So he prepped his supplies and had his partners healed and then set off on the journey, seeking a good fight. The mountain was harsh and rugged, as expected. There was much terrain that needed to be overcome. But the place was barren. Not a single soul to be found, barring the local wildlife. He was starting to feel a tad discouraged. While the mountain was supposed to be sectioned off from the public and the unskilled, he had expected that there would be more trainers for him to combat against. As time passed as he ascended, his thoughts briefly mulled on the possibility that his desired opponent just simply wasn't here. Then, after reaching the top, he heard a footstep in the snow behind him. "......" He had come for a challenge. He had come for a good fight. He had come unprepared. It was a young man, somewhat older than him. Or at least that's what it looked like. He wasn't sure whether it was the cold in the air around him or his emotions running rampant, but he had a nonstop chill going down his spine from the moment he had laid eyes on him. Something was off. Something wasn't right. The boy looked human, moved just like everyone else, but every fiber of his being was telling him to run from him while he still had the chance to. Something screamed "monster". But he had come for a challenge. Monster or not, this was why he was here. It was time to see if he could beat the legend at his own game. To see if he really deserved the title of "champion". Nervously, with his hands shaking, he reached for his partner's ball. "....." The legend smiled, as if knowing his intentions. The legend reached for his own partner's ball. His hopeless fight for survival began.
@@RyanZPianoGuy Yes, and a long time ago. I had it for part of my video description when I extended a remix of Red's theme. This is basically me copying and pasting one of my earlier....well, "works" on TH-cam. But admittedly that's a tad pretentious of me to call it that.
@@RyanZPianoGuy ......This is that moment in a person's life where someone flat out tells you what you're good at and what you should focus your full attention on, but you're content on using your talent in what you've been doing so far, isn't it? With that person being me, that is. I had this same exact situation back when I was still in college in my acting class. My teacher took me under for private study and he told me my acting was flawless. I was even told by my classmates that I became a completely different person. Yet here I am, being a showman, an entertainer, and being happy doing it. And honestly, it's enough for me. It's fun. Thank you for your advice, you're completely correct. I'm going to make the mistake of not following it now. But at least I'm aware it's the wrong choice. But, again, thanks.
This is easily the best cover of Red's theme I've seen. It's one thing to make a piano arrangement, it's another to completely capture the intensity of a full on theme when playing it on a single instrument. As a fellow piano player, this is very inspiring
